What in the fuck makes people think that Michael Vick should be anything other than a backup QB? He's got plenty of track record to establish the fact that he just isn't that great. In fact, lately he's shown that he's even WORSE than he used to be. I'm just completely bewildered as to why a guy like Adrian Peterson, who's paid the shit out of his dues and struggled and suffered and bled only to see any of his hopes of a successful postseason go up in smoke, would get the completely bonkers idea that Michael Vick is the missing piece of the puzzle that'll take them all the way. What the fuck is this guy smoking?

Not in my opinion. At least Christian Ponder doesn't need to play with kevlar body armor. He can take a hit. And while he may not be one of the more elite quarterbacks in the NFL today,... neither is Vick. Far from it. Yet people seem to have the stubborn unshakable idea that he's "good". So he can run fast, big deal. What does it matter how fast he can run when he never does?

My opinion, and I happen to think it's a pretty good one, is that Minnesota should DRAFT a quarterback if they're looking for one. Josh Freeman, Michael Vick, even someone like Colt McCoy (as much as I like the guy), they're all more than likely a lost cause. They've been given opportunities to prove themselves and didn't produce results. There's plenty of QB's that teams have played hot-potato with in the past decade, trading them off or trading to GET them. Teams keep thinking they're getting a diamond in the rough and maybe a different cast of characters will improve their success... and it never fucking happens. It's more of the same every single place they go. There's plenty of good QB's coming out of college this year. Their chances at success are a relatively unknown factor. To compare it to horse racing, it's a better gamble picking the horse you've never seen before than picking the horse you've seen do nothing but lose.

I agree, some QB's like the ones you mentioned are about as good as they are going to get.
They are mid tier as best and that is being nice.

Dallas passing on Ware? Jesus, Jerry Jones and his interim ginger better have a good plan in the works with that move. Personally, I don't think last season was enough of a reason to justify letting him go. Maybe they have reason to suspect his injuries will prevent him from playing at the same level as before. I don't think so,... but it wouldn't be the first time the Dallas Cowboys have done really stupid shit in more recent times.

I think Ware still has a couple good years left, but maybe not at his top level, it all depends who he has on the other end of the D-line.

As a Saints fan, it is scary to think of having to play Hester twice - on returns only (

) ; also...I read somewhere they are thinking of moving the kickoff up to the 40 now..would eliminate Hester a tad bit

Unless he will return punts also, you could put a lineman back there.

Kickoff returners have the best job next to the backup QB.

Out of all the KR's I see in the NFL, seems like Hester takes it out and runs it more often than he takes the free 20. Still. Don't matter. He'll break his leg in preseason. Probably not from playing football either. It'll be something totally and completely bullshit, like a piece of an airplane falling to earth and hitting him in the leg, just because Atlanta is that lucky.

And if not, so fucking what. We brought Steven Jackson on, a swell power runningback (yet ANOTHER aging star probably past his prime), and look what happened there. Jack shit. Might as well have kept Michael Turner.

All in all, not to excited about the prospects for any of the football teams in the state of Georgia. The Falcons are probably gonna suck. But there's always the chance they will surprise the shit outta me and do well. And even IF they do, they'll only do well enough to get everyones hopes up and then fail before going all the way. University of Georgia is probably gonna suck with this new QB Hutson Mason taking over this coming season. He didn't really wow me the few times I saw him last year. So if UGA manages to break .500, I'll be completely shocked. And Georgia Tech? They still got Paul Johnson coaching. OF COURSE they're gonna suck.
