I just checked out The Last Airbender, which I thought was pretty cool.  Lots of good action and martial art sequences.  It doesn't follow the cartoon down to the specifics, but it makes it a more serious movie whereas the cartoon seems very kiddish.

Lol not following the cartoon line specifics usually kills movies, like with dragon ball evolution, which was one of the crappiest movies i ever saw, 1.2/10

It was a bit more clever than I expected. A few jokes didn't rely on recycling content from American Pie 1-3, but not many. So I'd give it probably a 6/10 overall.

Toy Story 3:

I can't really say about the movie besides  and that's saying something.

I could award it three thumbs up if I it was physically possible for me.

The other choices were: The Last Airbender (Probably not worth it anyway), Predators (Probably worth it), Despicable Me (Totally worth it if it wasn't released at the same freaking time Toy Story 3 was shown and reshown.), a local movie about some guy saving an airliner or something (I just don't watch local.), and go watch freaking Twilight: Eclipse with my mom and her childhood friend (Just no.).

Predators: 6.5/10

It was defintely better than the second Predator although I can't remember much about it.  Some interesting new things, but like many of these new movies, looks kind of fake, and they try and do to much with it.  What they need to do is what they did int the first one: have the Predator come to earth, smash a few skulls, take some trophies home

The original was bad but in a funny way. It's a cult classic among a lot of Street Fighter players.

I haven't seen Legend of Chun-Li, but I heard it's really bad. After seeing this, I don't want to see the rest of the movie:

Slutty, Busty, and Bad - 10/10

This movie changed my life. Fuck that. 1/10. I remember the good old days back when porn actors/actresses actually could act. This movie is sooooooo bad. There's a part where Randy Spears is watching some blonde bimbo through her window, and the blonde gets on her laptop and starts talking to someone else via IM about her stalker... only she types it out as "stocker". As in, "Yeah, looks like I have a stocker." And she did it about 4 or 5 times. Jesus buttfuckin Santa Claus, who writes this shit? Awful awful awful awful.

Yeah. It wasn't scary at all, expect for maybe the ending. I think people thought it was scary because they haven't watched a good horror movie in a long time.

The Namesake 9/10

Not your regular movie. It's a chronicle of events that happen to a family ending with Kal Pen's character (Gogol) finally accepting his heritage in increasingly larger doses. Extremely well done. The only problem with the movie that makes it a 9 is a character that they insert at the end who is obviously giant mix of sex and the city characters. In a film in which every character is a realistic and believable addition to the story, the chick at the end might as well have been a green space alien that plays basket ball with bugs bunny. She is undeniably out of place and did not belong in the film. Everything else was spot on and extremely good.



The Sorcerer's Apprentice 8/10

They don't sacrifice any action for an attempt at an Oscar worthy script. The plot is a bit outlandish and described in a very rushed intro scene. This sets up the rest of the movie extremely quickly. In fact it causes the strengths of the film to get the audiences entire attention in order to prevent riding on the obviously weak plot.

The reason why I really liked the film was that the wizard battles DID NOT PULL ANY PUNCHES. They didn't pull a The Two Towers in which the 2 most powerful wizards in the entire world battle with low level "wind bolts", or a Harry Potter where kids shout dog Latin and battle the forces of mediocrity with nothing more than bright colors. (might as well skip the magic school and fight with freaking flashbulbs). Instead the wizards fire off a vast array of really cool effects to solve problems as they arise.

The magic is very inspired too. There are a few generic scenes, but they do not go without a joke to lighten the mood of the obvious faux paux. Most of the magic is inspired by a detailed attention to familiar high fantasy settings. The rest is culturally inspired. There are even quick references to the inspiration, like a Magic: The Gathering poster. (ok, so it was probably product placement but identifying with your audience and making money at the same time is not easy!)

So long as you leave 2 completely obvious gripes at the door, then you should have a good time. The first gripe being that a Disney movie is always going to be cheesy. The second is that Nicholas Cage is never going to stop playing Stanley Goodspeed in a different set of clothes. (unless he's playing Castor Troy on a different set of drugs)
