The two teams I really wanted to see lose eliminated the two teams I wanted to see move on.

Yankees beat Baltimore 3-1 & St. Louis beat Washington 9-7.
It would have been nice to see some new teams playing for their league titles, but instead it is more of the same

Whoa horsie. Don't get too excited yet. You see, this is what they do. They start off in April kicking ass, usually getting 2/3rds or better of the months games in the win column. Then after the first week in May, they can't string together enough hits in any one inning to save their life. They'll do shit like hit one 1 or 2 run homer just so they won't leave scoreless, but if they ever manage to get a base hit, you can pretty much bank on the inning ending with that guy stranded on 2nd. From what little I've watched, it seems like they've refurbished half the starting pitcher roster except for old man Tim Hudson (who's only 5 years older than me... HOLY SHIT), Kris Medlan, and Mike Minor from last year. Saw their new guy Paul Maholm pitching the other night, he ain't too bad. That's kinda been part of the reason they've struggled is pitching. When their pitchers are hot, they're hot. When the pitching stinks, ALL OF THEM SUCK AT ONCE and they end up losing position against the teams they need to beat during key series to stay on top of the division.

I have to ask because the only crap I see on my TV is the sorry Marlins. I have almost become a AL fan since I like the Rays better than the Marlins.

Stick with watching the Rays, you'll at least have a 50/50 chance of seeing them win a game. Marlins just need to stick a fork in it if you ask me. They spent all that money on a new park and sold quite a few tickets in the beginning only because of the newness factor and people being curious, but then they went back to losing horribly and attendance dropped even further. They better do something drastic in the next year or two or they won't have the OPTION of being an MLB baseball club anymore. Even the Cubs have never been in that bad of a shape. When the Cubs were historically awful, they were still filling enough seats to keep the checkbook out of the red.

Haven't watched a game since god knows when, but according to the tubes on the interweb, the Bravos are currently 1st in the NL east, a game or two up on the Nats. 4 and a half months until October though.

The Braves started off with the best record in baseball (12-1) but since then they are 12-17 and that is with them winning the last 2 games. They are still leading the NL East but they have the worst record of the division leaders.

What kind of press is Jason Heyward getting

He was hyped up bigtime when he came up to the bigs with Atlanta in 2010.
So far, I have not seen to much to be excited about.
His best year was 2010 when he batted .277.
Since then it has got worse, .227 in 2011, .269 in 2012, and .139 so far this year.
IMO he has not come close to the hype. I was wondering what people around Atlanta are thinking.
