The computers love FSU, ranking them #1.  The human polls have FSU #3 behind Oregon.
If both teams win out Oregon might get the edge.
FSU doesn't have anyone left on their schedule with a winning record.
Wake Forrest 4-5
Syracuse 4-4
Idaho 1-8 
Florida 4-4 
FSU would have the ACC title game to give them a boost.

Oregon has #5 Stanford this weekend
Utah 4-4
Arizona 6-2
Oregon St. 6-3
PAC 12 title game

I think if both teams win out FSU will possibly drop in the computer ratings because the backend of their schedule is weaker than Oregon's.  Style points may make the difference, it's going to be close.

You got a point. Didn't consider FSU's remaining sched vs Oregon's remaining sched. I forget exactly who's where in the ACC because I ain't paid no attention to ACC in the last several years since Georgia Tech ain't been WORTH paying attention to (and still aren't), but I think Miami is leading one division of the conference while FSU is leading the other, and Miami's only competition for the top of their division is Georgia Tech, who really doesn't have a hope in hell of overtaking Miami since they lost to them, so the ACC Championship is almost guaranteed to be a Miami-FSU rematch.

So, yeah, it makes "sense" that Oregon would earn it, but... remember that this is BCS here. Shit doesn't always exactly make "sense". I still have a suspicion that FSU will get the spot before Oregon will. And according to the BCS standings as of now, FSU is #2. Soooo... don't be surprised when Oregon gets sent to another Rose Bowl as a condescending BCS consolation prize. Oregon's gotta be sick to death of the fucking Rose Bowl by now.

Yea, maybe I was a bit pessimistic after watching that debacle yesterday. Looking at the remaining games:

Nov 10 - vs. Dallas, 8:30 PM ET
Nov 17 - vs. San Francisco, 4:25 PM ET
Nov 21 - at Atlanta, 8:25 PM ET
Dec 2 - at Seattle, 8:40 PM ET
Dec 8 - vs. Carolina, 1:00 PM ET
Dec 15 - at St. Louis, 1:00 PM ET
Dec 22 - at Carolina, 1:00 PM ET
Dec 29 - vs. Tampa Bay, 1:00 PM ET

OK, I see Dallas as a toss up game (beating them 200-0 would still leave me wanting more points).
San Fran....loss even at the Dome.
At Seattle = massacre, Seahawks way.
Atlanta owes us one...loss.
Split with Carolina - they are getting hot.
St.Louis beats us despite the odds.....arrggg.
We squeak a win out over Tampa - sorry Sgt. Dick, that's a sinking ship.

So the Saints go 3-5 the rest of the way because they win 1 more than I expect = 9-7.  IF that's good enough to make the playoffs, they get crushed in the first round.


If Alabama just HAS to be in the title game again this year, I'd like to see FSU against them.  I think it would be a good game AND I would be pulling for FSU!

This is how I feel too. Oregon has multiple talented backs with insane stop-and-go speed, but I think Florida State is the more physical team. Both are really well-rounded, so I'm not going to pretend like there's an easy answer to the question "which team is more likely to beat Alabama?"... but I think it might be FSU, plus I'd rather see them get a shot anyway. It just sucks that it should have been Oregon in the title game LAST year, without a doubt.
