Catalinbread Talisman reverb came today. :bananaw00t:

I almost expected not to be happy with this pedal after watching the previously mentioned demo video with it running through a dirty Marshall.

Eh, not really. Hearing is believing. Yes, it's a one-trick pony by design. Most reverb pedals these days have different modes that'll simulate spring (probably the most popular option on all reverb pedals), hall, plate, etc. This one just does ONE style of reverb. But it does it pretty damn good. And the knobs make it function like a huge plate reverb unit would, and most other reverb pedals don't really include these specific settings. The "time" knob once it gets to about 70% starts getting a little muddled on dirty tones, but you can set the pre-delay to make the reverb punch come after each note to kinda tweak how well you hear the original signal. The mix knob is great too. At noon, it's a strong 50/50 dry to wet sound, but past halfway, you get more of the reverb signal, and can achieve some really nice haunting droning kinda echos, which is an extra trick/gimmick hidden within the basic usage of the pedal. It's not often that within 10 minutes of having a pedal, I'm already getting such highly usable and inventive sounds out of it that it instantly inspires creativity.

This thing is THE SHIT!

But now I'm debating... maybe I want MORE textures of reverb. Catalinbread also makes a KILLER spring reverb simulator pedal called the Topanga. But it's kinda pricey, a little over 200 just like the Talisman I just bought. And at Christmas, my old lady spent about 250 on this Way Huge Supa-Puss delay I was saying I wanted... but then I found this EHX Canyon delay for 100 bucks... and I actually like the Canyon delay more. It does more things via the mode knob. So perhaps I'd do well to try the EHX Oceans 11 reverb, which is kinda like the Canyon delay because it has 11 different reverb modes/styles. I was trying to get a little "diversity" in my pedal collection, but I keep on getting drawn to these EHX pedals. They aren't overpriced, and I really haven't tried one that I didn't like.

My old man has kept saying, "You watch, at the last minute, Hillary is gonna throw her hat in the ring."

If this proves to be Biden's undoing... that theory becomes more and more plausible to me.

But hopefully the Democratic party knows better. She literally inspired more Republican voters to NOT skip voting that year. As hard as she worked to get people to vote FOR her, there was little she could do to prevent a huge portion of the population from voting against her no matter what she promised.

From my observation: It seems like most people don't want to vote for a Republican anymore and Democrats should have an easy win. But when they pick candidates that get all their bullshit talking points from bullshit polls on social media, they fail to connect with the rest of the people who don't stay glued to a screen for most of their boring fucking lives, and as a consequence they become completely oblivious to what is moderate and reasonable. And these people roll their eyes and say, "Fuck it, I'm voting Republican."

Tulsi Gabbard attractive? She's not Janet Reno ugly or nothing, but I dunno that I'd say she's "attractive". You ain't looking at her in the light at the right angle. She's got enough pock marks on her mug that you can use her face to sand your hardwood floors. :D

She also has a history of voting against same sex marriage. She's apologized for it and worked in the opposite direction since then, but if she ever became a viable threat for Dem nomination, her competition would use it on a loop until she dropped out.

HOLY SHIT, NO WAY! :bravo:

I'm wondering how much fuel it takes to slow those things down. I agree with "Pathole" (great name, bro), I would've never believed something like that could be possible just due to how much fuel it would take. It takes a shitload to get one from sitting still to high enough in the atmosphere that it can push out into space, much less having extra for the return back down to the surface.

Imagine the possibilities. You could launch a nuclear missile at someone just to scare the shit out of them, then call it back like a dog. :D

About 1:50pm East, some dork was on DM using the name "naymlis". Mostly likely not the real Naymlis. 48 ping, playing like they were a drunk 8 year old with head trauma.

Eh... the Krappernick thing is murky at best. Let's not delude our white selves at all. If he could say it without tanking his already-on-life-support career, he'd be saying some clearly racist shit against whites. Even though his mommy is white, and his black dad left before he was born... never heard that story before, he's such a unique little mocha snowflake, huh?

And that was racist. He can feel free to protest me. :nana:

This dude was gonna sue the entire NFL for colluding to keep him out of the league... and he later agreed to a settlement. Because clearly, he has moral principles and shouldn't be silenced by some - oh, a shitload of money? Why, sure, I'll take it. ::)

And he was trying to sign on with OTHER people who might be more desperate for known talent and would take a chance on a shithead like him, like the XFL. But he wanted a guaranteed 20 mil per season (not including extras, the 20 mil is the basic and guaranteed part :dohdohdoh:), while the rest of the XFL qb's were making no more than 250k a year. :-[

But anyway... HE was kneeling to protest those racist ass cracker cops killing blacks left and right... because apparently some college qb on a scholarship who became an NFL draft pick knows what life is like on the hard poor streets where gun violence is an everyday thing. Let's ignore the fact that his black dad left, his white mom put him up for adoption, and a decent white middle class family from fucking Wisconsin adopted him and raised him as their own. I don't give a fuck how many shitty tattoos he gets, he AIN'T fucking hard.

But I think the other people in the NFL who seemingly joined him in taking a knee were not necessarily supporting HIM and his sometimes shitty attitude. Around that time, there was another NFL player (I forget his name) who's brother was pulled over by a plainclothes cop who shot him dead because he supposedly thought his cell phone was a weapon. ::) It was a total bullshit occurence, and an outrage, and it deserved some attention and some pushback. And NFL players wanted to show their support for their friend so they joined in the take a knee thing, ...not to join Krappernick... not to shit on veterans... but to show their buddy that they give a shit what he and his family went through.

And not enough media coverage went to that aspect of it. It all got pointed at Krappernick and his bitchy diva bullshit.

46 years inside for some shit he didn't do... :ubershock:

An innocent man spent 46 years in prison. And made a plan to kill the man who framed him.

If you ask me... should get one free murder coupon. He can kill whoever he wants for whatever reason, and he goes free on time served. Because if you're gonna do 46 years... might as well actually do something for it. :dohdohdoh:

You, |iR|Focalor, have been doing that with your replies to me since i came back last year, albeit in a socially positive way, but thankfully my politeness and patience overcame the disbelief and exasperation you consistently inspired in me.

Let me inform you of what you ACTUALLY mean to say. Your politeness and patience didn't overcome jack shit. Your hiding behind a new name I don't recognize is what inspired ME to NOT ignore every fucking thing you have to say other than to tell you to go fuck yourself whenever the whim to do so might materialize. So congratulations, you fooled me with that mask. Now that it's off... go fuck yourself, Vamp Nacht.

"No one found her highly amusing." - how did you even get to writing this even after quoting me right above where you wrote it?

Who gives a fuck if I interpreted it however the fuck I felt like. Were you making an important or relevant point? No. You were fucking trolling trying to be a smartass and suggesting that she was the innocent victim. And now you have to wonder why all of the sudden everyone in this thread wants to kick you in the face? You know why we've arrived at this point. This is where you wanted to go. So go... go fuck yourself, Vamp Nacht.

Don't care either way. Go fuck yourself with handfuls of shredded fiberglass.

You guys are getting awfully hung up on this idiot label, as if it's generally something so carefully affixed whenever it is used. When you call someone an idiot, do you reserve it solely when referring to someone who is actually mentally retarded? I'm thinking not.

When I'm talking about mentally retarded people, I typically refer to them as crayon chewing, shit-ball rolling, orangutan looking, drippy drooling, spastic fuckers. But only because the anti-bullying alliance says "idiot" is offensive.

p.s. Didn't Spawngirl contribute an ultra fuckton of high-quality Xatrix override material (still in use to this day?) only to have it taken away or dismissed or abused in some manner that apparently a large amount of people found highly amusing?

No one found her highly amusing. She was treated cruelly by plenty of people, including myself, and she deserved it. People tend to receive the treatment they give to others. I'm not a big fan of the guy, but when Jesus said, "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you.", it was one of the best pieces of advice he ever gave.

And if what Zep said is true, that what set her off was was someone recoding the xatrix traps to be killable, then WHO CARES HOW SHE FELT ABOUT IT. A couple of the xatrix players did and still do rely far too much on the traps. While that aspect of gameplay might be "fun" for the individual who relies on it (trolls do it for the lols), it completely ruins the fun of the game for others. Traps last a good 30 seconds and respawn at about the same rate. So the person whose entire strategy is to collect and control all the traps like TDM players collect and control armor have a clear advantage... which in and of itself isn't a problem. The problem is that the other players who get stuck in the pull of one without getting fragged by it are glued in place, unable to move, and have to WAIT for 30 seconds to pass before they can begin playing the game again. It's like forcing the other players to be put on pause. There is no competitiveness with it, as the victim has no recourse but to sit and wait for someone to come by and take pot shots at them, or for the trap to expire. With killable traps, the victim must expend a large amount of ammo to kill it, so once they are free, they likely have very little ammo to defend themselves. It's a fair trade that keeps the game competitive and eliminates the endless boredom of being caught in traps and forced into pause for more than 50% of any game per map.

It's not that I have a problem with the traps themselves, it's how they work to STOP the gameplay that I find so annoying and game-breaking. If the pull of them were eliminated and all the traps you ever were within range of would instantly suck you in and kill you, that would still be far better than being forced to STOP and stand there with nothing to do for 30 seconds.

The people who use the traps as a primary strategy KNOW how annoying and unfair the practice is, as evidenced by their trolling behavior while doing it. The inclusion of so many powerups in her overrides, like multiple megahealths, multiple adrenalines, power armors, always a quad and double-fire, etc, was mainly because she wanted to access those items to gain more of an advantage over other players. In the beginning, she made the overrides, so she knew where all the best items were, and knew all the secret teleporter locations to the hidden items, and she had a clear advantage over everyone else, and she liked the attention that garnered. But eventually people learned where everything was and how to access it and how to absolutely crush her again. And when she no longer had total control over the server and it's players, she lost that unfair advantage she enjoyed... and her fucking mind.

After browsing through my forum pics folder on my TS webspace, I saw a blast from the past. Some faked screenshot pics I made of Golgo supposedly private messaging me asking for a wallhack and a bot to use against Haunted. And then Quadz took me serious, so he spent a while figuring out how to get into my private messages trying to verify it, lol. :D He wasn't too happy about having to do that. And then he kinda felt shitty for violating our privacy by hacking into our PM's. :D Poor guy. Good times though. :dohdohdoh:

To reiterate, THOSE ARE 100% FAKED and were done as a joke. He DID NOT ever private message me asking for hacks.
