I saw that Watchmen movie the other day.

Had to watch it in parts, 3 hours is too long for a movie.

Typical comicbook movie really. Although I've never heard of that dr manhattan character before the movie, pretty sick concept for a super hero.

Fave part was when Rorschach douses that prison thug in the face with the contents of a deep fryer. While the guards are subduing him he shouts, "I'm not in here with you. YOU'RE IN HERE WITH ME!!" to the other inmates who want him dead. That shit was Badass+1.

GI JOE

8/10 Enjoyed it quite thoroughly. The weaponry and vehicles were in classical GI JOE style. Action all the way through and the characters were spot on. Can't wait to see the sequel.

Is "the happening" really that bad. Everyone keeps saying it sucks, so i'm inclined to watch it hoping it's good

My favorite quote about that movie is "The only thing that's happening is that M. Night Shyamalan's career is coming to an end"

The plot is absolute trash and the acting is nothing to talk about. But as for disturbing horror sequences, it's not so bad. Just imagine a different plot the whole time. Or pretend that there are zombies. Actually one good solution is to fast forward until you see someone die and then rewatch that scene solely for the purpose of watching that person die.

Oh and the ending, avoid the ending like the plague. It rivals the Myst for least relevant and worst written ending in the history of the entire world.

Schindler's List.

Wow. I had no idea what this movie was about until my wife told me to go get it and watch it.

Such a downer. But in an emotional way. Extremely well done movie wise. The end how it seemed Schindler turned his lust towards money and women to saving Jews. When he broke down at the end and was assessing what he could have sold to get one or two more lives out of the way and safe was really powerful. Liam Neeson delivered on this. I enjoyed seeing his character coerce the Commandant (Feines) that mercy and pardon was a sign of power was really poignant.

Yeah, definitely one of the best movies ever made. I wasn't too keen on the usage of black and white until later in the movie when the little girl in the red dress came into it. A brilliant way to replicate the era as well as add vital emphasis to certain parts of the story. I don't think most people really think about it like this, but with the subject of the Holocaust, it would be extremely hard to make a movie based on that anyway. The truth is that there were very very few survivors. When the Allies began pushing closer and closer to Nazi Germany and approaching each one of the camps, Nazi troops simply liquidated them all and fell back a day ahead of the incoming assault in hopes of reinforcing the already weakened and battered defensive lines. Obviously it would not be a very good movie without some degree of a happy ending. This story was one of the ONLY good outcomes of the Holocaust. Some of them died even AFTER the camps were liberated. They had to keep them all inside the camps until doctors could arrive and check everyone. They couldn't immediately feed them after such a long period of extreme malnutrition because it could have killed them. How bad would that have to suck? "Yay! I'm saved! Now I'm dead anyway. Fuck."

finally saw slumdog millionaire from a red box the other day...

pretty interesting flick. i would suggest it to any self loathing Americans who think the U.S. is so horrible...
