I just watched "Repulsion" from 1965. I'm not sure where I read that this was one of the scariest movies of all time, or best horror movies, or some sorta label like that, but I was thoroughly UNimpressed. I guess it was fairly graphic/gory, at times, for a 45 year-old movie. I think there was just a single moment that caught me off guard and made me jump a little.

Veeeeeeerrry slow to get going. It was "interesting" but I can't say that it was good. The girl playing the lead is a true beauty though.

Avatar : The Last AirBender 7/10

Having seen this at last,I cannot understand all the hate,and rabid hate at that,for this movie...had no expectations walking in,never saw the Nickelodeon cartoon so had no preconceptions of what was "canon" and what drifted erratically from it. Neither have 99.9% of the haters I suspect. Yet I understood the situation,characters,motives and the Eastern mythology it all swims in. Yes,the acting was wooden at times,the storytelling unclear on points,the 3d version barely 3d,and the modelwork too obvious to this jaded eye of mine (the castles looked like Lionel Trains should be running through them). But the martial arts were wonderful,the scenery sumptuous, the motivations of the characters understandable.Well worth watching if you can forgo blind acceptance of the dozens of critics who have condemned this out of hand.

The Runaways: 5/10

I'd I was expecting more from this movie.. I'm guessing if i was more involved in the whole Joan Jett thing itd be far more entertaining. Just a basic sex, drugs and Rock n' Roll movie. All underage girls, was a documentary so i guess it was decently done. Not my cuppa tea though.

I just think that the critics have it in for M. Night Shalamanabananadingdong since his last few movies weren't particularly amazing. I never thought ANY of his movies were particularly amazing, myself.

Shutter Island, 8.5/10

I heared mixed reviews about it, but I thought it was very good. The ending could of been better, but a crazy mental instutuion makes for a good movie.

I have to give a 10/10 for Bram Stoker's Dracula, going to watch Interview with a Vampire again : )

Either the storyline of this movie hits you or it doesn't, and it hit me like a truck, it's a bit too predictable but i still thought it was a good movie..

The Promotion 1/10

I'm so sick of these movies that hold contests to see who can put the fewest actual jokes into a 2 hour time slot. It's so lacking in humor that I almost think that it was supposed to be a drama. No matter what your tastes are in comedy, the fact is that a joke is the practice of setting up pins (people expectations of events) and knocking them down. This movie, as with SOOO many other comedy wannabies, spends a huge amount of time stacking pins on top of eachother and then asks Calista Flockhart to push them over. How are you knocking over pins if they were going to fall on their own? Every joke is pathetic and is better told in a conversation rather than acted out in a movie.

Reservoir Dogs... had never seen it. Eh, hmm... maybe a 6.5/10? I know its one of the more acclaimed movies out there, but I wasn't all that impressed. The acting was pretty good overall, but I guess the story, for me, wasn't that amazing. Had some cool scenes (EAR, OUCH!), but wasn't the amazing movie-watching experience I thought it might be.
