Almost 1/2 of the way and the Braves are leading their division and have the best record in the NL
I still think they will fade.

I've caught bits and pieces of games. The only player they have I still recognize is 1st baseman Freddy Freeman. I'm surprised they didn't do something stupid and trade him away during the clusterfuck coach Gonzalez period. You might remember their old closing pitcher Craig Kimbrel. That kid had a fucking CANNON for an arm, throwing consistent 100+mph fastballs. He broke all kinds of club records, even racked up more saves than John Smoltz in a shorter time. But for no apparent fucking reason, even after inking a new contract with him, they traded him to San Diego. Currently he's with Boston, and will probably be a factor in them winning the World Series this year.
Atlanta actually played Boston a month or so ago. The two #1 teams, was kinda weird, even weirder that I actually watched it. Atlanta didn't have SHIT for Boston. So yeah, I agree, they might keep a spot that gets them into the playoffs, but they'll choke early and be out of it.

So I watched a bit of the Baltimore Orioles at Atlanta Braves game today.
4 runs in the top of the 1st for Baltimore before getting even ONE OUT.
5th inning comes around. Bases loaded AGAIN. 2 outs though. Dude hits what should be a double or triple. 3 dudes already on base make it home, but the batter running to 2nd should easily be tagged out. Oh hell no. The dumbass cocksucker 2nd base umpire gets in the way of the Atlanta 2nd baseman.
I was trying to find video or a story of it on the web but I can't find anything yet. I'm not sure if it would've effected anything. Those other 3 runs still would've got in before the 3rd out I think.

As the All-Star break approaches, the Braves are dropping in the standings.
I think the Braves are a much improved team, but definitely not a title contender.

The Braves won their division, which I did not think would happen.
Atlanta is now in the playoffs and lost their first game to LA.
I will be shocked if they make it past LA.

I'm not shocked they made it to October play. Every Atlanta team actually WORKS for their paychecks when there's a new stadium the bosses have to pay for. Atlanta actually had a hockey team once who only did well in their very first season, sucked balls after that. Fucking brilliant idea that was, huh? Cuz Georgia's got a long history of loving hockey. Lord knows how them slaves used to pick the cotton in the summer and play hockey in the winter... on all that ice... that we get maybe once every 12 winters.

Braves are done. They showed a lot of improvement this year and they have some good young players to help Freddie now, but I think that they are still 3 or 4 top players away from winning a crown.

I tuned in for a few minutes the other night when the Braves had the bases loaded and Acuna was at the plate. The pitcher threw 3 consecutive balls and each time the crowd went nuts. On the 4th pitch, it was clearly high and out of the zone, so he started to toss his bat away and take 1st base, but the asshole umpire was busy watching HIM and not the ball, so he called it a strike. I was saying to myself, "They better just walk him and take being down 1 more run." But the dumbass pitched him a straight fastball right down the middle and kinda high. He dug it out for a grand slam. I was happy and thought I might watch the rest of the game. But then I came to my senses and said, "An Atlanta team, win a championship? Nah. Not in this life."
Don't worry, they'll butcher the roster before next spring.

Braves are doing surprisingly
exceptionally
well this year. I can't remember a time EVER when they were hitting so well. I saw a graphic they threw up the other night where they showed that 6 different Braves had 15
or more
homers. I don't recall that happening even back in the 90's when the Braves were THE team to beat, AND people were using steroids. The last 3 days they've had a series against the Marlins, and for some reason, they can look terrific against the Mets and the Phillies, but they kinda lose steam and get jinxed when the Marlins come to town. Just barely won the first one with a 9th inning rally, lost the second one, and barely skated out of the third game with a 1 run lead after loading up the bases.
Their pitching isn't great, but if they can keep the offense this hot come September, they might actually stand a chance against the Dodgers or the Yankees or whoever else makes it to October play.
