Picking the winner of that fight was too easy. Cerrone is talented and can beat a lot of people, but I don't consider him to have really ever been champion material in the UFC or back in the good ole days of WEC. McGregor just has FEROCIOUS punching power delivered with incredible accuracy. It was always gonna be too much for Cerrone to handle. What's kept ex-WEC guys like Cerrone and Pettis winning (but still losing a few) has been the fact that they've stayed busy and acclimated to fighting. Guys like Benson Henderson and Urijah Faber lost so much once they got to the UFC because they fought far less frequently.

I don't give a damn who McGregor fights next honestly. Just as long as he fights ANYONE, and soon. If he's gonna be a fighter... again... he needs to keep his shit together, stay out of handcuffs and courtrooms, and show up to fight people more often than once every 2 years.

Another Khabib fight? Fuck that. Khabib would win. All those Dagastani muslim fighters fight so fucking boring. Although they aren't as bad as most of the female fighters, who most of them are clearly throwing punches and kicks only intending to score points rather than HURT their opponent and beat them. Like that fight between that lanky Columbian chick and JJ Aldridge or whatever her name was. That Columbian girl was throwing the most lazy little pussified leg kicks and body kicks I've ever seen. I could've taken those kicks. MOST PEOPLE (who aren't elderly or minors) could've easily taken those kicks. If you're a pro-level fighter and you're gonna kick someone, then it's something you've practiced 1 million times. Throw it like you mean it.

And that's kinda why I actually PREFER to download the shit and watch it afterwards. For starters, it's free, which is all it's worth most of the time in my opinion. I don't wanna pay for a PPV or even a $10/month subscription to Fight Pass when the PPV's tend to be more boring than the Fight Nights they do on FoxSports or ESPN. Number two, I can fastforward through the women's fights, which most of them tend to be snooze-inducing and end with judges decisions. I'd rather watch 15 hours of Jim Carrey doing Jerry Lewis impressions than watch one more instance of 15 minutes of another boring-as-fuck Holly Holm fight. :mrdead:

Tribe and the Democratic House majority, led by Speaker Pelosi, want to have their constitutional cake and eat it too: they want Trump impeached but not acquitted. Sorry, but the Constitution does not permit that partisan, result-oriented ploy. Either Trump has been impeached and is entitled to a Senate trial; or he has not been impeached and is entitled to a clean slate.

Jesus christ. When my intuition has been wrong half the time,  I go counter intuitive and get skunked.  :lolsign:

Yeah. I WANTED to pick the Chiefs, I damn well knew it was the smarter pick, but Tennessee's persistent survival gave me pause and made me think this could be one of THOSE years when the underdog finds the blessing of the football gods and goes all the way. Sucks for them, they were so close.

Should be one hell of a Superbowl though. God damn, this one's gonna be impossible to pick. Probably one of the most dead-even matchups in recent Superbowl memory.

Still playing GTA Online. Almost got my character to rank 1000.

Finally at rank 1000. What do I get for my efforts? Nothing. Which isn't entirely true. I got screwed. I had about 27 million in my pocket when I logged on. I spun the daily casino prize wheel and got a 10% discount on anything purchased from the Warstock site. So I finally bought one of those ridiculously priced Hunter attack helicopters for about 3 million. It never showed up in my damn hangar. Had to file a support ticket with Rockstar. Hopefully they'll fix that shit and get me either my helicopter or my money back. 3 million in GTA Online takes way too long to earn to throw it away for nothing. (estimated wait time on my support ticket was AT LEAST 96 hours)

I got the 2 South Park games for Xmas, The Stick of Truth, and Fractured But Whole. Only barely started playing The Stick of Truth and it's already got me pissing myself laughing.

For example, when you try to put your name in, it doesn't matter what you put, Cartman says your name is "Douchebag".

And the classes of characters...

Finally saw the latest Quentin Tarantino movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

I don't wanna spoil it, but it's impossible to talk about it AT ALL without somewhat spoiling it. So... I hereby notify you of this...

SPOILER ALERT. If you haven't seen the movie and are planning to at some point, READ NO FURTHER.

Otherwise, keep scrolling and read on.

It's kinda the same M.O. as Inglorious Basterds, a blatant retelling and rewriting of history. And honestly, I found the somewhat irreverent rewriting of WW2 history somewhat less offensive than this. It's basically a rewriting of the Manson family murders. In the movie, the Manson family hippies go to the wrong house and get killed deader than hell in over-the-top gory Tarantino fashion.

Tarantino's a well known director in Hollywood. I gotta imagine he's certainly met Roman Polanski at some point. And yet he still had the balls to make this fucking odd-as-hell movie. If I was Polanski or any of the family members of the people murdered by the Manson family, I'd be pretty upset about this movie using them as "characters" like this.

Other than that.... It's basically a 2.5 hour elaborate depiction of LA in 1969 complete with hundreds of classic cars, period costumed extras, and restored building fronts to look like they did in the 70's. Basically it's him reliving his favorite period in movies. And then you've got the couple of scenes with Margot Robie and some other chick where their goddamned FEET get propped up in close-up shots, because obviously, Tarantino is one of those fucking foot fetish weirdos. It's fucking gross.

Despite the fact that I liked the actors in the movie and the performances they gave, the movie itself was not good in my opinion. I like rewatching all his movies once every year or three. Kill Bill, Hateful Eight, Jackie Brown, etc. This one I don't think I'm gonna bother seeing twice. I couldn't even sit through the movie all at once like I normally do. I had to watch it in pieces on 3 different occasions because it was kinda boring and pointless. Rating it 1 to 10, I'd give it a 5. Without the big name big budget actors giving great performances, this movie would COMPLETELY SUCK and would barely get a 1.

What do you guys think would happen to the Mexican drug cartels if all drugs were legalized in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada?

It would not wave a magic wand and make them disappear. They'd likely be forced into other business ventures, which would initially increase competition between them once again, sparking all out war between themselves, probably on a scale never witnessed before. Unlike American organized crime outfits, they don't seem to give a damn about handling their business in public, nor do they have much incentive NOT to accrue collateral damage in the form of murdered civilians and destroyed property, because they already have much of the countries police force on their payroll. By necessity, that violence would spread to the southwestern United States on a larger scale, but also to everywhere else in the US and Canada where other organizations would be directly or indirectly affiliated with those Mexican cartels. For example, street gangs in Baltimore and Detroit would have a renewed reason to go after one anothers territory due the volatile prospects of the new businesses. Most of them would be convinced that profits would be harder to come by in that new economy, and they'd be right. Because if you can't sell drugs... what the hell is gonna be more profitable than drugs? Absolutely nothing, that's what.

I think that the new business would likely be a vast expansion of human trafficking and forced prostitution.

What else is there that can render the kinds of profits that narcotics can? Bootleg alcohol? Nope. Illegal gambling? Nope. Everythings been done, and all of it's been legalized and is now controlled and regulated by your government. They'd have to find something new, something the government is too scared to touch at the moment. Under the surface, local governments DO allow asian massage parlors to operate as de facto brothels, they just don't advertise that they're involved in it. But they certainly are. They do it for the extra money, which really isn't much, and it says to me and anyone else looking closely enough at it that they're probably directly pocketing that money. YOUR FINE UPSTANDING LAW ABIDING GOVERNMENT AT WORK. ::)

To be more precise, you'd have to better define what you mean by "legalized". Would cocaine be produced in laboratory environments, free from the hideous adulterants that backwoods Peruvian producers dump into the stuff to make it, and would it be available for retail purchase in highly regulated and restricted quantities? If so, then what I just described is the natural course things would take.

But if your idea of "legalization" simply means "decriminalization" and nothing much further, then it would be business as usual. The same people would still buy the same stuff, nothing would change. If anything, their profits would increase and they'd increase their output and expand their organizations.

That one "article" is clearly parody and ridicule. But it's pretty fucked up when one like this is inching closer and closer to the truth of reality every day:

https://babylonbee.com/news/inequality-woman-makes-just-13-day-selling-pet-rocks-etsy-male-robert-downey-jr-made-millions-to-play-iron-man

I know it's a joke because I saw the peace pipe thing first. But if I saw the Robert Downey Jr. one first, for at least a split second I'd be like, "Wait a minute, are they serious?". Which is a pretty disappointing statement about current affairs. This is what a movement striving for "progress" has given us. Good job.

I'm gonna start believing and pick Tennessee this week. Some years (maybe or twice per decade) there's that one underdog team that nobody counted on to be there, and they just won't go away, they refuse to lose, they have the magic mojo. Maybe this the Titans magic season. ...or maybe it ends miserably on Sunday, because they are playing the Chiefs after all. Which is why I gave them 2pts and not 4.

Green Bay won ugly last week. I don't have faith that they can do it again. So 4pts for San Fran.

My picks:
Titans - 2
49ers - 4

Not so enthused.

For starters, my PC is so old that there's no way it would run it. I'd have to play it on XboxOne, which I guess I'm fine with, although my aiming with the Xbox contoller vs a mouse would SUCK. Still, that's not a big deal, nor is it the major complaint I have about this game.

I still haven't bought a copy of the last Doom game they did, although I did install the free demo of it on my XboxOne. It seemed "okay", like it was the logical next step from Doom3... sort of. I feel like all the "execution" stuff was an idea their marketing dept and focus groups stole (or borrowed) from the BrutalDoom stuff. It kinda changed the gameplay a little, I dunno if I'd call it "for the better" though.

The monsters and even the human armor in that trailer all look FAR too over-elaborate. It doesn't look like Doom to me, it looks more like they ripped off their art ideas from Gears of War or some anime mech style crap. The monsters are supposed to be demons from Hell, not fucking robots that kinda look like demons. And whatever this story is they've got, it seems like it departs way too far away from what Doom originally was.

To me, what made the original games so popular and addictive was the "instant gratification" of it using a shotgun against imps. One or two hits and they blow apart. They don't need super-challenging enemies that are hard to kill (unless its a boss or a special enemy), they just need VAST NUMBERS of enemies that are easy to kill individually but their numbers are the challenge. If they can bring themselves to whore the franchise out by remaking it so many times, why do they feel like it's somehow immoral to keep the gameplay style consistent? I don't understand.
