Both series of the NLDS has been pretty good. Both the Dodgers vs Nationals and Braves vs Cardinals series have been pushed all the way to game 5. The Braves could've sealed it last night but for some fucking reason, they decided to change pitchers when the guy they had in there was doing EXCELLENT.

As for the ALDS, the Yankees pretty much had their way with the Twins, and Houston only needs to win one more to get past Tampa. Doesn't matter though, neither one of them stand a chance against New York. And IF the Braves win again, I'm hoping the Nats beat the Dodgers, because the Braves will be able to handle the Nats easily. But if the Braves lose, the Dodgers had BETTER win, because besides the Braves, they're the only other NL team that will have a remote hope in hell of hanging with the Yankees.

Gonna try to get tickets to game 5 of Braves vs Cardinals tomorrow night when they're back in Marietta. Probably gonna expensive as fuck, but my dad reeeeeeeeally wants to go. I'd prefer to stay home and watch it on TV. The Marta train (the Atlanta subway system) doesn't go all the way up to the new Braves stadium. Used to, I could park at a Marta station way up on the north end of the line and ride into Atlanta and get off the train right there at the Stadium. Now I'll have to park AT the stadium somewhere. And probably walk 5 miles from the truck to the stadium... and he's a fucking old man with a bad foot. This oughta be fun.

Didn't really see this coming... and it's a nice surprise, actually. Looks like the Nats are gonna sweep the Cardinals in 4 straight games. I imagine Cardinals fans were pissing their pants with glee when they scored 10 runs in one inning against a shitty-ass suck-ass recently-reinstated-up-from-the-minors Atlanta pitcher. Which makes the fact that they couldn't get ONE game against the fucking Nationals even more hilarious.

Been a while. Finally they got a crew of players that could hit big in October. As far as hitting goes, I don't remember any of the 90's teams being this good. They weren't this good in the regular season either. Manager Brian Snitker and crew finally came up with a magic combo at just the right time with their lineup. Soler bashed that thing into the damn parking lot outside the stadium! And Freeman was finally able to connect on a homer again for the first time in a while.

This was just their magic ON season, you could feel it once the NLCS came vs the LA Dodgers and they started pulling out these amazing comebacks late in games.

Now if Georgia can get the National Championship this year, that'll be terrific. Won't be PERFECT. I'd still like to live long enough to see the Falcons win JUST ONE superbowl. No chance of that this year at all... or next year probably... or the next.

No thanks to the wonderful "algorithms" that foists this kind of shit on everyone front and center in the lefty-dominated news feeds and lefty search engines, you get the impression that the majority of people actually give a shit about the "tomahawk chop" and think it's a horrible racist expression. I keep seeing these tweets from assholes talking shit about the tomahawk chop and braves fan in general as if we're all just a bunch of racist rednecks. They have that attitude about anything coming out of the south these days.

Fuck you people. You aren't the majority. You aren't important. You're small minded bigoted idiots. Just because it's fashionable these days doesn't make it any less wrong. Stereotypes are usually fuckin' bigotry. If "everyone from the middle east is a terrorist" is wrong, it's the same principle at play when you say, "braves fans (ie southerners) are just racists."

As an Atlanta native all my life, no, I don't hate indians. Some of the blood in my family tree is indian. Personally I like the name "Braves" for a sports team. Braves were courageous determined warriors who either fought and won, or went down fighting with everything they had. Braves are way cooler than stupid little Falcons as a mascot and team name. That's maybe why the Falcons suck... I dunno.

Does it upset you that they use it as their team persona? Because the for most of the local tribes, they're totally cool with it, and they're big Braves fans. So if you have a problem with it, know that it's only because you're a whiney little virtue signaling crybaby bitch, and obviously you need SOMETHING in your life to help you feel good about yourself. If chronic activism is your answer, know that you're an annoying obnoxious overbearing over-opinionated asshole and no one wants to hang out with you. You suck.

I have one of my own. How about the Black Lives Matter fist pump? We can change our name to the Atlanta Anti-Racists, we can stop playing the National Anthem, fire all the white coaches, serve nothing but sushi and 40 dollar vegan entrees instead of hotdogs and hamburgers, stop serving beer and only serve hard seltzer.... that'll get asses in the seats huh?

Eh, I can at least meet these people halfway with the "Redskins" one. I don't know what ever possessed anyone to call them the "Redskins" to begin with. To my knowledge, "Redskins" was never any kind of name anyone used for Native Americans in a reasonably positive context. It's more of a white man's slang term for them, prominently using skin color as the main identifier for a people... yeah, when the actual definition of racism is "judging based on skin color" (despite whatever OTHER definition woke turds wanna inaccurately give it these days), then yeah, it fits the description and probably needs to go. And I can also SORT OF begin to agree with someone that a name like "Cleveland Indians" MIGHT be in need of a change. We all know the reason they were called Indians is because the first europeans to come here on large expeditions were dumb enough to think they somehow landed on the far side of India. Problem is, you can't really make the case that it's any kind of derogatory term for them, so in my opinion, it should be left up to the people who live there, and the rest of the asshole activists from other states should shut the fuck up and respect their right to choose for themselves what to do about such a thing.

Other teams have perfectly acceptable names in my opinion. Florida State Seminoles, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Blackhawks, Utah Utes, Illinois Illini, KC Cheifs, Golden State Warriors. It's no different from having names like New England Patriots, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys, or Nebraska Cornhuskers... and from what I've read, Cornhuskers was originally intended to be derogatory term for the poor corn-growing plainsfolk living in Nebraska.

I am expecting the woke crowd to come for the FL St. Seminoles next, since they use that racist chop as well.

Hopefully, the Atlanta Braves won't cave in to this, because every win the woke crowd gets they feel that much more powerful.

I think the Braves already DID kinda cave though. They did away with licensing any retro merchandise with the old "Homer the Brave" graphic from the 80's. I still have a 3 ring binder with a bunch of plastic sheets for baseball cards stuffed in a closet or a drawer somewhere. It's odd, I type Homer the Brave into google image search, and get almost NO results with the image. The algorithm is sanitizing the results I guess.



They also stopped playing the war drums music for the Tomahawk Chop that always sparked the crowd into starting the chop. I think people just started doing it on their own... or maybe there was some animation without sound that they used on the boards hanging off the middle decks that prompted people to start it.

I think they might've also stopped selling the foam tomahawks as well. You didn't see many (if ANY) people in the stands with them during the World Series.

And Georgia DID win a title last year. Could do it again this year... they're 5-0 so far, but they looked vulnerable last game vs Missouri of all people, which is why they dropped from #1 to #2.

Atlanta kinda looking the same way. They're in the post-season again, with a wild card bye, but I dunno if they have the same mojo they had last year to repeat for 2nd consecutive World Series. Would be pretty cool for Atlanta to join the short list of teams that have ever had back to back World Series. They've certainly been top contenders long enough to deserve a spot there. Only Yankees (77-78, 98-99-2000), Blue Jays (92-93), Reds (75-76), and A's (72-73-74) in the last 50 years.

Realistically, if I were doing this for MONEY, I'd have the AL side stay as I put it, but on the NL side, San Diego beating the Mets (I just simply want to see Atlanta playing the Mets in the NLCS, just a personal preference, I have friends from NYC area that are Mets fans), then Dodgers beating San Diego,... and Atlanta might beat Philly, but then will probably lose to the Dodgers, and the Yankees would beat the Dodgers. Out of everyone, the Yankees seem to be hitting the best and putting up plenty of runs consistently, and I don't see that changing. They seem to be carrying the most "mojo" into October.




PS. I had to google what the hell the "C" team was in the AL.


Ah yes, I almost forgot. The "Cleveland Guardians", no longer the Cleveland Indians... even though they still show the Major League movies all over the TV and nobody is petitioning them to stop like crybabies.
