Politics / Re: Retirement Planning

I have never been in favor of pensions and nobody in their right mind should depend on employer-sponsored pensions. Why? Because...

...if you're in a trade union, chances are mobsters are stealing part of it, but only when they aren't stealing ALL of it.

Yeah, it's like casinos. They rely on customers being bad at math. You're a little better off taking that money and giving it to an investment manager. You can still lose it all, but at least if it's outright stolen or something fishy happens, you have a little more legal recourse.

Nope, I'm NEVER collecting social security. Retirement will never be a viable of an option. Even if my house is paid for, it probably won't cover the property taxes and upkeep*, much less food and utilities and medical costs, much much much less anything else like... say I want to buy one no.2 pencil to jam in the artery in my neck to kill myself.

*= I paid about 30k for a new roof when my homo-ners insurance (AMERICAN FAMILY, FUCK THEM IN THE MOUTH WITH SATANS MAGGOT SPOOGING COCK) failed to cover me like they should have. I paid about 20k for painters afterwards. I pay about 500 bucks once a year just for pinestraw (80-100 bales) to put around my house to make it look presentable and prevent fines from the HOA... etc etc etc, shit's expensive.

You have my sympathy.
...

I wasn't even done yet. The dummies that built this house put in a poorly made septic drainage system...or they installed it wrong... nevertheless, another thing insurance WON'T cover at this point. The drain field off the back of the septic tank was a dome kinda thing, and the entire length of the domed main pipe collapsed. There is now a ditch through my backyard where the dome pipe is. So all that shit needs replacing. That's not even the best part... infiltrator dome goes UNDER the driveway that leads around to the basement boat door. So to dig it out and put in a new one, they'll have to bust out a large portion of the driveway that will need to be repoured. Currently there is a fucking VOID under the driveway big enough for a medium sized dog to crawl into - a sink hole in waiting probably. And I have a sprinkler system buried back there too. I'm not sure where off the top of my head because I never run it, but hopefully they don't have to dig that out and replace it along with the septic drain system... and the driveway... and whatever else God wants to throw at me. There's also a SECOND ditch starting to form in the yard about 10 feet away from the septic drain one, so maybe that's another part of the system failing as well.

It's a fucking joy. I can't wash clothes and take a shower at the same time.... or without several hours between them, because the fucking basement level shower drain begins overflowing with that excess water and... OTHER STUFF.

10 years ago, my house was nice. Now it's falling apart all around me. Good ole Mexican craftsmanship.

OH YEAH... and I can't even go on my back porch anymore. It's about 1 or 2 brisk farts away from crumbling. It's not that big of a deal... probably. It "might" be a loadbearing part of the apex of the roof on the rear of the house. The vertical main timbers are curving from where the builder never used treated wood or sealer. And if it is indeed a major load bearing part of the structure, it's going to require some unusual expertise to rebuild a new deck, which will make the project even MORE expensive I'm sure.

See. I think I'd just rather go the no.2 pencil to the carotid route and be done with it.

Yeah, more specifically this happens(scroll down to contingent elections):

https://history.house.gov/Institution/Electoral-College/Electoral-College/#:~:text=In%20the%20case%20of%20an%20Electoral%20College%20deadlock%20or%20if,contenders%20to%20determine%20a%20winner.

Of course, Trump will contest the election and refuse to step down. Then it's going to be a shit show.

Ive been looking for property for months. Even today. Moving back to hurricane ally and watch the dominos fall from there.

I guess you're assuming that from the "contingent elections" part. However, counting mail-in votes is a  situation that is not really contingent or deadlocked. I'm not saying I know this outcome will be for sure... I'm just saying it's highly possible. I'm just saying that with all the shit she's done up until now, I don't put it past the pruney cunt.

If they go ahead with mail voting, it's gonna be a shit show. I never thought I'd see a day in MY lifetime that the state of shit in America would have me seriously mulling over the idea of moving my ass back to Ireland.

And in the spirit of non-partisan bias-free political wankery, some Trump bashing!

Just occurred to me... OH YEAH, for all the shit that the media wants to pin on Trump like a scarlet letter, the one thing they've forgotten about is how the Net Neutrality Act was shitcanned under the Trump administration. I, on the other hand, have NOT forgotten this. I do not forget it, and I do not forgive it. As an independent and a semi-libertarian, I kinda view Net Neutrality as a First Amendment issue.

And hey, I said non-partisan bias-free, right? So fuck Joe Biden too!

Can you recall one fucking election in the last... oh... YOUR LIFETIME when November 3rd was less than 3 fucking months away, and one of the two candidates STILL hasn't had a VP picked out yet? SHIT OR GET OFF THE POT, JERKOFF JOE!

If mail-in fraud - I mean voting - goes ahead... and it's true what they say that it will take a LOOOOOONG fuckin' time to count it all... and Jan 20th rolls around... does Speaker of the House assume the throne? Asking for a friend.

Thoughts?

"Private businesses could refuse to employ or serve unvaccinated individuals..."

Let me get this straight... people can't refuse to serve others because they have AIDS or are gay, it's fucking ILLEGAL... but they can refuse to serve them if they don't get a hurriedly made vaccine which hasn't been tested as thoroughly or for the length of time that other vaccines typically are?

NOTHING in this country is mandatory unless you are a convicted criminal. When it's released, I'm gonna get the damn vaccine ASAP. Most if not all of you probably will too. Most Americans probably will. And that's cool, it'll work like that.

I can't fucking understand what these dumb motherfuckers use for a brain when they conjure up these paradoxes of logic that make them proudly exclaim things like, "Trump and/or Republicans are fucking Nazi's, and we need to FORCE EVERYONE to get a vaccine or socially exile them if they refuse!"

I would challenge this... PERSON... *cough* to spend one week reading one random history textbook and bookmarking the 10 things he finds most objectionable. Because he won't find one fucking thing in there that isn't TRUE. It's not what is in the books, it's what ISN'T in the books. What ISN'T in there is a bunch of opinionating and moral inventories. Because up until now, schools have been all about, "Here are the facts, they WILL be on the test, and form your opinions about it later, or DON'T, but don't expect to be graded on how right or wrong your opinions are. You have 4 years to learn this shit. We don't have time to fuck with opinions."

ORANGE MAN BAD!

Well well well... wasn't aware until now that Wikipedia, one of the last refuges for truth on the internet, was participating in the OMB game.

Just simply seeing how ridiculously long the contents link list is at the top... I LOL'd.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racial_views_of_Donald_Trump

Shouldn't surprise me though. And I don't totally blame Wikipedia itself for this. You got these bored hobby-less OMB people who have nothing better to do than sit in front of a PC or phone all day stalking Donald Trump and posting it to their exhaustive Donald Trump Running Shit List sites every time he so much as farts. Nobody fucking reads that shit anymore, so they have to do it in some self-important "official" capacity by posting it on wikipedia.

(Let's pretend I'm fucking nuts and have multiple personalities for a second... a stretch, to be sure. I can't think of any good names for my personalities yet.)

Me: So mail in ballots might not be reliable?

Me2: Yeah, prbly not. Even the shittiest crookedest countries in South America and indeed the WHOLE WORLD don't do it because it's so unreliable and problematic.

Me3: Do you have any proof of that? You don't have any proof of that ever happening.

Me2: No, because no one else has been dumb enough to try something so stupid, that's my fucking point.

Me3: Did you see how dumb the president was in this video?

Me: Wh... What's happening right now?

Me3: OMB 4 Life bro.

Me4: LSU homos.
