Welcome aboard, glad to see people come and be apart of the forum community as well =)

Was this just one game?  Lots of people have it in them to have a great game that is above their typical level of play for ONE game.  Play him a few more times, on different days, and then see if it truly has been this transformation you seem to have credited it with.

Yeah, every few months I start playing Everquest again and get totally addicted to that (pretty much literally) and stop playing Quake 2 for a bit.  I've been playing EQ here lately the past 3 weeks? or so.  I did pop onto the DS server real quick last night I think it was.  I'll probably always play Q2 here and there, sometimes I have more motivation to play it for whatever reason =)

Like others have said, if you just wanna play online DM, then download the demo, then the full 3.20 patch and you're all set.  Both of those are legal downloads I believe.

Both frags incredibly sweet =)  Highlight material right there =)  Great timing on the 2nd rail shot/kill.

...like a shotgun pickup that says what gun someone is picking up...

There is such a thing?  Does the shotgun trigger a unique weapon pick-up sound that I wasn't aware of?  I thought all weapons made the same sound when being picked up.

I caught the 4 Non-blondes reference Dukie!  No clue what it has/had to do with this thread though =P

Seems like everytime I kill Slipknot he has a "WTF"? bind

2 games recently though, one tonight, I was not able to even move off a pad it seemed without getting killed, and Slipknot actually beat me I think on DM5 by like 10-15 kills, and that's a good map for me usually.  Then tonight I lost hardcore on DM5 again I think, hmm, maybe a pattern, not sure.  I lost again tonight by like 10-15 frags after winning probably 20+ in a row?  Well I lost a couple to Ghost9 I believe.

Bottom line is, I play too much  :help:

DS Warehouse AND Mage Warehouse are in full effect.  Have been playing a lot on DS Warehouse/q2dm8 lately and have been having a blast.  I love that map, very fast paced and I can get around the map really quickly which is fun.

I was mistaken when I earlier said that DS had forced anti-cheat.  It appears to be a great, stable server.

I thought all Brit's used timers, that way they don't miss when its time for Tea.

 :lolsign:

No surprise to the people that have read my posts in previous quad-related topics that I support no quad, especially in this tourney.  I think Laurelin's reasoning is good in that you won't have an overly lop-sided score in any given map where quad is a factor, and you only have one player *cough*Elysium*cough* (lol) going after quad with a timer, and winning by a landslide against similarly skilled players.

I always remember them (the {PIT} crew, I do miss 'em =P) having a 2-man camp setup in the rail room on DM4.  They seemed to NEVER be wary of someone rocket jumping into there from the window, and I'd always take them both out before they knew what was going on.  Sometimes they'd get off one frantic/panic rail in my general direction, lol.

Nice shot, and I also like your prediction rocket on the 2nd enemy you see where he jumped up on YA boxes, then back to the chain stairs, and you shoot at the stairs, almost catching him.  That one was almost better hehe.

Quake / Re: My Computer and My Budget

Don't listen to Adam... well for this anyway.  Adam is from the UK and the prices suck there for computer stuff... well at least compared to the prices here in the US, assuming you're in the US =)

As for computer suggestions.... I don't have time to help you right now, but I'll try to put my 2 cents in later, if others haven't already given you some good suggestions by then.  $260 can maybe buy you a really low end rig, that might be enough for your needs, you might need a little more, not sure.  Besides, a "really low end rig" is more than enough to play Q2 and CS 1.6 very smoothly these days.  Q2 is 10 years old this year (I think).
