Yea but Pink Eye is one of the most contagious things out there. And they're touching all over everything ??? Really ??? LOL
And thats right after watching "THAT" movie ? LOL. You can imagina how I fealt right at that moment. "Holy shit ! Pink Eye ? LOCKDOWN !!!! Thing is though wether I watched that movie or not, the mom showed a total lack of concern for anyone else whatsoever.

Pink eye is also one of the harder things to catch, like AIDS, HIV or HPV.  You need physical contact with an open area (in this case, your eye).  I have kids that have had pink eye, it's very easy to not catch. 

Now the cold or stomach flu, that's pretty darn hard to avoid!

The flu itself is one of those super viruses that these movies are based on.

In order for the virus in Contagion to work, it had to be fast acting, infectious, contagious, and deadly. However you can see lots of parts where they have to fudge with these ideas to make it work in the story. For example the virus is selectively touch only and airborne in different scenes. The gestation period changes wildly between people. The period that people are contagious is instantaneously as well as permanent past death...

Anyway if you look up the spread of diseases like Ebola and even the Swine Flu, it's entirely about poor hygiene and ill-equipped hospitals. One of the things that I really enjoyed about Outbreak is that they took time to explain this. Contagion just kind of relies on the audience ignorance and then builds a mood on top of it.

Rockem Sockem Robots: The Movie (Real Steel) 0/10

I got that for the kids when the wife and I went away for the night for my birthday.  They thought it was awesome (giant fighting robots, yeah!).  I thought it was OK, the father-son story was kinda stupid but the robot fights were cool.  I'd give it a 5/10 because the kids LOVED it and it kept them happy.

I understand now why this movie is being called Anti Corporate propaganda...because it IS! And in this day and age neccessarily so. And its delightfully heavy handed in its brainwashing...the "villan" is an industialist who makes his money selling Clean Air in bottles since his factories have polluted it all,and one musical number starring the guy who destroys the Truffalo trees in the first place is all about how his greed is justified because its Survival of the Fittest. And at one point he's on a poster with a caption saying,Too Big To Fail. But the Republican machine need not worry:even with all the song n dance the theatregoers still left their crap all over the seats so the enviormental conscience-raising is a failure in all but the very young. Its still a very entertaining movie,yet Danny DeVeto as the Lorax must be the oddest choice for that voice I can think of.

All of the original animated adaptations have been pretty good. The book was intentionally written as light political speech, as was other books (The Butter Battle Book, Horton Hears a Who, etc.). I know some people who won't watch the new one because it's a political film. I won't watch the new one because I know it's going to suck.

...Just like every single live action Seuss movie has.
