There's 8 movies in the entire Hellraiser series, believe it or not. Basically, don't watch anything past Hellraiser 3 unless you're a big Clive Barker fan already. Like Peewee touched on, the last few seemed to "borrow" their plots from other films.
I saw Hellraiser 6 before watching 5. They have the exact same plot with the different characters. I just happen to like it. It wasn't a gore movie or really about demons. It was a psychological thriller in the vein of In The Mouth of Madness or Dark Corners. I just liked it. I can't imagine how a diehard fan of the original Hellraisers could ever like it, but I did.
