I like the reaction of the 3rd baseman when he grabs the ball to throw it.

I don't even have the
option
of watching Braves baseball anymore. Apparently Dish Network has worked it to where you gotta pay extra in order to do so. Kinda pisses me off. Because a couple years back, they were claiming that PeachtreeTV was trying to gouge Dish by locking them into a several years long contract agreement to pay them a pre-determined amount in order to have access to broadcasting rights whether they were still covering the games or not. And because Dish refused to pay up, for a while there, PeachtreeTV Braves games were blacked out on DishNetwork until PeachtreeTV was forced to cave in and accept the inferior offer. And because they did, now PeachtreeTV doesn't even have the money to secure the rights to broadcast the games anymore and SportsSouth does them all. And apparently SportsSouth is now in the same situation with Dish... because EVERY LAST Braves game is ALWAYS blacked out. I don't get to see even ONE.
Doesn't really break my heart though. I kinda said after the Braves had made plans to move outta the city of Atlanta that I wasn't gonna watch MLB anymore. But still, every now and then, I wouldn't mind seeing a Braves game on TV. So I guess either SportsSouth or Dish has made it even easier for me to uphold that statement, whether I like it or not.

Still a screwed up deal, even if you don't care to watch them.

Ugh. It's just a HUGE fucking mistake in so many ways. Where they're wanting to put it (or should I say, ARE FUCKING
GOING
TO PUT IT whether people like it or not) is already a complete hellhole congested traffic nightmare, and putting a pro-baseball stadium there is only gonna make it 10x worse. And the plans for the former Fulton Co stadium and current Turner Field lots is a fucking mistake too. From what I read there, they're saying that GSU wants the property for a college baseball field and football field... which might be a good idea, since at least it'll more likely be a permanent fixture that won't up and move in the next 20 years like the fucking Braves. But that part of Atlanta is pretty bad neighborhood. If I had a kid, there's no way I'd let him/her stay in a dorm located in that part of town. Georgia Tech is right up the street from it, and even that campuses dorms aren't safe from gunpoint muggings and stabbings all the time even with plenty of GT campus security on duty.

I know none of this really matters during the best time of the year (college football season) but-
http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/11892064/atlanta-braves-trade-jason-heyward-jordan-walden-st-louis-cardinals-shelby-miller-tyrell-jenkins
Heyward is a good player, but I never saw him as the elite player he was made out to be (or potentially to be).

Well Heyward gets a hit every now and then, which is more than I can say for most of the team. A truly dumb move by the general manager, but it doesn't surprise me all that much. Probably the 3rd worst move they could've made. The 2nd worst thing they could've done might've been to trade away their smoke-throwing ace closing pitcher Craig Kimbrel. And the absolutely stupidest thing they
could've
done was trade away their 1st baseman power slugger Freddie Freeman. So they've always got other idiotic moves they can make if they ever decide that one wasn't stupid enough.

It looks like the Braves cleaned house over the off-season, trading away three of its top hitters Justin Upton, Jason Heyward and Evan Gattis and getting mostly prospects in return.
"The 25-man roster that breaks camp in early April will probably include less than 10 players who were with the Braves at the start of the 2014 season."

I'm convinced that the Braves are still effectively under the John Rocker curse. Ever since that dumb obnoxious motherfucker showed up in Atlanta, they've been held at fingertips length from success as if by some strange otherworldly power. I admit, I got a kick out of John Rocker and his dumb comments in the media. But it was more like entertainment by way of "Wow, look at how fucking stupid that guy is, I can't believe he said that." and less entertainment by way of, "He's smart and intelligent and witty and talented."
Dunno if I've said it before, but I gotta think that whole Kenny Powers character from Eastbound And Down was probably based largely on Mister John Rocker.

I don't follow Atlanta that much anymore, but I have to think that this team will struggle this year.
http://atlantabraves.blog.ajc.com/2015/04/06/timing-of-kimbrel-trade-made-it-even-worse/
The BJ Upton Deal continues to screw Atlanta, since it seems like that is what was behind the trading of Kimbrel.
