Figured I'd make up for not drinking at the UGA game today by getting completely shitfaced and obliterated tonight. Got a fridge full of some Miller High Life, Fosters, and St Pauli Girl, as well as some homemade wine. I haven't drank myself silly in quite a while, so I'm probably gonna be regretting it tomorrow.

Got pretty fucking shit faced last night

Out here in Ohio the Oktoberfest community does their thing around this time. No clue why they don't wait till October but who the fuck am I to judge? The festival was pretty sick, they had Jagermeister girls in thongs walking around giving out shots to people (4 bucks a pop) which was decent because there was no bullshit involved in buying one from them.

Now the REAL fucking bullshit was getting a beer. First you had to wait in line to get "beer tickets" which were 1 dollar per ticket and the longest amusement parkesque line you'd ever want to stand in. Then, once you bought your "beer tickets" you earned the right to stand in the also long as shit "beer line" and the prices were kind of steep. 5 tickets per 16 ounce, 8 tickets for 22 and a whopping 15 fucking tickets for a 32 ounce that came in some plastic cup that you could refill for another 12 tickets. I enjoy the festivities but I was 120 dollars in the hole before I had a proper buzz. Was drinking Augustiner-Bräu München most of the night. Not bad btw.

OHH and there was a 10 dollar cover charge just to walk in the place.

I'm really good and sloshed. Had 3 long islands (extra-powered), a 3 rum punch, a grape punch, a beach something or other (fucking sweet as hell, not sex on the beach tho), and a double-shot of johnny walker red to finish. now i'm drinkin cheap whiskey chased w/ beer.

Oh man, some good beers this weekend.

Finally got around to trying Dogfish Head Midas Touch, really good 9%, reminds me of a good white wine actually in its high grapey flavor and saffron notes. Little expensive for $13/4 pack, but was worth a try and not disappointed!

Also tried Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, a sweet almost syrupy beer @ 4.7%, not particularly strong but for the flavor mixture it's worth a try. Strong coffee and dark chocolate all over this one, and vanilla bean is quite present in the mid-taste and after flavor.

Tonight I picked up some Shiner Oktoberfest, and if you like Oktoberfest seasonals, this one is worth a try. Most Shiner beers aren't this well flavored. It clocks in at 5.8%, so you actually can catch a decent buzz after a few. The nice thing about this one is the Märzen recipe they follow. They choose some nice malt and hops to put in this one, which is saying something because usually Shiner can fuck off as far as I'm concerned.

The only other good Shiner beer I like as far as flavor and strength goes is Shiner Wild Hare Pale Ale. It's a 5.7% and has a damn good flavor considering it's a "common" beer you'd find in Walmart.
