Finally got ahold of some dogfishhead 60 minute IPA, damn good stuff @ 6%.  Fucking Spec's were out of 90 minute IPA, but instead I got some shit called Breckenridge 471 IPA 9.2%, REALLY GOOD SHIT!  The double hopped effect makes it have quite a bite, and tastes like hell of grapefruit and bitter suckerpunch. 

Definitely want some 90 minute IPA dogfishhead, looking into ordering some 120 minute IPA too (although apparently it's not going to get shipped to Texas for the next 2 years because the brewery are a bunch of idiots & didn't brew enough).

I can see why IPAs are the bees' knees.  I'm pretty fucking drunk just off beer tonight, surprising since I usually only get drunk off of whiskey.  GJ IPAs.

cool ex, I'll enjoy a 60 minute ipa too but, keep in mind that's like the one I never get from dogfish head. Their best ipa is Burton Baton @ 10%, imo.

Although from the brewery getting extra dry hops added to a 90 minute(a 'randall') is pretty good too.

This would be my 2nd or 3rd choice that I'd grab by dfh, midas touch(not an ipa):



It's a little bit darker than a modelo or something, but it's also the smoothest and most drinkable 9% beer there is.. in general so you at least get what kind of beer it is, imagine a heavier honey brown, just without the color.

You'll be more likely to find 90 minute and midas touch, but if you see burton baton definitely get it.

Hehe, that shit happens all the time down on the southside of Atlanta where the I-285 loop around the city has a crazy looping ramp that merges onto I-75 south. Truckers that don't pass through that way on a regular basis have no idea how sharp the turn is and pay no attention to the speed limit sign for that ramp and end up flipping over when they lock the brakes up and jack-knife it. I feel bad for anyone that has to take that route home from work everyday. It's at least once a week that some bonehead does that.

Sipping homemade wine and tipping back a Schlitz or 2 in between. It's no coincidence that Schlitz sounds a little like "shits", because that's what it tastes like. It even pronounces the same way if you drink enough of them. Also got a 6 pack of some weird shit at the liquor store too. This Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye. 6.5%, never had anything like it before, figured I'd be a little adventurous. Probably drink a couple tomorrow or sunday. If it's worth a shit, might get some more to use in the smoker on Monday when I grill out. I usually fill the dripping bowl with beer to kinda steam the meat and tenderize it. Dunno if it actually does tenderize it, but it gives it a tiny hint of flavor in addition to the smokey taste.

Haha, my mom loves Schlitz because it DOESN'T taste bitter, tells me the IPAs I drink taste like piss.    TBH I can drink damn near anything, from blonde ale to imperial stouts, I like it all, although I must admit I have an affinity for the stouts and IPAs since they kick me in the teeth pretty hard. 

Sierra Nevada's makes a good beer, never been disappointed with that brand.  And yeah, adding beer while cooking to any dish does tenderize (moisturize) it.  My favorite is getting a good dark beer like Guinness Extra Stout and Worcestershire sauce on some sirloin steaks, makes an unbelievable flavor with the black beer and Worcestershire mixing with the smoke.  Another good dish I love making is beer chili.  I notice a middle-of-the-road brown lager is usually best as it won't overpower the chili flavor like the stronger brews will.

Foc: Ruthless rye is decent, I'd rather have it than any other sierra nevada brew.. err.. well maybe.. they just came out with a new 10.4% one, hoptimum. Original sierra nevada is mild and smooth also though..

Ruthless rye is half-way like a sierra nevada double hopped pale ale(see sierra torpedo x ipa), and half-way rye ale.. the rye ale half making it a little more mild. I don't generally appreciate the over-abundance of cascade hops in pale ales/ipas... sierra nevada and sam adams are both prone to doing so. Even ruthless rye is a little too much for me, tbh... but, I had a bunch of them on tap at buffalo wild wings on 2 diff. occasions and they were good.

^hoptimum is a new beer from sierra, typical strong/too much cascade hops, BUT, with this one they actually compliment it with some alcohol, so i'd definitely rather have this one then say, a torpedo X... i guess over-all orig. sierra, ruthless rye, and hoptimum are about equal in my book. depends on the mood.

Just killed off the last Lagunitas IPA, damn good for what it is.  Little sweeter taste than most IPAs but still that good hoppy bite.  A definite try if you've never had it before.

I just picked up some shit called Dogfish Head Raison D'Etre, a wild almost candy-flavored beer @ 8% abv.  Very nice and smooth beer with lower hoppiness (yet still obviously present), and the beet and raisin sugars really add a craziness to the overall structure of the beer.  Mouthfeel is excellent and aftertaste makes you glad you chose this one.  A good compliment to the more bitter beers as a nice way to spice up the night.

yeah I've mentioned lagunitas a bunch on this thread, it's actually one of my favorite breweries.

the lagunitas regular ipa @ 6.2% is very smooth, their maximus ipa is very good also, as well as Lagunitas - Littlle Sumpin' which is an 8.1% ipa-ish ale. those 3 are the ones I get usually from lagunitas.

They have other ones like hop stoopid, holiday ale, etc... that are all good though, 2nd best brewery in cali. #1 being bear republic that makes racer 5 ipa

oh.. and the lagunitas has a nice linger to the after taste, almost a wood/oak bite to a very smooth beer.. but on tap it's better :>

Nearly got some Racer 5 the other day, as well as Stone IPA...have to pick some up later.  Actually there's a beast from Dogfish Head called Palo Santo Marron @ 12%, which I noticed they were all out in the store.  I'm getting that damn beer one way or another, I do like a good beer.  haha

yep, I've had all of those. Santo marron is def. good, my 3rd or 4th favorite dogfish head. stone is also out of cali, it's a unique tasting beer but... never pass up racer 5..... EVER AGAIN. it is my favorite beer I think. 2 hearted ale is good as well though.

My apologies for not posting lately.  I was a little disappointed when the shitty excuse for an organized company that I work along side (I'm union, so I don't work FOR them) put me up in places that don't have a good internet connection (takes 25 seconds to load google).  It's not memorial day weekend on the LBI (long beach island, jersey), and aside from their being attractive pussy all around (that is, attractive until they open their mouth........... to talk, that is), there are some faster internet connections for me to mooch off of temporarily.  Unfortunately I don't feel like playing q2 outdoors on my deck so I'll just stick to posting here for now although I can't wait to get back in the game.

PALATE WRECKER by Green Flash brewing, San Diego.  Same brewery that makes "west coast ipa" that i reviewed months ago in this thread.  9.5%, I've seen it rated at "100+" and 147 IBU's.  This thing lives up to it's name without making you want to vomit (see sierra nevada, Hoptimum, as haunted mentions... that beer is so fucking hoppy... not just hoppy, but WHOLE CONE HOPS... such an under-ripe, piney flavor that it is really imbalanced imo).  Hoppy and smooth.  Not as good overall as the west coast IPA but it's basically a more concentrated version of it.  Not bad.  I'm on my 3rd one, 1 more to go, then I have a 12 pack of red stripe as backup (hooray?).

Last night I had 15 shots of seagrams 7 (mixed with diet coke) before I went out to this bar in ship bottom, NJ.  I was wasted and I basically hate the guido faggots (bundles of sticks) around here.  Luckily I didn't get into any trouble, I was mostly hanging out with women.  My coworkers are playing some fucking freshman in college game where they are willing to act like a queer fist pumping to a blink 182 cover band just to impress some 18 year old girl that looks like a 14 year old and claims she's a virgin even though she's one of the biggest town sluts around here that sends naked pictures to other guys I work with lmao.  That is not my style.  I got there and chilled but basically just drank a few beers and left.  At some point some random jersey bitch I talked to for a little bit asked me if I wanted to "hang out" that night and winked at me.  I told her "Nah, I think I'll go home and listen to Kreator." and left the bar.  Fucking RAPED.  I've had plenty of pussy in my life, if the chick is a bitch I'm gonna treat her like one rofl.  Fuck stupid sluts.  I mean maybe if I was desperate, lmao.  Don't know what I'm doing tonight besides getting drunk.  Here's to all the people who died for our country.
