In that case little Timmy, I'd implore you to watch the news. Or do a google search about the bullshit at the border. Quite frankly, it's a human tragedy that you seem to be blissfully unaware of.

From Wiki:

Quote
The segments titled "Monsters!" and "Monsters! (Reprise)" are an adaptation of Raymond Scott's popular composition "Powerhouse".[2] Although the statute of limitations for copyright infringement had expired by the time Scott's publishers attempted to take legal action, the band paid some monetary compensation to him and his wife, feeling an ethical obligation to do so.[3]

In 2018, Lee said of the piece:

That was a song where I would have to say our ideas exceeded our ability to play them. We thought: "We're going to write this long piece and then we'll just record it live off the floor and boom!"

But it was really difficult. It was beyond us. I included it here because it surprised me how popular that song was among our fans. They just love it when we go into that crazy mode.

Yes, it is an indulgence, but it seemed to be a pivotal moment for us in creating a fan base that wanted us to be that way.[4]

"La Villa Strangiato" translates roughly to "The Strange Village" or "Weird City".[1]

Drummer Neil Peart said of "La Villa Strangiato":

This is Alex's brain, and every section of that song is different dreams that Alex would tell us about and we'd be, "stop, stop." It was these bizarre dreams that he would insist on telling you every detail about, so it became a joke between Geddy and me. "La Villa Strangiato" means strange city, and there was so much going on in that. There's also a big band section in there, which was absolutely for me because I always wanted to play that approach. And cartoon music. We got in trouble later because we used music from a cartoon from the 1930s.

Ouch. That is not good.  Do you have some numbers or citations about the 1980s compared to now?

How can that be interpreted as "arguing against" anything?

Essentially saying, "Prove it", typifies the position of arguing against something.

I bet you I can challenge you on local happenings here because you don't watch news about what's going on here.

If I remember correctly, you live in Portland or somewhere way up there in the left corner.

It would be accurate to say that "murphy's law" is the state of affairs where you live, effectively "hell on earth" and/or "everyone escaped from the loony asylum" to someone like me. It's why people are fleeing California and moving to my state. And quite frankly, I wish they'd go the fuck home. Traffic is SHIT. I don't know actual numbers, but I'd estimate that the population of the Atlanta metro area has doubled or more in the last 12 years.

First got into them around 1991 when Roll The Bones came out and they'd play the title track on the local Atlanta rock station 96 Rock. Funny because they never play that song on the classic rock station EVER. It's like it never happened. They only play the handful of hits from Permanent Waves (80) and Moving Pictures (81)... maybe Working Man or Fly By Night from the earlier stuff. Much like radio, I don't really listen to any of their later stuff either. I love Hemispheres from 78. It's my favorite Rush album, even though my favorite individual Rush songs are from the later albums in 80 and 81. The sound, the song structures and progressive feel of it. It's prog, it's arranged beautifully like classical music, but it's got some hard rock feel too. And that's the great thing about all their albums from the late 70's and early 80's: they ROCKED. Once keyboards started getting pushed to the front more, they kinda lost that swing and energy they had before. Van Halen was the same. ZZ Top. That was the big thing in the 80's, everybody started toying with the fancy new Casio and Yamaha keyboards.

Yeah, that would be a possible logical fallacy at work here...

Then again, when you "don't know what's going on", I would assert that to be the fallacy of personal incredulity (you find it hard to understand, therefore it must not be true).

It's on every major cable news network. Left, right, ALL OF THEM.

There is no "lib" or "conservative" about verifiable facts.

TRUE! The evidence of it is verifiable and undeniable. There's a good reason why I refuse to provide it for you. Because when I do, you will likely attack the source as corrupt. On the other hand, I know that it's virtually impossible for you to find a source on your own that will lie and say that numbers are not dramatically elevated. As I said before, WE ALL KNOW IT. The idea that I need to do anything to prove it is ridiculous.

Nope. It's not fine. Those are flames.

Nope. It's not fine. Those are shitloads of immigrants.

Sooooo...

You want to argue against a thing that you aren't even informed about.

I'm checking out of this discussion.

By your own admission, you were never even CHECKED IN, dude.

"WHAT IMMIGRANTS!?! WHAT PROBLEMS!?! WHERE!?! I DON'T SEE ANY PROBLEMS!!!" -Pepp, this thread, 6/11/23

Here's another quote that's actually real, unfortunately...

"The border is secure." -VP Kamala Harris, 9/11/22

One can only marvel at the tremendous stupidity that is required to consider that a truthful statement. This is the person on deck to take the wheel if Dopey Joe keels over dead. If you're not fucking terrified, you're not paying attention.

...meanwhile, basically every word out of the little puppet Karine Jean Pierre's mouth is "Don't believe your lying eyes and ears, everything is fine."

... Eek. Aw geez, excuse me, I meant, "lesbian woman of color" puppet's mouth, because apparently that identity is of the utmost importance and was likely the primary reason she was given the job of press secretary. I mean... it's pretty damned obvious that COMPETENCE wasn't the main qualifier, otherwise she'd be able to answer questions without having to read EVERY SINGLE THING WORD FOR WORD FROM A PRE-MADE 3 RING BINDER.

There she is, looking down again. America has developed a very familiar relationship with this bitch's ridiculous garish metallic silver eye shadow. I challenge you... time her when she is talking and actively answering a press members question, and then time her for the amount of time she is looking down and reading the answer that she is giving. She's never looking AT the press or the cameras longer than about 5 to 10% of the time she is answering. She reads it all word for word like a fucking 4th grader. She is USELESS. Just like this entire administration is USELESS. They tell you employment is up - it isn't. They said inflation is transitory - it isn't. They promised things would be better under their reign - it's not.

We all know it. We see it. Even YOU do, you just wanna deny reality for some reason. But fuck it, let's call it what it is. It's Democrats streamlining the importation of what they believe will be loyal Democrat voters (a form of election meddling, obviously), and they also consider them a reliable source of tax revenue for the government so they can continue their obscene spending habits. They do not really care about these people and do not care to make their lives better (otherwise they'd focus more on the problem of what is making them decide to immigrate in the first place). They are a means to an end.

I really hate this new form of discussion.

It's NOT a discussion. I mentioned a well known FACT OF REALITY, and you essentially responded by saying, "Where is your proof?" I find that to be a ridiculous response... thus the ridicule.

If I say the sun is blue, you can look the fuck up in the sky and see it for yourself. If it's actually blue, you're not gonna miss it. All you gotta do is strain those little neck muscles and focus those little eyeballs... and then you see it. It doesn't require extensive preparation, it doesn't require an instruction manual.

Every single god damn news outlet has said it: "HOLY SHIT, THAT'S A LOTTA FUCKIN' MIGRANTS!" It's no one else's fault (or mine) if YOU aren't paying attention to it.

This might sound patronizing, but that's only because it totally is: Inflation is a real thing too. It's another thing I'm not gonna waste my time trying to prove to someone who appears to be trying to deny the reality of inconvenient truths.

Just to piss people off, I'm gonna quote stats I heard on FOX NEWS... and then not post a reference...

About 1.5 to 3mil per year that border patrol corral. They estimate they only interact with 15 to 25% of all incoming migrants, meaning that about 75% slip through unvetted unknown uncounted. Conservative estimates put the yearly totals at something like 9mil or more.

How many pictures like this came from the 80's?

Because there's a "plethora" of pictures like this from the last few years.

Huh? I just want some data to analyze that shows the changes. I've heard stories of immigrants invading homes in Yuma, for example, but I can't find any data to back it up. I don't live there, you see, so my eyeballs fail me on this information.

There is no "lib" or "conservative" about verifiable facts.

Gee. I wonder where in the hell you could possibly find that. If only there was somewhere one could go to access a wealth of information about various topics that one could search at will using some type of convenient electronic interface device. You can look up everybody's IP, just not immigration statistics, huh.

That's right. It's a fuckin' "CONSPIRACY THEORY" isn't it. Lib-splain away what we're all seeing with our own two fucking eyeballs. I could argue this bullshit with you, but fuck it. I see it. We all see it. If you wanna live a delusion where the shit right in front of you isn't really happening, you go right ahead.

I've seen plenty o' them god damn aliens.

Your tax dollars are paying for free smart phones for them. Pat yourself on the back, you didn't know how good and caring you were, did you.

(p.s. - loaded on the phones is an app registering them to vote... because there's nothing weird about that)
