Meh, she hasn't said anything that would legitimately piss Rousey off. It's more or less just Rousey creating controversy, buzz, and hype in a fight where there would otherwise be none at all. Because it's a no brainer that Ronda's gonna destroy Bethe Correia. I said taking Rousey over Zingano was as much of a sure-thing as you'd ever get in sports. I was like... 99.99% sure Rousey was gonna win. This time... it's more like 105%. There's a better chance of crack cocaine being completely legalized all over the US by the end of this weekend than Rousey losing in any way to Bethe Correia.

So yeah, this is just Rousey WWE-ing it, trying to inject drama and intrigue into a fight that will no doubt be completely unremarkable.

Grudge? I guess. But considering it was Rousey and Dana White themselves who were talking about how Rousey was beginning to adopt this whole WWE style smack talk schtick basically for the expressed purpose of selling more tickets... then I don't believe that she truly truly HATES her. At least not like she probably hates Miesha Tate. And from what I hear, plenty of people in the UFC and MMA world have reason to despise Tate. And Rousey ended up breaking Tate's arm in a match when they were in Strikeforce, and I'm preeeeeetty sure that Rousey didn't necessarily have to wrench back on that armbar hard enough to cause that injury, she just wanted to.

Good. He's too old and too out of shape for it anyway. Out of shape? Yeah. He's never gonna admit to it, but the dude pretty obviously uses "something" (yes, I mean steroids) to get that big. And just because you look superhuman doesn't mean you'll always perform that way. After you use the shit for so long, it'll stress and strain the heart, which is precisely why so many professional wrestlers have tended to die at younger ages from cardiac issues. Lesnar himself even admitted that in the latter part of his MMA career, he wasn't fighting at 100%, which he attributed to his undiagnosed diverticulitis... which is self-delusion if you ask me. Dude's a total redneck too. He loves hunting, and I've seen him as a guest hunter on at least one hunting show. It's kinda funny seeing him posing for pictures with a deer he just shot. Some additional background:

Due to an injury, Cyborg was forced to withdraw from his match for the Metamoris Heavyweight Championship. Ralek attempted to find an opponent to fill in with three days notice but after calling 15 competitors who all declined, he called Ryron and he was quick to accept. Ryron will be taking the match on with only three days notice and giving a sixty pound weight advantage to Josh. When asked why he stepped up, he said, "I just asked myself, what would Helio do?" This match will be very interesting, with the David vs Goliath difference in weight, and of course, the style match up of catch wrestling vs jiu-jitsu.

Seems Grandpa Helio still casts a long shadow!

Pfft. Gracie's think their shit don't stink, but in the world of big time PPV fighting, they really made their name known with Royce in the infancy of UFC. And that was a totally different game back then. These days, EVERYONE practices a little in brazillian jiu jitsu just because you HAVE to to be a well rounded MMA fighter, otherwise you'll have no fucking clue what to do once the fight hits the mat. That's why you don't see any of the Gracie's in UFC today. They know they wouldn't be nearly as dominant as they were back when Royce was grappling folks with a less than adequate knowledge of it. He had an unfair advantage back then. Today... he'd get the living shit beat out of him fighting the guys in the middleweight division, which is more than likely where he'd be. Ya know, with guys like Anderson Silva, Chris Wiedman, Dan Henderson, Demian Maia, etc. Silva would make him look silly, Hendo and Wiedman would just pound him into a puddle of blood and guts, and Maia would probably beat him at his own game on the ground.

I don't think he's gonna know what the fuck to do when this guy starts hitting the living shit out of his face. Grapplings fine when there's a mat and both people agree it's just gonna be grappling and wrestling moves. But when you throw hammerfists with murderous intentions into the mix, shit can change quick.

So, despite Metamoris marketing/graphics department advertising it as a 'fight', it's in fact a non-striking submission only grappling tournament.

Which is fine, but the marketing seems a bit disingenuous.  (Or, well, potentially misleading?)

Ryron managed to hang on for 10 minutes, finally getting caught in a foot lock.

Great Match up and a nice finish. I was kind of shocked to see a Gracie Tap. Sonnen match was mmm meh!
