3 cool old amps from the 70's (sort of).

1. White Matamp GT120. (Possibly a modern reissue of an old Matamp from the 70's) I think Matamp made the first Orange amps in the late 60's. I'm not very familiar with Matamp, they're kinda hard to come by, but I guess they made Matamp designed amps under a few other names in the 70's. I've seen pics of some that say "White", "Black", even modern reissues that say "Green Matamp". All I really know is... Peter Greene of the early version of Fleetwood Mac used to play a Matamp and a few Orange's in the late 60's.

2. Orange OTR. From what I've read, this one most likely IS a modern reissue (reissued in the later 1990's) of the popular Orange OR120 amps from the 70's.

3. Sunn Beta Lead. I don't think this amp is from the 70's. More likely from the 90's. But it seems to be based on the design of the old Sunn Concert Lead solid state heads of the 70's.

David Crosby, Folk-Rock Voice of the 1960s Whose Influence Spanned Decades, Dies at 81
He was an original member of the Byrds and a founder of Crosby, Stills & Nash. But he was almost as well known for his troubled personal life as for his music.

Was never a HUGE Jeff Beck fan. I do really like his old mid 70's solo albums, Blow By Blow ('75), and Wired ('76).

Mostly I like his gear. The Seymour Duncan JB pickups are one of my favorites.

As per Seymour Duncan wiki page:
Quote
Seymour Duncan's best selling pickup model is the SH-4 "JB Model" humbucker, that originated from a pickup Duncan made in the early '70s for his hero Jeff Beck who had the PAF pickups switched out of his guitar by a dishonest guitar tech. Beck used the pickups in his seminal release "Blow By Blow" in a guitar built for him by Seymour, dubbed the Tele-Gib, which featured a JB pickup in the bridge position and a "JM" or Jazz Model pickup in the neck. The JB was never an official signature pickup, and Duncan cannot use the name Jeff Beck.

If you don't know, a "PAF" refers to a "patent applied for" pickup that was found in the "holy grail of guitars", 1958, 1959, and 1960 Gibson Les Paul sunburst models. I guess they'd also probably be found on the Gibson 335's etc from that period as well as the Gibson Les Paul SG's from 1961 and 1962 that temporarily replaced the Les Paul singlecut model during the 60's. (they didn't officially call it the SG model until about 1963 I think)

Again, as per wiki:
Quote
PAF ("Patent Applied For"), is an early model of the humbucker guitar pickup invented by Seth Lover in 1955. Gibson began use of the PAF on higher-model guitars in late 1956 and stopped in late 1962.

These days I typically like the more classic sounding lower to mid output pickups, Les Paul PAF sounding kinda things like the Seymour Duncan JB and 59 combo like what comes stock on the Guild Bluesbird. The old Gibson 490's that come on the Gibson SG Standards and a few other lower end models are really good. I also really like the Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickups, which are a variation on an old 59 Les Paul PAF pickups, a little bit of a boost in the midrange area.

Jeff Becks signature Fender Strat is pretty cool too. To my knowledge, it's the only one that still comes with the LSR roller nut at the headstock rather than a plastic or bone or synthetic bone nut. The ball-bearing rollers helps prevent string binding and tuning problems at the nut with all the whammy bar work he does. Back in the 90's there were at least 2 or 3 different models of Stratocasters that had the roller nuts, but I guess they aren't so sought after anymore.

I have a little over a grand saved up including some pedals and my Taylor Big Baby acoustic for trade. Was considering getting something like a used Jeff Beck strat, but there's no way I'll be able to find one now.

Jeff Beck, dead at 78. Wikipedia is listing bacterial meningitis as the cause of death, but perhaps that is not official at this point as there is no formal section on the page about his death yet.

One of the most insanely talented guitar players on planet earth. This guy used a combination tremolo arm + volume control and picking technique to basically turn a stratocaster into what sounded like a completely different instrument. To my knowledge, not a single other person on the planet could ever replicate his style and sound. One of the all time greats.

Love this live performance he did of one of his best songs with Tal Wilkenfeld on bass.

A collection of Quake2 color palette files for importing/exporting PCX to/from various paint programs. Not sure where I got these. Not sure if all of them are 100% valid. The .PAL file should be correct, and it's probably what I was using with my version of Photoshop on my old machine.

PAL and ACT I think both work with Photoshop, PCX is probably the same thing as in the stock pak file, dunno what the LMP would work with, probably something really old and outdated so who cares anyway.

In photoshop, if you open the image, perhaps the colors will be fucked because the palette isn't applied. To do so, go up to:

image > mode > indexed color...

A window should popup. Under "palette", scroll down to "custom".

A new window should popup (color table). From there, click "load", select the PAL file (put it somewhere in your photoshop folders with the other palette files I guess just to make it easier), (dont forget to select the file type as PAL on the lower box). Then click load. It should load and the colors will display.

When you go painting it up, you have to save the image loading that palette again, and it'll shift your colors. So my advice... don't even screw with painting a PCX image at all. Use it to create your image for a PNG. PNG doesn't use the Q2 color palette and can display any damn color in the computerized rainbow.

You probably know all this though. If not, if you get stuck with something, just ask.

private message spamming me.

Let's rewind the tape.

And none of that erases the fact that you were spamming private messages at people.
"Daddy daddyyy this Pasta person is sending messages to me, please make him stop, daddyyyy!!! He said 888 is God and it's not trueeeeee!!!!".

private messages is a problem? One could just not care. Like a normal person, it's just text after all. Goes away very fast with the game events. But no, one has to come here to whine. Tells a lot about that person.

In the interest of racial equity, I've decided to remove all black people from my player models so that I can no longer target any black people like the racist I probably am. But I haven't deleted them, I've just moved them to another folder I've named "Africa". ...um... wait a minute...

In hindsight... aw shit, yeah, that was kinda racist again. Dammit.

Okay... trying again...

In the interest of racial equity, I've decided to remove all white people from my player models so that... I can... only shoot black people??? God dammit, that doesn't work either, does it? FUCK!

Okay... one more time...

In the interest racial equity, I've decided to remove all HUMAN models from my player models... aw shit, now the PETA people are gonna be on my ass... FUCK ME, this is so hard!

Good news and bad news. He's still alive at this point. Considering he was obviously not breathing and without a heartbeat for a number of minutes, I think that's a really good sign. I haven't heard anything about him being awake or responsive at all, which is the bad news. It doesn't take that long that if the brain goes without oxygen for long enough, permanent cell death and brain damage occurs. Looks like they were able to get CPR to him quickly enough to save his life, but considering he was an athlete in the middle of intense physical exertion, perhaps his body and brain needed more oxygen at the time than CPR could provide and it wasn't enough to prevent brain damage.

I honestly did not expect him to live through the night. Scary shit. When I saw the ambulance pulling away slow like they were in no hurry at all, I thought the worst. Glad he's still hanging in there. Hoping for the best.

Was excited to see the Bills and Bengals play tonight. But with about 5 mins left in the 1st quarter, Buffalo Bills CB Damar Hamlin made a seemingly routine tackle, got up, and immediately feel backwards. ESPN said they were doing CPR on him for a while, were using a defibrolator, gave him oxygen. He was loaded into an ambulance. Players decided to suspend play until further notice. Not good. I've seen some horrific injuries before, but never seen someone need CPR before. Obviously a serious serious injury, possibly broken neck or something, although no one is saying anything about it yet.

Hope this dude pulls through 100%.
