Gran Torino - 9.5/10 - Excellent movie. I would've given it a 10, but some of the supporting actors were pretty bad at times, especially whoever played Tao. But the overall story and Clint Eastwood made up for that minor detail. You really can't go wrong with a Clint Eastwood movie. I don't think I've seen one single film with him in it that wasn't great. And I haven't seen Bridges of Madison County yet, so that's still true. If anyone else has seen Bridges of Madison County, how about letting me know if it's safe to watch it, I don't wanna ruin my own opinion of him if it turns out to be a piece of shit.

^agree.  Except I'd actually bump it up to a 10 because I laughed almost all the way through the movie with the attitude he had.

The Exorcist - 10/10 - I dunno that I'd rank it #1, but this has to be at least in the top 3 of best horror movies of all time. Kind of hard to call it #1, there's so many good horror films and a few of them might be a close tie for #1. Considering it was made in the early 70's, they did a pretty good job with the special effects. If you're particularly superstitious, I'd recommend turning out all the lights in the house and watching this one on a dark and stormy night along with a fresh pair of underwear for once you crap the ones you're wearing.

I would rate that one probably a 3/10. I went to see it when it came out in theaters. I would've asked for my money back, but I would've felt wrong for doing it since I knew before it was halfway through that it was going to be horrible and should've walked out when I first realized that fact. At that point, I would've felt a little more justified in asking for a refund. But I actually sat there from start to finish, so I just accepted it and went home. That's kinda like eating a meal at a restaurant, cleaning your entire plate, THEN saying that it tasted like shit and refusing to pay the check. See, I do have a conscience despite what people may say.

The plot sucked, but it's based on a game made at which time the best video game plot consisted of "Thank you, but our princess is in another castle." If you expected a good plot then the movie should have gotten up and walked out on you.

I do think some nostalgia is missing, but short of that it was all just space marines killing demons and zombies. I also think that the homage to (rip off of) Aliens was cool.

Hobo With A Shotgun - 9/10 - Starring Rutger Hauer. I kinda thought Rutger Hauer was a bit too old to still be doing shoot-em-up movies, but boy was I wrong. The high rating I give it probably isn't what most people would give it, but it's just because it's my kinda movie. If you've ever seen a Robert Rodriguez film (like Machete, Planet Terror, or From Dusk Til Dawn), they're all pretty over-the-top and exaggerated with the violence and gore. This one wasn't directed by Robert Rodriguez (it was directed by Jason Eisner, never heard of him before), but if someone told you it was, you'd sure as hell believe it. Lots and lots of quite imaginative gore. The whole movie has a bit of a 70's noir feel to it, partly helped along by the vivid colorization they used throughout the film to give it that old look. Just a really demented movie. Like I said, if you love Robert Rodriguez movies, WATCH THIS FUCKING MOVIE. IT'S TERRIFIC!

Priest 7/10

Beginning sucked horribly, middle was great, ending was lame. Ignoring the stylized "Let's make it look like a poorly drawn comic book" crap, this movie was boiled down to being a generic action-vampire movie. At that it was pretty good. The other thing I liked is that the mood of the movie was clearly aimed at large organized church, and not at religion in general. Not being more of the same one sided, outside looking in, hollywood cookie cutter takes on religion is really refreshing.

I do want to take another moment to point out how utterly retarded comic book stylizing in movies is. We get it, you want it to look like a comic book... but you forget that the most successful comic book movies (batman, superman, x-men, spiderman, Ninja turtles... etc.) never did it. It's not cool. It subtracts untold quality form the film, and it forces directors to choose between things that are cool today, and ACTUALLY TELLING THE STORY. It's very frustrating to see movies that should have been good, fall in with other piles of ripped off crap just to ride the wave. In 10 years people are going to look back at it and consider this stuff akin to Plan 9 and other B-Lot movies.

(And yes, I used plan 9 as an example because a select few, like Sin City, deserve cult status)

I dunno about cult status, but Sin City did a great job of capturing the feel that Frank Miller was going for with that comic series. The whole black and white posterized look of the books was a stylized attempt at giving it a bit of a 50's noir feel, something the movie did an excellent job of. I know I've used the term "noir" a lot lately in describing movies, but Sin City probably captured that essence the best possible way. Protagonists that are the strong silent type with a murky past, tortured conscience, yet have a heart of gold. Inner monologues that are written pretty well and read even better to help tell the story without sounding forced, contrived, and cheesy. Even great movies like Kill Bill vol1&2 didn't do as good of a job at it.

I was trying to cleverly tie in that I liked Sin City. The black, white, and red all over effect was cool for a while. After it wore off and got super annoying, the movie was still really good. So because it did good despite of its lame gimmick, that makes it the best of the recent comic book movies. I liked 300 too, despite it's retarded comic book styling. One forgotten movie that pulled off it's comic book styling without hitch is Dick Tracey. They cleverly used backdrops, movie props, and wardrobe colors to portray the original style without having to add stupid editing effects. Had they waited until today to do the movie, they probably would have used those stupid editing effects and made it REALLY suck.

I knew it was going to be about as funny as an instructional video on knitting so I tried to not watch it. Accidentally walked in on the last 30 minutes. Calling it low brow is an insult to cave-men. Describing it as dick and fart jokes is an insult to fart jokes. Calling it unfunny is an insult to dane cook. It's by far the worst B lot comedy ever produced. I may even demand my $1 back from redbox.

I remember watching this when I was like 7-8 and dying laughing.  I used to watch it like crazy, until my mom actually heard some of the shit Rik Mayall was saying when I was watching it one day and she threw the movie away .  He doesn't say anything too bad, but whatev.  I forgot all about this movie til I saw some kind of article somewhere about how they were possibly remaking the movie and using Russel Brand as Drop Dead Fred this time since he is almost Rik Mayall to a damn T, in the sense of how he acts and talks etc.  But anywaysssssssss.....I dunno why, but I really like this movie and thought it was funny as hell.  Just some of the shit Rik does is fucking hilarious especially between: "It's the MEGABITCH!", or the "Icky icky dog poo" scene, rofl, and the part where he looks up Elizabeth's mom's skirt and says "COBWEBS!" and his facial expression rofl.  Now that I typed a novel, apparently somebody has this movie posted on youtube in 10 parts which means I can watch this movie while I'm at work off my phone which is sweet haha.  But here's the youtube link to part 1:
