Not a big fan of the 80's new wave shit. Not at all. It's like they took what The Cars were doing in the late 70's and made it even more awkward and dorky than Rick Ocasek himself
looks
. But this one song... not too bad. Has a nice riff, has a nice groove, has nice energy. Just a catchy song. Really don't like anything else The Fixx ever did.
And man... what a bad video. That's the early 80's for you though.

The video sucks in my opinion,... but the song is great.

've been enjoying this quirky tune

a more traditional music video version here, which is also creative:

on paper, listening to a 21 minute long drum n bass track sounds like one of the single most boring things on the planet. this song however...

So I decided to get into
the critically respected genre of trance music
. I actually liked some of it;

http://www.youtube.com/v/JtFypj6s-qM
http://www.youtube.com/v/LwQ4bR1esUg
http://www.youtube.com/v/z3Gu7CXfRdA
I'd say about 85% of the stuff I actually listened to was boring as shit. Barely any of it could hold a good melody if it was glued to their damn arms, and most of it is just the same beat with the same pulse for about 7+ minutes. It's just as bad as hearing the same fucking Amen break in drum and bass for over 8 minutes. I think there's a lot of gold to be found in this style of music when it's done right, but a genre of music that depends on it's entire audience to be too coked up on E to realize that the songs they're dancing to are way too pretentious and generic to be taken seriously by the rest of the actual music world is probably never going to expanded upon in a way that's actually interesting. Unless you count groups like Underworld and movements like goa/psy, but I think that's cheating.

I like the art for this album cover. Looks like me with white hair skinning a giant horned muskrat for breakfast. THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN! YEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

I posted something about this band in another place: through a round about way I discovered this band and their one CD. Can't stop listening to it. Dave Grohl on drums, Josh Homme on guitar and.....wait for it.....John Paul Jones on bass. The songs are "different" and the band is obviously talented. Their live recordings on utube show just how tight they were. Forgive me if I'm late to the party.
I'll attach a link or two. If you haven't yet heard them, check it out......then buy the CD or record (I bet it would sound killer on an old fashioned turntable).
