This is the first year that I can think of where we are half way through the season and I have no idea who the top teams are 

I predicted FLA would lose to Tenn, and they would have if they would have stayed with Driskel (3 int's).  They brought in a freshmen who gave the team a spark.  It is way to early to say if he will make enough difference in FLA to make them competitive for the SEC east, I actually doubt he will.  The FLA coach may even go back to Driskel as the starter 

Muschamp's a fuckin' idiot if he does. One or two more L's (virtually GUARANTEED if he starts Driskel again), and stick a fork in his ass, he's done for good. Pretty much... unless Florida can pull off the damn near impossible and win for the rest of the year, Muschamp's out of a job. Soooo..... hope you weren't too fond of him.

And watching this damn Falcons vs Giants game... pffffffffft. If I'm Matt Ryan, I'm handing in my 2 weeks notice when this game is over. This is utter bullshit. 4th and something from their own 35 or 30, they pretty much HAVE to go for it seeing as how the defense is fucking incompetent, and it ends in the worst fucking sack ever for a turnover to help NY extend the lead to 10. God damn O line can't do SHIT right. Ryan's getting the living shit knocked out of him every single play. He doesn't even have time to take the snap and get his feet planted before he's got someone flying up his asshole. And it's not like New York's even "good" at pass rushing. Like I said, if I was Ryan, I'd be pissed off beyond all consolation and ready to quit the NFL. If I was him, I'd tell them "either you get somebody in here who gives a shit about doing their job right, or I'm just gonna take a knee every fucking snap no matter what plays you call until you pull me and stick a backup in, cuz I'm OVER this bullshit, and I'm not risking my physical health on account of someone else YOU HIRED not doing their job."

I feel so sorry for this guy. He's more than capable of doing his job, and he does everything he can to try to win, and the fucking assholes around him just flat out make it impossible.

Yeah, I guess this is gonna be the #2 running joke in the NFL this year.

#1 being watching the Jets lose so everyone can enjoy the crazy shit that Rex Ryan has to say in the post-game conference about how bad the Jets played. And I'm sorry to any Jets fans here if there are any, but I personally find this one to be delightfully amusing. Rex Ryan is just a funny guy like that.

And #2 being watching the Falcons play (badly) and betting on when Matt Ryan will finally get the shit beat out of him so bad that he goes down with a horribly disfiguring injury.

Detroit's kicker misses 3 field goals on Sunday and he is unemployed on Monday.

He was only 4 for 12 so far this year.  I am surprised he made it this long.  I bet Detroit wishes they had let him go a week earlier because if the kicker makes 2 of 3 yesterday Detroit wins.  The field goals he missed were 44, 47, 50 (not chip shots) but when you are a professional you have to make those.  I'm sure it did not help that the other teams kicker made a 58 yarder to beat them.

Yeah. Kickers don't typically make a million dollars a year like other players. Some DO make at least a million a year. Some actually make a little more. I think Matt Bryant in Atlanta is making about 2.5M a year, but he's kinda worth it, because in all the years I've ever seen him play for Atlanta, he's probably only missed ONCE, and his kicks have literally won games on several occasions. He's the guy you definitely wanna have when it absolutely HAS to count. But even the lowest paid ones still make a DAMN GOOD salary, especially considering all they have to do is kick a fucking football properly. There isn't a whole lot of practice and drills that goes into it in the off-season, there isn't much he has to know about plays, he doesn't have to workout a bunch and bulk up and be particularly tough. Just... kick a ball. But apparently this dude was getting paid almost $650,000 a year to be the kicker. For that salary, he should be making the damn field goals. Because there's plenty of kickers out there who CAN and are looking for a job. Some are little better than others, like Adam Vinatieri in Indy, Janikowski in Oakland, Blair Walsh in Minnesota, but ALL field goal kickers should be able to hit the shit this dudes been missing even with 10mph winds up in their face. No excuse for that shit.

I just re-read my post.  I did not mean LSU was a div 3 school.
I meant that Driskel could not beat a div 3 school, so playing a team like LSU would definitely be a loss with Driskel at QB.
If LSU played like they did last week and FLA had a better QB, i would give FLA a chance, but we now have Driskel so "no chance"

Uh huh. What'd I say? TCU was #25 last week, now they've shot all the way up to #9. Dunno if I really agree with that. Especially seeing as how they've soared way up past East Carolina who was #22 last week and is only #19 this week. If you ask me, East Carolina deserves much better than a #19 seeing as how an unheard of ELEVEN of the top25 lost last week. Meanwhile Georgia is still stuck with unlucky #13 despite 5 teams in the top 10 losing... figures, but not a crime. Their defense is so awful that they don't really deserve to advance any higher and are probably lucky to be that high. And Georgia Tech snuck in to snag #22, which I guess I agree with. Before last week, they were undefeated, but it was still looking like more of a fluke. After beating Miami for the first time in a good while, I think they've started to prove that their defense play is not entirely just "lucky". And their offense, despite being a 3-back/run option offense, is actually getting the job done pretty well against folks. But being undefeated after 5 games doesn't mean a helluva lot considering WHO they've beaten, so honestly #22 is pretty damn generous, and any higher would've been TOO generous since they haven't faced a top25 team and likely WON'T until their 12th game when they face Georgia... if Georgia is still ranked by then... cuz shit happens.

And I wouldn't entirely count Florida out against LSU. Weird shit happens. Driskel "seems" to be predictably bad, but you never know. The way shit's gone this year, he could end up surprising the hell out of you. That's why I'm absolutely LOVING this year so far even though my own team is pretty doomed. Been one of the most surprising and best years in college football in recent memory.

And Todd Gurley is the running for the Heisman this year (obviously). And it's not just hometeam favoritism making me say this, but I think he damn well deserves it. He's honestly the #1 best overall player in college football right now. Show me one other runningback in the whole NCAA who can break tackles like this kid. You can't. But it just so happens that he's stuck with a team with NO defense and a quarterback that isn't up to par. A Heisman candidate being stuck on a team that can't at least go 11-1 is all but guaranteed NOT to get it.

The thing that pisses me off the most is I already spent a good deal of time the other day finally making a UGA football schedule wallpaper. I usually make one just like this every year. Guess I won't be using this one anymore.



So I'm gonna venture a guess and say that this completely DEMOLISHES any chance Georgia has of taking the SEC East this year. So hopefully either Sarge's Gators or Missouri can get the job done, just as long as South Carolina doesn't get it.

It's all anybody in Athens was talking about last night. Awful lot of people around Athens severely disappointed in this young man.
