I work tirelessly every day to build a cloned community of Tastyspleen so that I can get back at everyone who ever said a mean thing to me on the internets. THEN I WILL HAVE THE POWER!

No wait, that's someone else. :-[

PS, just saw the name "anal samurai" in the weekly frags ticker. That's an... interesting job description. :D

Perhaps a combo of old SNL characters: the anal retentive chef as played by Phil Hartman, and the samurai played by John Belushi.

Wasn't the WWF (now WWE?)

Yeah, I forget the exact details of the story, but apparently when the "World Wrestling Federation" began using the abbreviation WWF, it was already trademarked by the World Wildlife Foundation. I think there was a legal battle over it, and McMahon lost. In the ruling, it was acknowledged that the World Wrestling Federation had been using the abbreviation long enough that an abrupt change might've been detrimental to their business, so they were given a certain period of time before they were forced to make the change. They continued to try to find a way to keep the WWF abbreviation, but couldn't. So eventually, they decided to go with WWE, they kept the familiar stacked W's logo, but shaved off the part that formed the F.

Can't speak to what happens in other wrestling orgs, but WWE has become largely predictable due to how they seem to be showing favoritism to anyone who has started in and stayed with WWE. For example, I was watching the last PPV they did from Saudi Arabia, WWE Night of Champions (from May 27). They had a big match between Seth Rollins and AJ Styles for the newly created "world heavyweight title", whatever the hell that's supposed to mean (they already had a heavyweight title I thought).

Seth Rollins originally started in several independent orgs before joining Ring of Honor. But the whole time, he was never really a big character until he signed with WWE and worked his way up through FCW and NXT, earning his spot within WWE itself. So basically he's thought of as a WWE original.

AJ Styles on the other hand... he started with NWA out of Georgia (he's originally from Gainesville GA, near me). Early 2000's before they went out of business, he was part of WCW. Mmm hmmm. If you came from WCW especially, you ain't gonna get to win as much vs WWE originals. The McMahon's seem to still have a bug up their ass about the old WWE/WCW rivalry. They also seem to reward loyalty by making it to where the WWE original wrestler comes out on top usually. Anyway, throughout the 2000's he wrestled for several companies, Ring of Honor, NWA, Impact, TNA, etc, before moving on to Japanese companies (around 2013 I think), and then finally WWE (2016-present).

Knowing this... I predicted Rollins to win. Aaaaand of course he did.

Use this same method to figure out who will win any given PPV match. I'd estimate it's about 95% effective. ::)

I don't watch AEW wrestling - the weekly shows or the PPV's (if they have any, I dunno). I don't watch the WWE weekly shows either, but I do still try to catch the PPV's when I can. It's not like the old days anymore. When I was growing up, you could tune into the weekly shows and see actual title matches, etc. Seems like the weekly shows these days are all bullshit talking skits and "filler" matches, with only the important shit ever happening on PPV's. ::)

Seems like most of the old WWE wrestlers have taken enough bullshit from McMahon and left for AEW. Cody Rhodes left WWE years ago, reinvented himself, and finally came back to WWE as a big time face with his American Nightmare persona (a nod to his famous dads American Dream persona). But he's the ONLY one who's actually come back that I can recall. Everyone else seems happier to be the fuck out from under WWE.

Sting, former WCW favorite... current "probably too fuckin' old to still be doin' it" wrestler... came close to an "involuntary retirement." He did a frog-splash move from the middle rungs of a ladder setup in the ring down to a man laying on a folding table sitting in the announcers area. The table the man was laying on broke, the second table beside it DID NOT. Stings face hit the edge of the table. Apparently he busted some teeth out, possibly concussed. Yikes. :o

Timestamped to start at about 2:00. If it doesn't just FFW to the 2min mark to see the whole thing unfold.

Yep. Miss the hell outta Q. I miss talking politics, music, - pretty much ANY topic was interesting to talk about with someone like him - smart, kind, intuitive, logical. To me, he wasn't weird. Rare, for sure. The rest of us are the weirdo's and crazies, and we're lucky if we have people like him in our lives who are like a compass always pointing true north so we don't forget where it is we're supposed to be going and who it is were supposed to be trying to be. Dude was muh hero! :headbang:

To Quadz the great!

and BTW why is tltf STILL in my map?

tltf.bsp is clearly a long range rail-heavy map, favoring lower latency players. Higher latency players are going to be disadvantaged.

I haven't played in many months, but when I did, I would attempt to go for the rail, but too many other people would be obsessed with it, often pitching themselves a tent on the rail platform and railing everyone as they're coming in. I found it much more effective to focus on using the chaingun to chew up the people in midair bouncing in predictable flight-paths from the 2nd tier to the 3rd tier.

Haha I just signed up for uber for a second job. What am I getting myself into?

Possibly a robbery. Head on a swivel and watch yer ass, dude. People are animals these days.

I really don't care, i'd be playing if i did.

You'd be replying if you did. Because you do.

Like you said...

You let yourself down there - if you're happy with your position on all of this then you shouldn't have bothered arguing it.

If everything and everyone here is so beneath you, then why linger like a fart?

Kinda strange coincidence... but when you posted that (or not long afterwards), I was watching a stream of an online auction on Rumble and they were auctioning off a bunch of movie used stuff, including some stuff from the Mel Brooks movie Spaceballs. A big round white Spaceballs Trooper helmet and Spaceballs trooper laser rifle (together) went for about $27,500. :o

/dev/random / Tastyspleen Discord ChatGPT - moments in time
« on: June 23, 2023, 06:12:17 AM »
In the tradition of old favorite threads like "IRC - Moments in time" and "funny shit you saw in TS-Live" (alas, IRC is no more :( )

Random shit from ChatGPT bot that strikes you as funny/interesting/etc...

The first question was something random. After I got the answer, I googled it and wiki said he actually had FOUR kids. So I ask again...
"You know he's got 4 kids?"
"Oh yeah yeah, sure! 4! Totally!"

 :erhmmm:

Methinks chatgpt might be a woman. (It's never wrong.) :dohdohdoh:

To further clarify... if someone is acting like an idiot on the TDM discord

You mean like when you get drunk on wine coolers and wish death on people for expressing a negative opinion about covid vaccines... which they themselves HAD... and STILL got covid... so their point was obviously valid?

Yeah, your channel is the picture of fairness. ::)

Rare Black Sabbath song not featured on any of their studio albums.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLqKJUCJWqE

Not that great. Understandable why it never made it onto any of their albums. The arrangement could use some different stuff as far as the guitar goes, but even still, not even as good (aka bad) as the stuff on Never Say Die (which actually I didn't think was totally horrible, some of the songs were okay).

Billie Eilish sucks, and so does Wolfgang for mentioning her. Bitch sounds like a heroin addict nodding off in the middle of a song.

and he simply reacted to it.

Sigh. Jesus Christ on a pogo stick, dude.

Uh huh. And when you said "I know people who think it is USA's fault", I was reacting/responding to THAT, thus why I said right before re-quoting the picture...

To re-emphasize: YOU started this point of discussion...

The insinuation is that much like in rambo, "someone else started it, but you finished it like a boss." Yet in each case, YOU instigated the discussion. I made a silly joke comparing illegal aliens to actual UFO aliens, and YOU responded wanting to play "20 questions" and "show me the data". We're only arguing because YOU wanted the opportunity to be right. And you aren't. So give up.

I should post about how tasty fresh strawberries are and see how long it takes for someone to make a responding post mentioning biden, a laptop, immigrants, borders, stolen elections, etc.

Give it time, Biden's dumb demented money-laundering pants-shitting alzheimers-having ass will probably meander in here before long and start posting about random shit like that. And ice cream. And hairy legs. But probably not Epstein Island.

Random made up shit. For example... Here he is talking about "gun trucks" that are like roach coaches,... which was never a thing.

https://twitter.com/greg_price11/status/1669786246497837065?s=20

And of course he mentions this in relation to wanting further restrictions on guns, and so it's obvious he's planting the idea in stupid peoples heads that there are ACTUALLY gun trucks where people are buying their totally legal guns to commit murders and school shootings with. Why else would he mention such a ridiculous thing?

And like I said about Putin and Azov Battalion neo-nazis in Ukraine... when Putin is trying to bullshit his people into backing his play in Ukraine, him using the "nazi's" thing at least has the benefit of being true. Meanwhile Biden's making shit up like "9mm's blow your lungs outta yer chest!" ::)

I didn't pick up on this being Quake Live and not standard quake2.

QuakeLive is a completely different game from Quake2.

I can see how that might've been confusing. My bad.
