Warsteiner Oktoberfest marzen ist gut. I usually don't like Warsteiner and consider it the Budweiser of German beers (which is still lightyears better than the Budweiser of American beers, aka Barfweiser), but this stuff is really decent. Lighter and a lot less bitter than regular Warsteiner. This is one of the things I LOOOOOOOOVE about Fall. Football season, the holidays, and all the great Oktoberfest brews hitting the store coolers. Save some money before October's over, find your favorite, and then buy the fucking store out of everything they have, and proceed to drink on it until Thanksgiving or later if you have enough.

Between all the Warsteiner Oktoberfest and Paulaner Oktoberfest I have piled up in and around my basement fridge (yeah, I went a little nuts... YOW-LOW stereotypical ethnic ghetto-style individual!), it's gonna be Oktoberfest in my house until New Years.

Drinking this Scottish imported Innis & Gunn Rum Oak Aged beer shit. It SOUNDED tastier than it really is. I should've known better. Beer is a fermented beverage, but it isn't exactly something you should "age", and even this shit isn't really "aged". According to the label, it's been aged 57 days with rum oak chips in it. Pfft, it could sit on a grocery store shelf that long too, who cares. It does taste a little oak-y like I expected, but it tastes more like someone mixed some oak aged red wine in with some beer. 6.8% alc/vol too, which I never like anyway. I like my beer under 6%, closer to 5% preferably. Above 5.9% and the alcohol fumes kinda overpower the barley and hops. Just my opinion, not a popular one.

It's "interesting", but I wouldn't call it "GOOD" at all. Tastes more like wine than beer. Would NOT recommend.

Oktoberfest brews are all over now. Been kinda partial to this Leinenkugel Oktoberfest. Ist gut. WOULD recommend.

I don't drink much akka-hol anymore, I'm mostly a non-alka-ma-hol soda junkie now. But I still drink this Red Rock ginger ale regularly. They started carrying it regularly at the Publix near me a few years ago, and they have the 4-packs of full sized 12oz bottles at the Ingles grocery stores around here too. I'd prefer to shop there over Publix actually, they have a LOT more shit, more selection, but it's about a 25 minute trip one-way, so I only make the trip maybe once every 1-2 months.

Found out that that the reason why it's "spicy" like it is is because they add a small amount of capsicum to it, which is the oil in hot peppers that gives them heat.

I also tried out a 4-pack of the Red Rock Cola the other month. Basically tastes like a non-Coca-Cola cola (only Coke tastes like Coke) but with some kinda cream soda vanilla flavoring added.

Coca-Cola is fucking garbage though. I can't drink the shit anymore. I dunno if they changed it, but it's got kind of a perfume-y flavor to me now, just gross. I drink nothing but RC Cola now, sometimes Pepsi.

I bought a 12pk of it yesterday. Yeah, not so great.

Doesn't taste like watermellon like I thought it would. Has more of a weird chemical-y blue raspberry flavor with a tiny bit of watermellon maybe... on top of the regular lemon-lime + orange flavor that Mtn Dew always has. Would NOT recommend. Get it while you can though I guess. I don't see this one being continued much longer. I like the box design though, really crazy.

This shit is gooooooooooood. You can never go wrong with a Sierra Nevada brew. They've made TONS of things over the years, and I've only had a small piece of them, but never had a bad one.

usually I don like higher alcohol beers because anything over 5.9% or higher tends to get overpowered flavor-wise by the alcomohol. And that's a real word. Fuck you. Had some Sam Adams recently for the first time in a few years and... is it just me? It tastes... different. Its like they're adding some kinda fake hop flavoring to it. It tastes good, just... WEIRD. Whereas this stuff tastes AUTHENTICALLY hoppy. I live not too far from Chateau Elan, the biggest winery in the state, and I have friends around here who grow their own grapes and hops for wine and beer making. Real hops... they have an unmistakable smell and flavor. The ONLY thing they're good for are beer making. So I know a beer with real hops when I taste it. And this sierra nevada stuff is the real deal.

It's weird. I used to not like pale ale or india pale ale brews. But even the German shit I used to love like Paulaner hefe and Franziskaner hefe taste extremely devoid of hops now.

From a pic that's been on my digital cam for a while...

Saw this at my local Publix earlier this summer, from a tiny little unknown microbrew over in the neighborhood where my folks grew up and my grandpa lived before he passed back in '95. Call me crazy, but I kinda assumed that microbrews would actually give a damn about the taste of their beer and thus use an adequate amount of hops in the recipe. Apparently these people aren't really sticklers for trivial little things like "flavor". It doesn't have that weird chemical-y flavor like a lot of mass produced major brand domestics, but perhaps that's due to how utterly watered down this stuff was. I think it was like 4.2% abv, just weak as a baby fart. I don't think I've ever seen any beer with an abv that low before. If it were legal to make "childrens beer" kinda like they make childrens cough syrup and childrens aspirin, this would be childrens beer.
