What a time to be alive.

This is my to reaction to... just about everything these days. Pretty much just shake my head at it all and only feel pity.

It'd be beneficial for them if their own children were autistic, although the kid may not mutually benefit from being raised by people that dumb.

I'll be the first to say that Pelosi has found the long-awaited smoking gun.

Notre Dame gets Virginia next. They'll be in South Bend, but still, Virginia ain't no freebie this year. They are 4-0 right now.

And even if Virginia does beat them next week, they could still win the remaining 8 games and be somewhere in the top 6 come conference championship weekend. And they don't have a conference championship game like everyone else. They don't have to face a tough opponent that weekend and risk taking one more loss just before they pick the playoff teams.

They also play Michigan on Oct 26th and Virginia Tech on Nov 2nd. HOPEFULLY one of them can beat them too. If Notre Dame can manage to lost just 2 more, they'll be out of the running and far back enough in the ranks to not interfere with anyone elses chances.

For reference, Their remaining schedule is:

Sep 28 - Virginia
Oct 5 - Bowling Green
Oct  12 - USC Trojans
Oct 26 - Michigan
Nov 2 - Virginia Tech
Nov 9 - Duke
Nov 16 - Navy
Nov 23 - Boston College
Nov 30 - Stanford

See what I mean? Virginia is the only one with a better than fair chance at beating them. If Michigan wanted to be everyones hero for once, they'd kick the shit outta Notre Dame for the good of the college football community this year.

Virginia has a chance, and so does Michigan. VA Tech, Boston College, and USC are the next 3 teams to mention after those two and they ALL play at ND. That really fucking sucks, lol. BC is known to run the ball down team's throats at home(like they did against VA Tech). ND has 3 away games left: Duke, Stanford, and Michigan.

So that pretty much leaves Virginia, then Michigan. Shitty.

Saturday...

https://247sports.com/college/north-carolina/Article/Dabo-Swinney-Sam-Howell-Baker-Mayfield-comparison-Clemson-North-Carolina-136081454/

NC's Sam Howell is 80th in total QBR, but closer to 8th if you only count his 4th quarter stats. He's 7 for 8 on 4th downs. 4 games and even in defeat he has a knack for winning the 4th quarter and having all the momentum. When the pressure on, somehow with some luck, the kid does absurdly better. The pressure will be on the whole game against clemson and the spread is 28.5 pts. Despite NC having little to no chance of actually winning, I think I'll place a wager on +28.5.

Penn State v. Maryland on Friday. Penn St(-6) and the O/U is 61.5. Penn St hasn't been able to rack up the points this season like the last 2 years, and it's @ Maryland. A good wager is to take Penn State covering the spread parlayed with the under.

VA Tech is also playing at home against duke favored at -2.5. Might not be a bad one to take.

I only saw one of those, watched 90%of the game though. I probably saw the worst example though because it was bad. Looked like his teammate told him go down you're injured them they started messing with his chin strap and gave him eye drops. And yes, it was right after 2 huge passing gains. What was irritating the most for me is that notre dame's defense actually played well, particularly their secondary. There was one call that I think should have been pass interference. The contact wasn't bad at all, but he wasn't looking at the ball and there was a shirt tug. There was another borderline one as well but mostly saw some decent coverage. Georgia's ceiling with passing/receiving is higher, but they were executing at 70% and ND's corners at 90%. Eventually georgia had a few big plays and a good drive and a half.

Oh. It's irritating because it gave everyone pretext to say notre dame can go toe to toe with anyone in the nation, the georgia crowd was so volatile that nd would've won at home, etc-- resulting in nd remaining in the playoff picture. And the better georgia does, the better for them. Clemson is in. Wisco/ohio state, oklahoma, and sec. Should be ok.

The score should've/could've been 33-13ish. But that miffed punt reception, luck, and notre dame pulling that stupid shit. There ya go. Still, nd surprised and impressed me on defense. Media will exaggerate it tenfold.  :raincloud:

On a side note,  I finally won a good wager like I used to. I picked notre dame, Colorado, utep,  illinois, UCLA, and Colorado state to all cover the spread in the 1st Q. All as underdogs, 10$ to win $460. Taking the underdog to cover the plus spread for the 1st quarter is a handy gimmick for games that start out slow, works well in the nfl. Got lucky with all 6 though.

Cringe worthy to see notre dame's defense play decent then also get lucky with that dropped punt receive.  Posting this after their TD in the 2nd q. If Georgia's offense can start getting their shit together they should be fine though.

Did you watch how they lost? Georgia Tech ran for a TD with 4 seconds left in the red zone, but the coach was standing by the ref and called time RIGHT at the snap. No flag and both teams continued with the play. They scored for the win but they had to rewind it because of their bonehead coach then lost on HIS play he called timeout for.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the citadel beat Georgia Tech running the triple option the whole time. It even looked like Johnson's exact spread offense!!! Beat at their own game, by an fcs team, and their coach stole their winning TD. Poor kids.

Things from saturday:

-Air Force(colorado), army, and navy(ecu) all marginally beat their opponents
-Duke beats middle tennessee worse than michigan did(30-3 at half)
-Liberty beats buffalo worse than Penn State did
-The citadel beats georgia tech
-Penn st barely survives Pitt
-K-state > Miss st.
-UCF dominates stanford

ranked "upsets":
-BYU > USC
-AZ State > Mich St
-Temple > MD

closest games:
3 games above, florida kentucky, iowa iowa state, penn st pitt

Alabama SC might've been the best/most watchable game I saw.

I forgot to mention, wake played pretty well. They should have a good season. I was also impressed with UNC's defense.... NC had had only 1 drive with 1st downs. It was punt punt punt punt punt fumble punt punt lucky drive FG then more punting in the 3rd q. Allowing 24 pts and being on the field for 3/4 of the game or more wasn't bad.

Haha yeah, well he was actually were out of bounds with 1-2 seconds left no doubt about it but I wasn't too worried about letting the clock run out. Game was already over. What DID bother me is that NC stopped wake on their last drive on 3rd down outside field goal range. The refs gave a "generous spot"(via announcer, was more than a yard), then the moron held the far stick with the chain at a near 45 degree angle favoring wake's direction and wake "got" the first down by an inch. That stopped UNC's 4th quarter comeback. NC would've received a punt with 4 minutes on the clock, all their timeouts and down by 3 had they not been screwed by that shit.

But, they could've obviously done more the rest of the game so that one instance wouldn't have mattered. I had already lost hope, NC deserved to lose. But that comeback was great just like their other 4th quarters. I jumped out of my seat after they stopped them on 3rd down........but NOPE, refs said GTFOH HEELS  :peace:

Friday night's game between UNC and Wake forest is non-conference :lolsign:

Been awhile since they played. It used to be every other year, and I think the AD's got over waiting and getting delayed with the cross-division scheduling issues, plus the schools are an hour and a half from each other. So they scheduled one on their own.
