Well it's not a "fight", if that's what you're thinking. Looks like it's basically two fighters being put on trial for something. For exactly what, I don't know. PED's would be my guess. What else do they usually discipline anyone for anymore? I don't think either one of them have been charged with or arrested for anything in their personal lives recently. Unless maybe the Nevada State Athletics Commission wants to punish Jon Jones for poking people in the eyes with his fingers during fights, hehe, not likely.

If your complaint is that they're using whatever the hell this is to inject drama and psuedo-scripted bullshit into the UFC by making this basically a PPV event, yeah, I can kinda see that. But I wouldn't worry about it too much. On the "UFC total bullshit that mindfucks the fans meter", this registers about a 2 or 3. I'm more concerned about the UFC's recent streak of PPV's where highly anticipated matchups have disappeared from the card because one fighter got injured or dropped or whatever other excuse they've had, like most recently when out of nowhere Renan Barao dropped out for "medical reasons". And the UFC knew that they had 1 or 2 previous UFC's where top billed fighters got taken off the card last minute or they were forced to completely cancel the PPV altogether, which is why they HAD TO find someone to step in for Barao to face Dillashaw. And from what I saw, Barao fucked up not showing up for the fight if indeed he pussed out like I think was his motive. Because Dillashaw looked a little more tired and weak for that one, not nearly the amount of output he had for Barao-Dillashaw 1.

Foc, I meant the fact that they are publicizing this imaginary disciplinary hearing when the confrontation was staged to begin with, not to mention on fight pass which is the most retarded thing on the planet. UFC has ZERO shame putting this staged "disciplinary hearing" on any kind of stream. OF COURSE I didn't think it was a fight, I meant when these two fight...

Oh. Well I didn't hear about any confrontation. But I do remember reading some shit on yahoo just the other day about how Dana White was kinda proud of Rhonda Rousey and that last chick who won on the PPV for making an intriguing backstory for a rivalry. The story also went on quoting Rousey as saying she liked how some of the girls on the current season of Ultimate Fighter were kinda playing up and acting a bit to add some drama to the show. Think she said something about comparing it to what they do in WWE with storylines and how it was good for business. Personally... I say fuck that shit. When I wanna watch WWE, I'll watch WWE. When I wanna see ACTUAL PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS fight, I'll watch UFC. Acting shit up for the purpose of drama and intrigue ain't "professional". So if that kinda shit starts becoming the norm, I guess I'll have to watch something else.

I watch WWE sometimes, but it's not like I LOVE that shit. I very very rarely ever watch the Monday and Friday night show on USA, but I'll often watch the PPV's because that's where the best stuff happens. But it's different with UFC. I absolutely DO NOT want to see that kind of shit happen in UFC. Sure, Muhammed Ali did that kind of shit, and maybe they think they're doing something similar and it's a-okay. I disagree though. It's not okay. Because apparently now, even the Nevada Athletics Commission is becoming a part of the "show", and if they'll go along with this, then what ELSE can they be schmoozed into going along with? These people are there, ESPECIALLY IN LAS VEGAS, for a good reason. Because if these people (the UFC) weren't accountable to anyone, they could literally force or pay off fighters to take a fall like the White Sox did in the World Series back in 1919. And if people are gonna be betting shitloads of money on these fights, they expect the NSAC to remain 200% impartial and objective while enforcing the rules that the UFC agreed to follow when they were granted the right by the commission to hold these events in Vegas.

...that was a month ago. Ever since they've been saying so much STUPID shit. I just watched a little bit of it and laughed. Maybe I'm overreacting. It's probably from me being always browsing social networking and ufc media websites, and getting absolutely OVER hearing about new drama that has spawned from those first 3-4 days.

I love this guy (Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone)! His whole "I don't give a shit" attitude about absolutely EVERYTHING. Doesn't study opponents apparently, doesn't care... maybe not a bad thing, I dunno. If you don't watch tape and formulate a gameplan, then you don't know what to expect, and will probably end up expecting ANYTHING, so that might be a good thing. However, if you know absolutely NOTHING about what to expect, then maybe you could end up underestimating one aspect of an opponents fighting style much to your detriment.

Also, is it just me, or... does he look fuckin' stoned? That would kinda explain the whole "fuck it" thing about him there.

Dunno if anybody else caught UFC 178 last night. It was pretty good. At least all the fighters showed up... for once.

For once, the chick fight was legit and watchable. Cat Zingano and Amanda Nunez looked like actual FIGHTERS. Zingano may advance to take on Rousey after this, but as good as she looked against a legit opponent like Nunez, I still don't think she has a hope in hell of beating Rhonda. But I guess Gina Carrano is supposed to be Rousey's next opponent, I'm not entirely sure. If so, I hope Carrano signed on to get a buttload of money whether she wins OR loses, because in my opinion, she has no fucking chance at all against Rousey. Carrano ain't shit. Never was in my opinion.

Second fight on the PPV card, Tim Kennedy vs Yoel Romero... well that one kinda did a great job of ruining the great vibe the rest of the PPV had going for it. Kennedy basically had that shit won when Romero was saved by the bell. Then his trainers leave the fucking stool in there and refuse to come get it and get their fighter off of it when the next round was supposed to start, effectively stalling for an extra minute or two to let their fighter recover his wits. Should've been DQ'd right the fuck then and there. I didn't really care who won either way, but it's bullshit when one basically cheats to accomplish it. In football, you can't fuck around and waste time because there's a play clock and you'll get assessed a penalty. Same shit should apply in MMA. You get 60 seconds between round to get water, advice, vaseline cuts, ice welts, etc. When that times up, you're supposed to get off your fucking stool and start the next round. Period. Just a totally bullshit way to end a fight. Fucking garbage.

This Irish dude, Connor McGregor... He's obviously pretty good. Still not completely convinced that he's title material though.

Cowboy Cerrone looked pretty good I guess. He doesn't fight entirely smart though. It was blindingly obvious in the 2nd rd that he was whooping Alvarez's ass with those leg kicks from the HUGE welt he had on his thigh, and his corner was calling for more of it in the 2nd, which he did once or twice... but then stopped. He should've kept after it like a rabid dog. When he finally hit it once or twice more in the 3rd and it crumpled Alvarez to the mat... he jumps on him and basically allows him the luxury of continuing the fight without his legs. Dumb move there.

Demetrius Johnson... jesus. I don't think anybody's gonna be able to beat this guy unless some freak shit happens where he snaps a shin throwing a leg kick like Anderson Silva did.

UFC 180. Didn't get to see it last night. Downloaded me a copy of it off piratebay this morning and watched it.

Turned out to be a decently entertaining card, almost sad I had to miss watching it live.

But Leslie Smith getting her cauliflower ear popped like a ketchup packet getting run over by a car tire... that shit was VIVID.

Just google "streaming sports" if you wanna find a free way to watch. The number of free pirate stream sites out there is dropping though. Wiziwig just went down to avoid mammoth govt fines and domain seizure, and several others have disappeared this past year. Just make sure you have something like AdBlock installed on your browser before attempting to visit one of the sites, otherwise you'll get ass-hammered with a zillion pop-ups and harassed constantly by several more once you actually find a stream and start watching it. FirstRow won't even let you start browsing the site until you disable AdBlock, but if you disable it, connect to the url, then re-enable it again once you start browsing the stream menus, you can kinda bypass their attempt to forcefeed you pop-ups.

Well, maybe a little shit. The rest of the card was pretty "meh". Usually Cowboy Cerrone fights are fun to watch, but Myles Jury fought like a pussy most of the time, trying way too hard to be "smart" and defensive and do lots of counters. Cerrone wasn't happy with the way the fight turned out either, probably because he was looking for a much more aggressive fight so he could get another fight of the night bonus added to his paycheck.

First 3 rounds of the title fight were intense and entertaining, but Cormier seemed to get a little winded by the 4th and 5th. You look at the size and reach difference between the two and it's utterly amazing that DC was able to hang with him for the first 3rd rounds at all.

Not one single KO or submission on the main card at all. The way shit's going in the UFC, the freebie fights they show on FoxSports lately end up being more entertaining than these PPV's.

Was very impressed with the way DC fought, He was within range the entire time and had sick head movement. He fought a good fight and was outclassed by a better fighter. I would expect these two to match up again, I really think DC is the number #1 contender still. Very hard to fight a guy who is 25 and you're 35 all things being equal which they're not . Jones was just as tired in the 5th as DC , shows just how good of shape dc was in , He pressured Jones and was tired in the fifth. DC might of been feeling it in the 4th before Jones. He claims he took the 4th off . Great match up good fight.

agreed misery dc fought well the 2nd best anyone has done against jones he landed several uppers made him uncomfortable a number of times but jones is great despite his huge reach advantage and coke problem lmao but baddest dude when on is still probably brown pride cain velasquez him vs fabricio should be closer than people are thinking though =p
