EXTERMINADER is a known asshole who bans everyone that can beat him. He is a 50yo virgin who has tried desperately for years to hook up with "Debbie" who may or may not be a female

Ouch.

I've butted heads with him in the past. We're cool now. At least I think we are. I hope we are.

I don't think it's necessarily "beating him" that he gets upset by, it's people coming in and going full bore try-hard competition-mode when everyone else is just playing it casual and having fun. You have to keep in mind, this is where folks like Optica used to default to when DM would get too crowded for his TDM style item controlling tactics to keep his KDR up at a high enough number to suit his ego. He was used to stacking and controlling armors and mega, whereas the xatrix regulars would certainly USE the armors and mega, but it was obvious that they weren't making an effort to keep others from using them in order to always have the advantage.

So if they have a low tolerance for perceived try-hard-ism, that's why. If they banned anyone, hopefully it was him. Guy won't talk no matter how friendly you try to be with him, and he plays like a dick. I mean how hard is it to be nice and say hello just one time?

The Silent Mountain (2014)

Haven't seen it yet. Came across this youtube clip about it. A movie about WW1. Looks pretty interesting. Trying to download it now.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dszlIAF5zfg

I saw a couple of other movies about WW1 in the past few years...

1917 (2019) - was REALLY good. About 2 soldiers tasked with taking an important message to the front line warning the officers to call off an attack. From what I remember, apparently the enemy found out about the attack, knew they were coming, and were set up to ambush and slaughter them. Don't wanna say more than that lest I give it away for anyone who will want to see it now. You should though. Seriously, it's really good.

All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) - Was filmed in German, but dubbed pretty well in English. Usually dubbed movies kinda suck because the dubbed voices are completely void of the proper emotion... or they OVER-emote things... this one, the English dubs do tend to match the actors appropriately. About a German boy and his friends who join the war effort thinking they will become heroes, but quickly find out that they got themselves into a veritable "world of shit" as they say. Accurately depicts the horrors of WW1 as well as any movie possibly could. Not a happy tale at all, very sad ending and would be categorized as a "tragedy" as far as plays go.

From what little I've seen of clips of the 1979 version, I guess it borrows a lot from the 1979 version of the same name starring Richard Thomas, Ernest Borgnine, Donald Pleasance, and Ian Holm. I haven't seen that one all the way through, perhaps I'll download it too. And THAT one is a remake of the original 1930 version... which I ALSO haven't seen.

Ready or Not - finally fully released on Steam back at Xmas. 50 bucks I think.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjAFMd3tWb4

Haven't been playing it much, only on the 2nd level, and the first one is basically just a simple warm-up.

It goes from ridiculously easy in the first level, to ridiculously hard and annoying in the 2nd level where you enter the internal courtyard/breezeway of a hotel with two floors above you looking down with a couple of elusive baddies wading back and forth behind the railings where you can't see them until they open up on you and blow the shit out of you. And every time you try to detain one of the civilians, inevitably another bad guy comes out and blasts you're busy cuffing them.

He's gonna spend his time posting my old shit as if that somehow effects me.

That's kinda like money though... cuz I still get to live in his head rent free.

Stay mad, Brody. Fight the good fight.

I'm done with this shit.

Good. Thanks.

Replying angrily to me is not being "done with this shit".

Jesus wept!

Did he?

no wonder i committed to ignoring you!

Did you?

you can't fucking help yourself!

Can't I?

ps = yer boyfriend beaver's bant. Not coming back. Ever. Come to terms.

pss = You keep referring to me in a negative connotation as a "dog". Apparently something happened in your formative years to put you off to dogs. Personally, I love dogs. They're fun, they're always so glad to see you when you come home, they love you unconditionally, they're just great. I really think you should give dogs another chance.

Folks, never give up power over anything you've made and/or own,

You're diverging from reality again.

she never made any maps, she converted maps to the Q2 format and then made overrides for item placement, that is all.)

For your version of reality to make sense, one would be required to operate under the assumption that she got permission from each and every one of the original map makers from other games to convert those maps to Quake2 maps. So perhaps your advice would be better aimed at the makers of the maps that she converted... because she didn't make any of them.

Imagine me stepping on the throat of an unwanted rabid barking stupid backward hopelessly self-ignorant self-convinced BRAZEN HYPOCRITE of a dog and saying "breath you stupid dog! no one is trying to stop you from breathing! my boot belongs on your neck! how dare you suggest it doesn't! if you don't stop pretending to choke your going to annoy and irk me somewhat and then i'll have no choice but to tie a huge rock to your neck and throw you in the river!"

You can imagine whatever you want to, but... that's kinda why we're where we're at here. You imagine shit that isn't real - I point out reality - You get upset that I don't support "your truth".

I don't even care about SpawnGirl, i never did, i never even interacted with her, ever, lol.

Thanks for proving my point pretty much word for word.

Anyone attempting to tell this story any other way was never her friend and never had any contact with her.

I'm done with this shit.

Good. Thanks.

I don't think what ultimately happened to Laura was unfair.

 :bravo: Yes. Thank you.

For the zillionth time, (but for the benefit of anyone reading THIS thread and not one of the numerous others rehashing this same issue),...

the truth is: EVERYONE around here genuinely wanted to be her friend. I was her friend for as long as she would allow it. When she first showed up, I was one of the first friends she made around here. I recruited her into EoM. Unfortunately, her conception of a "Quake2 clan" was informed by watching how CRU (Campers-R-Us) would team up against people on the Vanilla and DM servers. While playing on a server with her... I fragged her, and she got upset and quit the clan on the spot. I later explained to her that "normal" Q2 clans do not team against others on an FFA server because it is considered poor sportsmanship. We remained friends, she rejoined EoM. A day or two later, I ran into her again on Vanilla, I shot her, and AGAIN she got upset and left the clan on the spot. This time I did not attempt to talk her into rejoining again, as clearly she would've been happier in a clan like CRU. And so... she joined CRU. Before long, she got upset with them over something silly and gameplay related and left that clan too. She began making overrides for xatrix mod. Quadz and others gave her lots of help figuring out how to do it properly. She even started her own clan. But for some reason... (I'm not aware of the particulars) she got upset at people in her clan, and kicked EVERYONE out of the clan. The people she kicked out of her clan wanted to continue playing Xatrix and her overrides. At some point, she began threatening to sue Quadz over the usage of her overrides. Long story short, she became too much of a potential liability for Quadz, so she was banned. I'm not sure how it works, but they came to an agreement with some sort of license that would allow Tastyspleen to legally use the content that she "created". (It was not original content - she never made any maps, she converted maps to the Q2 format and then made overrides for item placement, that is all.) It was a perpetually repeating trend - she'd find a reason to get upset with EVERYONE she came into contact with.

Anyone attempting to tell this story any other way was never her friend and never had any contact with her. If they ever did become her friend, inevitably that friendship would've ended with her manifesting a reason to become upset and add them to her ever-growing list of enemies.

Can I sympathize? Sure. It's gotta suck going through life not being able to maintain any stable relationships with anyone.

But I'm not going to patronize someone with a mental malfunction by treating them any differently than anyone else. It's not that I don't "respect" everyone... which I don't, because respect is EARNED. Courtesy, on the other hand, should be given freely to all until they refuse to give it back. I don't care what condition you have, no one is above anyone else in this life - Sam fuckin' Colt made sure of it.

Just shut up you pointless sack of shit, nobody left around here agrees with any of your views or wants to see what you write and everyone around here (everyone, believe it) is sick of you deliberately driving people away from this forum.

SgtDick agrees with me. Railwolf agrees with me. Hell, even Shloo probably agrees with me.

Costigan chooses to live in an alternative reality

Keep proving who you are.

You still miss the point of this. When you post to people talking about Quake shit or anything else, that's just you being a normal person and I don't jump in the middle of it because I don't object to it - why would I?  But when you post misinformation, I'm gonna fact check you because otherwise disgruntled youngsters like you and fader are gonna be convincing everyone that this community treats people unfairly... spreading that narrative should concern you since you seem to be so concerned that I could be driving people away.

Was any of that supposed to prove a point against anything I said? You mistake this for a petty attempt to troll you. No, I don't care about trolling you, just setting the record straight when you attempt to misinform people. If I wanted to troll you... I'd make fun of you saying things like ...

deigned to bother to lower myself to your level to directly address

... but alas, I wouldn't bother to deign to stoop to bow to denigrate myself to do a thing like that.

Go ahead and give out whatever you wanna. You ain't gonna hold that over me. I don't care. Play your little games. Keep proving who you are.

These six points brought here by Costigan, are as true as sad.

True? No, not true.

Let me speak some unfiltered truth to the class. Any admins or community members who disagree with me, feel free to critique or debate this assessment if you disagree with any part of it in the slightest.

Costigan chooses to live in an alternative reality where he isn't responsible for anything. He hates the administration personnel, and has harassed and cussed out many of them in repeated lengthy private messages on discord. Sure, that's old shit that happened many months ago, and so in his mind (the alternative reality I mentioned), it isn't worth considering, and even if you did, he was mad at the time and any emotion he feels like expressing at any time is completely valid because he is Costigan, and Costigan does no wrong. The admins naturally disagree with his warped view of reality and of course naturally believe that EVERYONE is responsible for their own actions, and have held him accountable for those actions on numerous occasions. He disagrees with that policy as it contradicts his reality and calls into question his worldview. He responds by campaigning against them with dramatic disapproval for every action they take, as evidenced in this thread.

No. I'm not going to sit here and say nothing while a malignant crew of you attempt to re-write history. I liken claims that this community has systematically victimized certain people to similarly preposterous claims that this country is "institutionally racist". BULLSHIT. Show me. Just as I've lived in this country long enough to see plenty of evidence that institutional racism is illegal, non-existent, and countered with "institutional equity", I've been in this community long enough to see how unbiased and largely "hands off" the administration tends to be, and how they have no motives or agenda other than keeping the games fair and cheat-free, and keeping the boards semi-civil.

The fact that this level of bullshit dissemination is allowed to be posted is proof of how hands-off they are.

Feel free to be wrong. You have that right in Tastyspleen. But know that... you ARE wrong.

What folks post here goes to the discord channel the same way it was posted the first time. So if you edit it, it doesn't matter.

Im pretty sure posting porn on here is a banable offense.

I think our eyeballs got off light though. That whole crew is more into kids than fat women.

WTF kinda monitor are you using to where you have 3840x2160 res, but 800x600 widescreens out across all of it, and then the resulting screenshot is an old style square monitor size. Is the game actually taking the 800 width and stretching it all the way across making it look squashed or do you get black bars on the sides? When I take screenshots, they come out a similar ratio... but I've got a game res that IS that resolution and I have black bars on the sides.

Also curious how well a monitor like that handles fast paced games like q2. When I bought, I made sure to get an old school style TN panel LCD monitor, Benq Zowie 27 inch, which I've got set at about 165hz. The new gen consoles are supposed to put out 120.

I was using some Dell IPS panel monitor for a while, and the colors on it were much more accurate and realistic than this thing - it kinda blooms the reds a bit in a funky way. It was also bad about "ghosting" even though I think the refresh rate was at 60.

Since I started playing at TS back in 07, I had used a little old Benq TN panel, 1024x768 res. I played on 30hz for about a decade before I finally discovered... "oh shit, this thing is running at 30 but can go to 70." And that's the whole reason why that monitor lasted that long too. About 6 months after I kicked it up to 70, it finally burnt out. But no matter how low I went with refresh, no ghosting on it.
