The Jedrzejczyk/Zhang fight was epic - definitely the best women's fight I've ever seen, and one of the best MMA fights I've ever seen regardless of gender.

I wasn't all that impressed by it, really. Yeah, they knocked each other around a lot, and it stayed a kickboxing match most of the time, but that's typical of any of Jedrezhbfgjk's fights. It looks like she's done a little to improve her POWER though, because
usually
if she gets an opponent that's dumb enough to stand there and sling gloves with her for 5 straight rounds, they don't come out with any swelling or cuts. I dunno what kind of fights she had before the UFC had women, but I've probably watched every one of her fights with the UFC, and to my recollection, she's never legitly KO'd anyone the fuck out (she may have gotten a few TKO's from overwhelming top position ground strikes). I've never been particularly impressed with her. When the division started, she had the best boxing and kickboxing skills but no power, and it was enough to outclass most of her competition. Competition is getting better though, and some of the women are starting to develop their power and accuracy,... and she's still the same as always.
I'm so incredibly bored by most of the womens fights. I tend to FFW through them because 90% of them end in decisions. Not enough of them fight with fury and urgency, they seem to treat it like it's just a "game" and the only object is scoring points. And the men sometimes do that shit too. And I'm not talking about the Romero Adesanya fight. The lack of activity there was due to Adesanya being a counter striker, him not wanting to give Romero an opportunity to land his massive power punches on him by initiating things too much, and Romero KNOWING that he's a counter striker and not wanting to initiate either. They're afraid to open up and get caught and maybe lose, which is technically different from the garden variety lackadaisical MMA fighter who plays for points, but indeed just as boring to watch.
The Dariush fight was my favorite from the card.

Jon Jones DUI and gun charge.

This has become so normal at this point that I just laugh.

I
had
watched every single damn event they did for probably the last 7 or 8 years. I'll typically download it a day or two after. And I keep
this
link bookmarked to help me create folders in my video folder named for the dates and names of the events. Last one I actually downloaded and watched was Overeem vs Harris about 3 months ago.
Maybe... I'll catch back up at some point???
Was getting kinda bored with it. Found myself FFW'ing through almost all of the womens bouts, and many of the mens bouts too. There's just certain ones where 30 seconds into round 1 you can tell by the way they're pawing at each other, "This shit's gonna be another 3 round snooze-fest. FFW FFW FFW."

I'm never current with it. Missed the last card and have no intention of watching it, tonight I am though. At least the main card. O'Malley vs vera has potential to be a very good watch. Stipe DC I have lower expectations for, but it could be a good one too. Of the other 3 fights.. there's a heavyweight slugfest featuring JDS, then featherweight and bantam with some ranked fighters.

It's ok to read this foc, no actual spoiler because the match was ruined basically. O'Malley twisted his ankle or possibly broke it in the first 5 seconds of the match and was TKO'd only 20 seconds in. Holy fuck. Talk about an epic let down. He was carried off on a stretcher because of his foot. This made the card terrible. I'm happy that I fell asleep right before JDS fought now, lol. Just crazy that happened to the guy that's perhaps the most fun to watch currently. Not taking anything from Vera, he's a bad dude. But vera didn't acknowledge the ankle thing and took all the credit lol. Cejudo and Cody both talked shit on O'Malley too. Everyone else with a brain saw it for what it was.

Still haven't watched ANY UFC event since probably the 2nd or 3rd event they held after covid hit.
I don't really miss it. It was getting kinda boring.
I heard that Mike Tyson actually fought Roy Jones Jr. late last month.
It was an 8rd draw. *wanking pantomime*
Now Evander Holyfield wants to fight Tyson in another shitty geriatric exhibition match.
Fuckin' idiots, both of 'em.
