Looks like I'll be in savannah for the rest of football season.. Hopefully savannah doesn't have many jackets fans ;)

I doubt it. Up where I live, which is a stones throw from Athens, most everybody is part of the Dawgnation. Even in downtown Atlanta where Georgia Tech is physically located, it's about 50/50 for GT and UGA. Georgia seems to be bigger fan base.

Pretty fuckin' weird for my two teams today. I was thinking without Gurley, Georgia would be seriously fucked against Mizzou. Nah. Not hardly. A 34 to nothing shutout!?! And to think I would've put my money on Mizzou if I would've been betting today. Mind officially blow. Georgia actually decided to play some defense all game today for the first time all year.

Then on the other side... Georgia finally knocks off Miami last week for the first time in probably half a decade. In doing so, they finally break into the top25. Their next game for today is against Duke, a team that is historically bad and hasn't beaten Georgia Tech in 10 fuckin' years, which means not even ONCE since Paul Johnson became the coach. And of course now that they're actually ranked for the first time in 5 years, what do they do? They lose to fuckin' Duke. ::)

So yeah... I think this tells me I should NOT bet on college football for the rest of the year. Nothing is a sure thing anymore.

Mississippi State's up 21 to 6 on Auburn as of right now with about 6mins left in the 2nd quarter. Figured Auburn would put up more of a fight and probably win it close. And anything can still happen. But more than likely, Mississippi State's gonna run it up on them. So it's looking like the West might settle out to where the winner of the Mississippi in-state rivalry game takes the SEC West. Meanwhile in the East, Georgia's finally clearly claimed the #1 spot, but 5 out of their last 6 games are gonna be tough conference opponents with Arkansas, then Florida, then (cringe) Kentucky, then (cringe) Auburn, then an easy game against Charleston South at home, then finally a much improved Georgia Tech. And they could conceivably lose to Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Auburn, and Georgia Tech. In fact, I kinda expect them to. But after seeing how they did against Mizzou today, I do still hold out a little tiny bit of hope. Doesn't much matter in the long run though. Even if Georgia wins out the rest of the regular season and takes the SEC East, there's NO WAY IN HELL they're gonna beat whoever shows up from the West for the SEC Championship game.

On the other hand... crazier shit has happened this year. So as sure as I am that Georgia would never be able to pull off a SEC Championship against a much better top to bottom West division team... it could happen and there's no way I'm putting MY cash money up against it. But for the sake of the entire SEC, I kinda hope it doesn't happen. Because if it did, Georgia would end up being the sole representative for the SEC in the playoffs, they'd lose BADLY, and end up making the whole conference look horrible.

Haha I bet on duke over ga tech today man. (Did 2 parlays, duke and dogs, mizzou and tech)

GA Tech is decent but it seems like a dice roll(is this team going to get exposed by ga tech's style, OR not). I know I could call the outcome of UNC's games a dice roll, same with several other teams, but GA Tech's seems like a uhhh.. more predictable dice roll? Haha. I was surprised GAtech beat miami too a bit, but duke has a REALLY good coach. Hilarious enough, it's similar to Coach K in basketball. Producing results with the least amount of money, resources, and recruits. The dude went 10-1 last year with a team of tuba and trombone players. For a smart coach like him, I had faith in duke a bit to be the team to "not get exposed", although it was close.

And jeez, I decided to bet on UNC today and i might get extremely lucky here. NC has done some good stuff offensively.

Other teams I had/have winning today:

FIU>tx san a., ODU>UTEP, ECU>S. FL, Arkansas>Bama, penn state>michigan, Houston > Memphis, BC > NCstate, and 1 or 2 others.... all of the ones I listed are "upsets" aside from ECU > S. Fl, lol.

I was really pulling for UNC over Notre Dame, but it didn't happen. It would've made the rankings from #6 on down shift more than they already will, and while Mizzou was ranked 23rd and it was anticipated to be a much closer game that it was, I don't think the win is gonna help Georgia's standing all that much. TCU is probably gonna end up beating Baylor, which will definitely help #9 TCU, and maybe #10 and #11, but probably not much more than that. Then again, Baylor and TCU could just end up swapping ranks and that'd be the end of it, but it's more likely that Baylor would drop out of the top10 but not too far out.

Miss St. over Auburn won't do much. I don't suspect Auburn will sink out of the top5 from the loss. But if Texas A&M can rebound strong against Ole Miss later tonight, that's gonna have some major impact on the whole rankings list. Most everyone else that was ranked highest won today, so nothing major should happen with the rankings on Monday. There is the chance that if TCU beats Baylor and Texas A&M upsets Ole Miss, the pollsters might look at Georgia's MUCH improved defensive performance along with HB Nick Chubb's performance in Todd Gurley's absence as a sign that they deserve to be ranked higher, and they could possibly leap-frog a few folks up to #6 or 7, buuuuut it's a slim chance. I anticipate them remaining outside the top10 come Monday, which would be for the best. Hopefully the pollsters aren't still looking at Mizzou as if they're the same team they were last year, because they're obviously not. If they really wanna look at someone doing impressive stuff in the East, they might wanna take a closer look at Kentucky. Kentucky ain't no joke this year.

And neither is Duke apparently. Georgia Tech still could've won that game, and probably should've, but they had some "issues" today, primarily turning the ball over, which they have been pretty damn good about NOT doing this year until today. Did get a chance to see Georgia Tech's backup "QB" though in the 4th quarter. Honestly, I don't see why Paul Johnson has decided to go with Justin Thomas over this dude. He's a much bigger guy with more arm strength. Maybe he's not quite as fast running as Thomas, but he seemed to display a good ability to make up for that fractional loss of speed by using his arm strength to hand-fight and break tackles like a good runningback should be able to do.

ACC Coastal is gonna be a little odd this year. Right now Virginia of all fuckin' teams is sitting in first in the division being 2-0 in-conference despite the fact they're 4-2 overall. Virginia goes to Duke next week, and who the hell knows how that'll go. If Duke ends up winning, that'll create a lot of possible scenarios down the road and keep things open even for North Carolina sitting in dead last. Meanwhile in the Atlantic division, Florida State is almost guaranteed to win it at this point. Louisville and Boston College are really the only two ACC opponents they face with any hope, and it might end up being just Boston College if Clemson ends up beating Louisville tonight.

Georgia might be facing an undefeated team at the end of the season, haha.

I see my man Driskel came through again.  His fumble led to LSU's first TD and his second INT led to LSU's game winning FG.
FLA is an average team, they cannot give up easy points and hope to win.  :raincloud:
FLA should have won, even with the mistakes if the FLA guy could catch the wide open ball in the endzone  :dohdohdoh:

NC threw the game--literally. Missed fg, blocked fg, blocked extra point, 10 terrible penalties with several turning the ball over, and to ice the cake a shovel pass straight to a Notre dame defender at the end of the game.

Missed fg was a 23yd attempt lmao

Gurley? He's not gone yet.

Psst... Wanna know what I heard? The word is apparently he's been instructed to report for practice this week. Does that mean he'll play against Arkansas? Dunno. Maybe yes, maybe no. It's been suspected that this whole situation might've been a blackmail/setup kinda thing... and it's starting to look like that's exactly the case. The lawyer that this local sports memorabilia hocker has secured for himself is NOTORIOUS for representing crooked individuals. Knowing that, in my opinion, Gurley will most likely be back before too long.

http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2014/10/10/6959223/bryan-allen-todd-gurley-autographs-suspension

Whoever told me last night what the lawyers name was apparently got the name wrong or I heard it wrong, I dunno. But to show you who I thought it was... and pictures say it ALL about this guy...

Bruce Harvey. Yep. Shirtless. Showing off his badass tattoo. Ponytail, even though he's balding with gray hair. This guy's a piece of work. He's the epitome and total embodiment of what everyone hates about lawyers. Apparently he's gotten quite a few people out of some tough spots with the law around Georgia for a number of years. But most judges around this state can't stand his fucking ass and cringe when they hear he's gonna be showing up to represent someone. He's the LAST guy I'd wanna hire to represent me. Sure, he's pretty good, but he's crooked as shit and can potentially be a liability because of how much judges hate him. It just depends on the judge though. And this is all hearsay, just completely talking outta my ass here, I have no proof of this (just in case he reads this and wants to sue me for anything), but he's the kinda guy who "might" slide an envelope of something green and papery (NOT money) under the table and your case "might" mysteriously get thrown out for some technicality.

The guy actually representing him is Ed Garland. He's not entirely as bad as Bruce Harvey, but he's the type of guy you hire if you're guilty as hell and facing serious serious consequences. And it's basically WORSE if you hire this guy. He's a lot more expensive. When you're thinking you've done something to egregiously fuck yourself, he might be able to help you unfuck yourself a bit, but you'll be fucking broke by the time it's over.

The Bucs Suck

Flacco is a good QB, but the Bucs made him look like a HOF QB - He threw his 5th TD of the game, 1 minute into the second quarter.
I am pretty sure that is a record.

Meh, the Bucs stink, old news. But at least they aren't Jacksonville. And hey... if the Bucs come in dead last this year, they might get the 1st overall draft pick next year and get to snag Todd Gurley. At least you'd have ONE player that didn't suck.

Meanwhile the Dallas Cowboys manage to somehow beat the Seattle Seafucks at home, and now all the media dickheads are jumping on the bandwagon automatically assuming that Dallas is ALREADY in the playoff picture and they're ready to hand them the Lombardi trophy. Waaaaaaait a minute here... I dunno if I'd go there just yet, muh dudes. If there's one thing Tony Romo is good at, it's being entirely unreliable and disappointing. And even if the Cowboys don't completely suck this year, I still think Philadelphia is gonna win the divison and the only hope Dallas has of getting into the post-season is one of the 2 NFC wild ward slots.

And as fucking nuts as it sounds after looking at how terrible Atlanta is, it's possible that Atlanta could end the season under .500 and still win the NFC South since everyone else in the division is so abysmally awful. Which I fucking hope DOES NOT happen. I hope if anyone wins it outright even with a sub-.500 record, it's Carolina. Because if it were to be Atlanta, I'm afraid the fuckin' bums on this team might interpret that as a good thing and pat on the back. And they've done anything BUT deserve any fucking wins or praise or pats on the back. Fuck 'em. But most of all, fuck owner Arthur Blank and GM Thomas Dimitrov. I hope they fuck each other in the ass and give one another ass ebola.

Holy sheep shit! For the second week in a row... didn't see this coming. Georgia's finally playing some half decent defense and they've run the score up 38 to 6 on Arkansas at home, the same Arkansas who last week lost to Alabama by merely 1 point. It's halftime and the games basically OVER already. I don't see Arkansas (or ANYONE ELSE for that matter) coming back from a 32 point deficit in 2 quarters of play to win it.

Hawgs getting SPI'd. :D

Well, I got a few bets going on that are looking REALLY good. Also, NC might just beat ga tech.

Yeah, the Jackets were playing catch-up all game long ever since the early turnover they had. Pretty much from then I knew how it was gonna end. They'd either have to start playing amazing defense for at least 2 turnovers or 3-and-out's, or more likely play it close and get lucky that they had the ball and could score with less than a minute on the clock so that North Carolina would be the ones to run out of time.

And like always... NOPE!

Thus is life in the Paul Johnson offense. Whenever Georgia Tech gets behind by 14 points or more, it becomes a constant uphill struggle the whole rest of the game to draw it close again. I swear, if Paul Johnson would ever pull his head out of his fucking ASS, he might attempt to recruit someone at QB who can withstand hits in the run option shit as well as pass with zip, accuracy, and distance. It ain't exactly as simple as saying it, I know. Runningbacks tend to be shorter, quarterbacks you tend to want to be taller so they can see over the linemen. But... whatever.

And anybody who missed the Notre Dame @ Florida State game... missed it. It actually ended up being a really good game. And it's weird. Because as damn good as it was, I've never watched a game that good and that close where I really wanted for somehow BOTH teams to lose, hehe. Florida State Seminoles have always been my favorite state of Florida team just because Florida is Georgia's SEC rivals - can't in good conscience root for them, right? But... notsomuch since they've had this Jameis Winston fuckhead as QB. Dude gets accused of rape and the school refuses to bench him, meanwhile Todd Gurley gets outed for selling autographs and Georgia doesn't flinch or hesitate for one second to suspend him. And I've always liked Notre Dame, used to always wear my favorite Notre Dame sweatshirt to school as a wee little bastard. But it still seems fucking retarded that Notre Dame was still one of the 5 or 6 unbeatens coming into this Saturday and sitting in 5th in the top25, when there are MANY FAR BETTER teams than Notre Dame ranked lower than them.

And speaking of Gurley, like I said, he ain't gone for good. I expect he'll be back in action by the time Georgia takes on Auburn on November 15th at the very latest. Would sure be nice to have him back for the game against Kentucky the week before Auburn, but I suspect Georgia's gonna follow the NCAA guidelines and sit him for the full 4 games per the rules about such offenses. Think they state that anything $1000 or more is a 4 game suspension. Same shit happened to AJ Green years back when he sold one of his game-worn bowl jerseys for a grand. Which is why it was hard to believe that Gurley was dumb enough to get himself into this mess in the first place. All the Georgia players damn well know the rules precisely because of that incident... and he fuckin' did it anyway. ::)
