The Social Network 3hours/10
Long ass movie, just as dumb as I expected. It was erroneously described to me as the next pirates of silicon valley, but it really is a money driven mockumentary that is both disgustingly pro-facebook and needlessly "sexed up" to up the rating. The real story of facebook involves the downfall of myspace, the rise of web2.0 and the endless drum-beat of 2008 webinars of the value of personal RSS feeds (including twitter). This story focuses instead on who got screwed out of what money and why the CEO "isn't such a bad guy after all." In fact, they even mention bill gates in the movie, and he's kept entirely in a favorable light.
My favorite quote is "We need more money to upgrade to linux and apache"... traditionally both free technologies making the LAMP setup so favorable to small businesses in recent years. Had they spent time to discuss this, then the movie would have been much more interesting.

The Pacific - 9.8/10
Not a movie. It's a 10 part HBO mini-series that came out this summer that my old lady got for me on DVD. Pretty much the pacific theater equivalent of Band of Brothers. It was pretty good, although it skipped several parts of the war in the pacific I guess to make it fit within the timeframe of 10 one hour long episodes. I thought it was spectacular and beautifully done. I would've given it a 10 out of 10 but (and I can't believe I of all people am saying this) I thought it contained a few completely needless scenes of nudity. They could have left those scenes out or at least not shown the tits and ass and it would've been just as good. It added NOTHING to the series. Felt as though they did it
only
because, like they say in Hollywood, "sex sells."

If you're not being sarcastic and I'm not catching it, I'm dumb. But uh, I know of 20 women that come to mind instantly that would throw a fucking fit if facebook went down. Between their gay ass farmvilles and addiction to reliving the HS drama simply by logging onto that dumb ass shit, they'd instantly fucking bitch, moan and/or groan for weeks til it was brought back or some identical site is made to take it's place, haha.
but to get back on topic:
The Green Hornet - 4/10
Stupid as shit, Seth Rogaen is one of my more favorite comedians but I really think this movie was a flop. I laughed a couple of times but had a hard time watching the movie the entire way through without going back to my computer and playing euchre heh.
The Jerky Boys - 6/10
I remember watching this when it first came out when I was like 10ish? or so and thought I remember it as being hilarious...well, now that I'm not 10ish anymore and rewatched it, it's pretty funny, but not as funny as I would find it being younger
...it's aright, but I wouldn't recommend that anyone watch it for a good laugh either...the plot is dumb as shit but there are a few lulz throughout the movie.

I watched the green hornet as well, I found it a bit forced and although funny, not the best from seth rogen.
also facebook is fantastic if you use it for what it is for, social intereaction, events and a place to bitch and moan when stuff isn't going your way - the latter is probably just me. it is only troublesome and dumb when you make facebook your life, rely on it for everything and get wrapped up in the zillions of apps and shit it has., it ties in hand in hand with smart phone addicts, but it is equally retarded to assume it has no merits just on the stigma it has.

A friend of mine calls it "facefeces."
New Radio Complete Series 10/10.
The ONLY episode I didn't watch was Season 5 Episode 1. The one where they deal with Bill's (Phil Hartman's) death. To depressing. Besides that episode. the show's pretty much ~22.5 minutes of laughter each episode on a ton of discs. Proof that Phil Hartman, Stephen Root & Dave Foley are always funny.

Just watched: Dark water, District 9, and Surrogates
Coming up: A Scanner Darkly and Inglorious Bastards
Dark Water was great till the last 10 minutes, made me feel like the rest of the movie wasted my time.
District 9 was great all the way through, and I hope they do make a sequel.
Surrogates was a great concept, and done somewhat O.K. if not just a little predictable.

Inglorious Bastards
Probably my least favorite Tarantino film. Mainly because of the story itself. It took a historical period and completely rewrote it. I can't say more than that without spoiling the film for you, but when it's over, you'll know what I mean.
It left me feeling kind of... jewed.

Law Abiding Citizen - 2/10
FUCKING HORRIBLE plot. I'll go ahead and spoil it because, trust me, you DON'T want to waste your time watching it. The whole "Oh wow, this guy's so elite and super smart, what a super tough hard to beat bad guy, he's thought of EVERYTHING!" thing... fucking lame as shit. Just a lame shitty horrible movie all around in my opinion. Not very entertaining or engaging. Watch paint dry, you'll get more out of it.
And Jamie Fox is an overrated and overpaid stupid monkey. He was okay in Ray, but since then, he (and everyone else apparently) thinks he's the greatest shit since sliced bread.

Knight and Day: 9/10.
I hate everything Tom Cruise is in. Something about him seems like he's a pompous know it all jerk that's always wrong in all his movies. In this movie he's still a pompous know it all jerk, but his character is always right, and it's a nice change from everything else I've seen of him. I really liked this movie & it's the newest non-children movie I've liked in a while.
