The Eagle 8/10

I am a history buff,and like anything about Rome. This movie had the interesting perspective of being set entirely in a half conquered Brittan where the son of a disgraced legionarry comander tries to rstore honour to his family name by tracking down the regimental eagle that fell into enemy hands when the legion was massacred 20 years previously. It was intriguing seeing Celtic tribes portrayed in all their rancid nutsack glory. Nicely photographed,enough action and a fun tale well told.

Was sitting here watching TV a few minutes ago when they come on with a commercial for this new Napoleon Dynamite animated series on Fox. I once had an extreme lapse in good judgment and subjected myself to the "chinese boring torture" that is watching Napoleon Dynamite. Without a doubt, the dumbest most retardedest stupidest comedy-free waste of time in the history of the world. HOW THE FUCK DID THIS MOVIE EVER BECOME POPULAR? No, really, someone explain it to me, because I can't fucking understand it. It's just sooooooooo fucking stupid. It wasn't even REMOTELY funny, not even once. And now they're gonna make a fucking weekly series about it!?! Are you fucking shitting me!?! I guess they finally ran out of spin-off ideas for new CSI (and similar cop dramas) and medical/hospital drama shows. Seriously, I think we're finally reaching the finite threshold where there is NOTHING left to make movies or TV shows about that hasn't already been done, so now we're forced to recycle and remake everything. Yes. Time to start reading fucking books again, I guess.

Napoleon dynamite was amazing....The soundtrack you should understand is a compositional masterpiece. The plot put me on the edge of my seat. And the character pedro was so well played by Efren Ramirez that it brought a tear to my eye. I give it 2 thumbs up.

Another Alien movie... awesome (I just hope he didn't add all the pointless crap he said he would if he did Alien now a days). It better focus on the alien & situation, not the "stories" of the characters.

I'm on 56k dialup so YouTube is pretty much off limits to me at the moment. If we're talking about another Alien movie as in the same Aliens HR Giger designed, then hopefully they won't butcher the hell out of it by using way too much CGI for the aliens. I thought the first two were very nicely done with basically puppets, especially the first one considering it was the late 70's and a lot of people were still using crappy stop-motion animation of statues which mostly looked horrible. Remember the old Clash of the Titans with Harry Hamlin? Yeah, that was a cool movie, but the stop-motion animation in some scenes was pretty cheesy. You'd think these days, they could have enough money and experience to use some really detailed puppets and camera trickery to reproduce the same Aliens we know and love from the 80's. Computer shit just looks cheesy, not to the same extent as stop-motion, but pretty close. Like the Lord of the Rings movies. Sure, those movies were done very well and computer graphics were nice, but the body and facial movements of Golem looked pretty unnatural. I gotta think they could've used some really super thin Holocaust-ish looking actor and prosthetic makeup to make Golem look a little more real.

I feel the same way. And I don't think I've seen these many commercials for books in my life

I just checked netflix right now, and there is absolutely nothing to watch. The sad thing is, the only interesting films to watch are porns

What happened to the good movies? Where did they all go?!

Sucked. Not sure I can come up with a 1 out of 10 rating for it. All I can say is that they actual tried to make it suck. So in a way it's a success!

Warrior - Amazing/10. Emotionally provoking, heartfelt, great story great writing great fighting. Watch it!

Contagion - 8/10, not generally a fan of the 'ultra realism' type thing, but, very good, loved kate winslet in it.

MIB2 - always fun, will smith is the best. 10000000000/10.

Sherlock Homles 2 (2011) - 10/10

I like the series. Hope it continues. It's not exactly the greatest movie ever, but it's the best they could possibly do with the series. So They deserve a perfect score for playing with a money grubbing sequel handicap.

Last movie I saw was 'Less Than Zero', about the darker, coked out side of the late 80's ALSO with Robert Downey Jr.
Not really a tear jerker but an interesting window into a better decade of America.

It was a badly predictable 5 minute story stretched into a full length movie. Definitely something that never should have been made.
