The Losers 9/10

I'm giving this one a high rating for 2 reasons. First, they blew plenty of things up without any attempt (which always ends up failing) at a real plot. Second, they didn't hold back on any reasonable plot points just for a contrived sense of making a sequel. They did try to set up a sequel but they didn't tank the whole movie in order to do so. It was more like adding a few additional resolution scenes for humor value.

Ended campy but I saw people blow up and get shot. And I honestly hated the bad guy. Too many high budget films have no interest in showing you a bad guy. Only identifying the main antagonist. Hooray for mindless blood and guts!

Demon Seed  (1977)

DVR'd this on TCM.  Was expecting some campy/cheesy sci-fi thriller, but it was surprisingly good (perhaps considering my low expectations? But anyway...)

Inception  (2010)

Really enjoyed this.  (Being aware of some of the plot contrivances being used to add tension and pacing to the story didn't bother me while watching it.  As one reviewer puts it: "Logic isn’t what matters most in Inception, though. For all the detailed talk about mazes and architecture and chemistry and neuroscience, the movie is most concerned not with the brain but with the heart.")

For A Few Dollars More 10/10

Anything with Clint Eastwood is usually awesome (with the exception of Bridges of Madison County ). Anything directed by Sergio Leone is always awesome. Most people prefer The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly, but out of all of the films from the Dollars Trilogy, I like this one the best. Compared to most movies from that era and earlier, the way the shots were meticulously planned is quite self evident and genius. I have to wonder why more people haven't attempted to make westerns in that style since. Apparently Leone got a crack at directing The Godfather and turned it down in order to work on something else. Would've been interesting to see how it would've turned out with him in the directors chair. I bet a lot of the cinematography would've ended up looking very different, and thusly several other films and video games since then would've mirrored that style the way they did The Godfather as directed by Coppola.

I just watched "Sherlock Holmes", the new one, with Robert Downey Jr.  It was pretty good.  Not amazing, but definitely entertaining and worth a look I'd say.  Maybe 7/10

Iron Man 2 - Liked it a LOT.  It's been a while since I've seen the first one, so can't give direct comparisons.  I'd say 8/10.

Battle Royale - Japanese thriller/action movie, one of the first I've attempted to watch.  Not very good.  I bailed on it about halfway through, then decided I'd finish it up.  Eh, the acting is often overdone or just not very good.  There are a number of killings done with guns, and they are just SO inconsistent and hardly realistic: 9th graders taking like 10+ shots with an uzi, then jumping back up, or having a few dying words to say... or taking ONE bullet from one of the villains and dying instantly.  Would not recommend - 3.5/10

Prince of persia : Crap/10. If someone would hand me that script id burn it.

Clash of the titans 6.7/10 : Worth the watch, but slightly over the top..
