Neither side had defense. Wasn't about who could stop the other team, it was about who could score the most.

Quarterbacks performed about dead even. Pretty much what I expected. Murray got picked once. But I saw a couple plays where Mettenburger could've easily been picked too, especially late in the game when he bounced it right off DL John Jenkins hands. I was kinda sweating after Murray got picked too. I figured it was gonna be one of those every possession ends in a score kinda games, and it pretty much was. Knowing that LSU was gonna get the ball to start the 2nd half meant that Georgia was gonna be playing catch-up all game long, but luckily they managed to get one stop and even the odds back up. In my opinion, even though the run stats clearly favored Georgia, the run game wasn't much of a deciding factor. It wasn't even the quarterbacks. Receiver play-making decided it. LSU dropped one or two at different points that might've changed the outcome. Great game though.

Shit ain't gonna get no easier for LSU though. Pretty sure you guys play Alabama and Texas A&M soon. Kinda hoping Alabama beats you though. Serves Georgia the best if Alabama stays #1 up until the SEC Championship when hopefully Georgia will represent the East and beat them for a good rankings boost. Georgia won't be facing anyone else ranked higher than them for the rest of the schedule, so the only way they're gonna move up after probably snagging 7th (6th if they're really lucky) when the next polls come out is if someone ranked higher gets clowned out. And looking at WHO it is and WHO they play... that probably ain't gonna happen. At this point, it looks like the top 5 are gonna sit right the fuck where they are for the rest of the regular season unless LSU can beat Alabama. That's really the only challenge that any of the top 5 teams are gonna have. Pretty fucking pathetic. Gonna be a boring season.

Obviously you're kidding, but as I mentioned in my last post, even if you WEREN'T kidding, the top 5 spots are more than likely gonna stay planted right where they are for the rest of the regular season. So even if Florida beat every opponent for the rest of the year by 60 points, they probably wouldn't have a prayer at wiggling into the top 5. Only chance of change from #1 though #5 is if LSU can beat Alabama. And I'm a little surprised, but Georgia actually jumped over Louisville to take the #6 spot in the polls now. Sucks for Louisville. They can do everything right and the polls still fuck them. Their QB does have an excellent chance of snagging a Heisman this year though.

FLA will finish no better than 3rd in the SEC East.  I predict FLA will finish 7-5 overall and 5-3 in the SEC
I think GA will run the table in the east with SC coming in 2nd.

Injuries are the key, if teams start losing key players everything could change.
I don't think FLA would have won the SEC East this year anyway, but they have had bad luck with injuries.

I love the dumbfounded look Geno Smith of the Jets always has on his face.  I don't know if he is really confused or that just the way he naturally looks.  After today's 4 turnovers, I'd guess that he is confused.  I think he is learning, this is a little harder than college

Yeah, as a QB in college, you've got maybe 2 or 3 elite defense players to worry about and the rest are just considered average. In the NFL, they really only draft the baddest of the bad, so you've got an ENTIRE TEAM of elite level players to beat. And then there's the days when you face a team like Houston and get some guy like JJ Watt trying to strangle you to death and you say to yourself, "Holy fuck, you mean to tell me there's a level ABOVE elite!?!"

Falcons lose again! Sitting there watching the game having a beer, the scores 20 to 13, I get up to go take a leak and step out the back for a smoke, come back and its 30 to 13.

Then they get every break imaginable. They go for an onside kick and I'm thinking, well this shits over. Because you look at the percentage of recovered onside kicks in the history of the NFL and you might as well not even attempt it. But they do... and holy fuck they recover it. They drive down, they STALL like always, kick for 3. They push their luck and try another onside kick, and don't get it. Then by divine intervention, Brady fumbles on a 4th down QB sneak and they get the ball back. They stick an injured Julio Jones back in the game who's been double covered and shut down for pretty much the whole game, and Ryan tosses a 50 or 60 yd hope and a prayer to him, and holy fuck he catches it. And for probably for the 300th time since Ryan was drafted by Atlanta, it comes down to the final 40 seconds of the game. And of course, it doesn't happen. The hand of God comes down out of the sky and hands them a chance for a win against Tom Brady on a silver platter, and do they take it from God? Do they say "Thanks."? Hell no, they slap the motherfucker out of his hand and onto the floor.

Same shit, different day.

They get the Jets next I think. Watch em fuckin' lose that one too.

Yea, it's early in the season, but the rest of the NFC South are giving the Saint's a big boost towards winning the division.  N.O. offensive line is slightly less than terrible - can't run block; can't protect Brees well enough. It's the same old thing, if you can't run and your QB is under pressure it will come back to haunt you. Even with all the weapons the Saint's have on offense, that weakness worries me the most.

The defense hasn't really been a clamp down, suffocating unit, but at the end of the game I say "they only scored 17????"  Next week against the Bears will be a defining moment for the season.  Instead of the bears and their boorish fans pushing us around, I want to see Cutler get a few "snot bubble" hits and see if his knee suddenly starts hurting......

Atlanta's waving bye-bye to you back here in the fucking dust. Like I said in preseason, if Atlanta had to rely on backups, they'd be proverbially fucked. This years been fucking cursed. EVERYONE who really matters is hurt. I'd list the names of people hurt, but hell, it'd be quicker to name everyone on the roster who ISN'T hurt.
