It's on like Donkey Kong, motherbitches.
Was watching the first half of the Hall of Fame exhibition game with the Dolphins and Cowboys. Looks like Miami has made some good acquisitions this year with free agents and drafts, but they're still getting their wet dreams shat all over like always. It's preseason (technically pre-preseason or something), so who gives a fuck though. Can't really accurately judge a team by preseason performance anymore. Some shine, and some play possum on purpose so they can roll out the big guns when it counts and catch their opponents off guard.
I guess Miami let Reggie Bush go. Apparently he's at Detroit now. The price of gas may rise and fall, but the one thing you can always count on is the Detroit Lions management to make stupid choices.
"You suck? Kim Kardashian done fucked all the talent outta ya? SURE, WE'LL FUCKIN' HIRE YER ASS! YEAH, C'MON!"

Reggie obviously has some talent. But his style of making some yards and tip-toeing out of bounds drove me crazy! He should be treated like the guy in A Clockwork Orange; strapped to a chair with his eyelids bound open and made to watch every play Walter Payton made in his career. Now there was a MAN. When he got close to the sidelines, he almost always turned it back up field and put a lick on whoever was planning to tackle him.

Maybe he had a better reason than anyone else to play that way. After all, when he was playing in New Orleans, they were giving big bonuses to defensive players for making violent hits.
I gotta wonder if New Orleans was the only team doing that. Seemed like before they cracked down so hard on hits on defenseless players that FS Dunta Robinson of the Falcons was looking to literally murder anyone with the ball.

When it was starters versus starters, the Bucs looked like crap against the NE.
I don't think Freeman is ever going to be a top 10 QB, his stats have dropped each year for the last 2-3.

Step one if I'm in charge of the Saints: Get rid of Roman friggin Harper and get a real safety.

Could've had Tyran Mathieu. Saw him playing with the Cardinals. Looks like he's gonna do fine in the NFL. Too bad he got stuck with the Cardinals though.

Agreed on Harper, hate that guy..hopefully Vaccaro steps up huge...as far as the Cards go..they have Patrick Peterson and now the honey badger (as an LSYou fan this makes me giddy as Fuck.) Their secondary should be exciting to watch. Definitely going to try and watch their games as much as possible.

The Cards made a good move picking up Mathieu, but I'm afraid they've made a mistake picking up a few throw-aways. John Abraham obviously wasn't worth keeping around in Atlanta anymore. Now maybe that was more of a decision based on the money end of things since his seniority on the team would've dictated that his price tag should've gone up, but his performance hasn't been what it used to be either. Most of all, I'm pretty bewildered that they picked up Carson Palmer. Not really a smart move. He's a decent QB I suppose, but he's already been let go from the starting QB position in 2 cities in the past 2 years so it's fairly obvious that "decent" ain't good enough. He'd made a good dependable backup, but I don't think he's ever gonna be the guy to lead anyone to a championship. Now if the plan is just to have him long enough to find someone who IS the guy to lead them to a championship, I suppose that's a good approach. But they better hurry the fuck up and find someone because Larry Fitzgerald ain't getting any younger. By the time they find a stellar QB, they're likely to be needing to look for some capable receivers. The best QB in the NFL ain't jack shit if the assholes he's throwing to can't catch a cold much less a football.

I think Larry Fitzgerald will never get the stats or credit for being the player he could have been with a good QB to get him the ball.
I think Fitzgerald could have been a top 3 receiver every year and put up amazing stats (probably a HOF'er), but he will probably just fade away and not be remembered after a few years.

I think he gets plenty of credit. As far as I'm concerned, he's their #1 star player. I'm sure they sell more of his jerseys than anyone else. But yeah, dunno if he'll make the hall of fame. He might. I know he holds all the club career records for receiving and touchdowns. At the very least, I'm sure the Cardinals will hang his number in the stadium once he retires. He just hasn't had someone worth a crap passing the ball since Kurt Warner retired. Carson Palmer's not a pussy about passing though, he should get more thrown his way this year.
Eh... dunno about "could have been top 3 receiver every year". He's had some pretty damn tough competition the past several years. Calvin Johnson. Roddy White. Andre Johnson. Wes Welker. Demaryius Thomas. Even if he had Kurt Warner QBing again, he'd have to work his ass off. Calvin Johnson... fuck. That's all the Lions do is pass it to him damn near every play. Jesus Christ. How come Matt Stafford never played like that when he was at Georgia? He was decent in college, but now he's just a surgical bomber. The whole NFL's in trouble if Detroit can ever put together a run game.
