Didn't get to watch the UFC Fight Night 125 Machida vs Anders this weekend, so I piratebay'd it and watched it this morning.

First of all, the event was in Brazil...

Dunno if anyone else saw this entire card, but I'm getting really tired of these judges in Brazil in particular always turning in results that reflect who they want to win the fight rather than who actually won the fight based on the usual scoring standards. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, if you're not a Brazillian fighting in Brazil, you'd better finish or undeniably, totally, and completely dominate your opponent. That's the only way you win. If it's split decision, it always goes in favor of the Brazillian.

That's pretty much the story of EVERY fight on the entire card, from the early prelims, to the prelims, to the main card, to the main event. I was pretty interested in seeing Lyoto Machida fight again. But prior to that fight, I had witnessed an ongoing series of bullshit biased decisions. So the by the time Machida and Anders got after it, I was annoyed. I watched the first round for maybe 30 seconds. Machida standing in his karate pose, and Anders being too scared to just bulldoze into him and fuck his shit up. They just stood there dancing around each other, too scared to do anything. Finally Anders slipped and fell on his ass, and Machida jumped on top and landed in his guard. I hadn't even seen one punch land or get blocked at that point...  but I still said, "Fuck this. I know who's gonna win - It's gonna be Machida by split decision, guaranteed." So I FFW'd to the end, and sure enough, I was right.
        

Since I didn't see the whole fight, you could say, "Well maybe Machida won legit." But I did watch the "move of the fight" recaps, and Machida was the one bleeding all over the place while Anders looked untouched. That doesn't always tell the whole store, but it USUALLY tells most of the story. Knowwhatimean?

How come people aren't taking to social media in droves to complain about this shit that happens EVERY FUCKING TIME the UFC steps foot outside of Nevada?

They do complain that I see, and the brazillian fan base equally retaliates haha. The refs are super biased in brazil. I didn't watch the fight, but in Machida's case being super elusive, evasive, boring, stupid, etc. HE out of all brazillians could win a silly points battle in a lame fight even if looking like got beat up. But, I didn't watch it so I don't know. He can at least sell it to the judges the best. He's getting older though now so he's gotta be getting worse at doing that routine.

It wasn't entirely the refs being biased, that was ALL on the judges. Herb Dean and Mario Yamasaki were there, along with that beefy brit ref who's a regular too, I can't remember his name though. But they also had some non-regulars reffing too. If the refs during that card did anything wrong it was not being strict enough about the fence grabbing, which was happening a TON all night long with no referee correction from any of the non-regulars. (Herb, Mario, and the british guy handled it as usual though) Brazil has actually adopted the new revamped rules, which many places in the US outside of Vegas have NOT adopted yet. I was under the impression that part of the new rules was to make the refs start being MUCH stricter on fence grabbing and jabbing with outstretched fingers. And to the regular refs credits, that Brit guy actually did his job and STOPPED the fight to stand the fighters up and chew one of them a new asshole for not listening to him when he told him to stop hitting him in the back of the head. If the brazillian ref was in there and even bothered telling them to stop grabbing the fence (75% of the time, they didn't even say anything), then the guilty fighter would just flagrantly ignore them and keep doing it with no consequences.

I'm not being Nationalist either. I don't care where a fighters from. I just want a fight where the fighters follow the rules of the game, and the refs ENFORCE the rules when they don't.

Machida's elusiveness isn't going to win him a fight anymore,... unless he fights in Brazil where they revere him as much as the Gracie clan. Back when fighters could get away with doping by doing whatever it was they were doing with IV drips or whatever, he had the energy and stamina to run away from someone. In my opinion, doping was the only way Jon Jones had the edge to beat DC. Because when he first came back and fought Ovince St Preux, he pissed clean for every test, and by the 2nd round, he looked like he was trudging through knee-deep river mud. A guy that tall and lanky throws with incredible power in round 1, but they always get tired faster throwing strikes and slow to a crawl by the start of the 3rd. You didn't see him get tired against DC like he did with OSP... probably because the dope increases oxygen capacity in the blood.

So maybe that is kinda why Machida doesn't look as deadly vs his opponents as we remember he used to be. Or maybe he's just getting old. Honestly, I think at least a portion of it is the fact that everyone else in the UFC has improved so much in the last 6 or 7 years that they make Machida look less impressive by comparison. These guys in the #20 to #10 slots tend to look like better fighters than the former champs from 7 years ago.

Just got done watching UFC on Fox - Emmett vs Stephens.

I'm very surprised at how Dan Mirgliota didn't say jack shit to Stephens about those illegal elbows to the back of the head as well as that HUGELY ILLEGAL knee to the top of the head of a CLEARLY DOWNED OPPONENT in a state where the new rules don't apply, and it doesn't matter if they DID apply because he still had BOTH HANDS on the mat and it was STILL COMPLETELY ILLEGAL.

WHAT THE FUCK! People have money on this shit. Not me luckily. But what the fuck do small time books do when people don't wanna pay for a loss they say was illegal? God damn bullshit. UFC needs to get their fucking shit together.

Khabib the guy we all knew was the baddest of them all 4 years ago came through. Conor needs a different formula to beat him.

As for the post-events that reminded me of WWF:

I never like that shit. But, as a fan of McGregor I also think Dillon danis is pitiful and an idiot. Part of me liked khabib going after him even though I dissapprove.

I was 95% sure Nurmagamedov was gonna win just like he did. He's not a well rounded fighter in my opinion, very predictable, which should make him easier to gameplan for. Seems like McGregor DID plan for lots of takedown defense and grappling. He's certainly gotten better at maneuvering on the bottom. Dunno if he's still a brown belt in BJJ, but I thought when he got his brown belt after the Denis Siver fight years ago that it was premature. At the least he's grown into that belt now.

McGregor might be a loudmouth shithead, but last night was ALL on Khabib. HE started point and screaming and instigating. HE jumped the cage, leaped over 2 rows of people, and attacked the guy. Then part of his entourage hops the cage and sucker punches McGregor from behind. Hopefully they charge Nurmagamedov AND his friend with assault. Personally, I think they should've DQ'd him at the end rather than crediting him with a win. How many times have you ever seen that kind of shit happen at big IBF boxing matches? None that I can recall. The whole deal with this fight turned me off, with the childish jawing at each other, the "bus incident", the commercials that make the fight sound more important than it really is. And Dana White is as guilty as anyone else. He prods his fighters to engage in this kind of behavior because it produces more income. If they don't get this kind of bullshit under control and start conducting themselves like a PROFESSIONAL fight organization rather than WWE style "sports entertainment" promoters, they're gonna have a situation like what happened on the Jerry Springer show a long time ago. Springer kept bringing on guests with crazy stories and allowing them to get into brawls in front of the audience. Eventually he had a guy on there who got forcefully outed as being gay, and in retaliation, he found his secret gay admirers house and shot him to death. After that, the Springer show became nothing but paid actors with scripted fights.

I couldn't watch it last night, I was busy watching my Bulldogs kick the shit out of Vanderbilt. But I downloaded it today at lunchtime and watched it. Connor didn't punch ANYONE.

Khabib finally managed to take Connor's back in the 4th round.. which kind of impressed me because I didn't think McGregor would be able to do anything on the ground, but he managed to grapple and keep moving to where Khabib was never able to pin him in one spot and start ground-n-pounding on him. But in the 4th, Connor made one wrong move and Khabib took his back, got his right arm around his neck/jaw, and started squeezing down on it for a neck crank. Connor tapped, Khabib wouldn't let go until Herb Dean had to forcibly rip Khabib's arm off his jawline, at which point Khabib stood up and started yelling shit down at McGregor. Herb Dean pushed him away, and at that point Khabib began stomping towards the side of the cage with Connor's people. He took his mouthpiece out and threw it at them, at which point one of the in-ring security people in the red sport coats came over and tried to block Khabib from getting at them. Khabib shoved him aside, jumped the fence, and leaped over about 2 or 3 rows of people in order to attack McGregor's BJJ coach. For some reason, Khabib's interpreter/coach/whatever he is (the one with the bad russian bowl cut hairdo and Muslim beard like they all fuckin have) was ALREADY THERE AS WELL. I dunno why he'd be on the same side of the cage with McGregor's team. But there were about 6 cops grabbing him around the neck and pulling him off someone. At that point, one of Khabib's friends jumped inside the cage, ran up behind McGregor when he didn't see him, and sucker punched him in the jaw from behind, at which point a sea of MORE COPS rushed in and grabbed him and drug him away from where McGregor was standing. The whole time, McGregor never retaliated, not once, didn't swing at anyone, wasn't yelling, just had a look on his face like "wtf!?!"

The whole situation last night was ENTIRELY Khabib Nurmagamedovs fault. During the fight, he was shit talking at McGregor while punching him from full mount. When Ref Herb Dean stopped the fight, he continued yelling angrily at McGregor. Then he decided to start yelling at his corner crew. They didn't do anything to draw his attention, he zeroed in on them himself by CHOICE. And even if they were saying rude shit to him, that's no excuse to jump out of the cage and ATTACK someone. In the cage, you fight for sport and competition. Outside of it, it's called ASSAULT and it's illegal. I don't watch UFC to see fucking dumbass thugs in street fights and controversy, I watch it to see PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES who COMPETE. That kinda bullshit continues... guess what Dana White, Bellator is still around, and they actually have GOOD FIGHTS.

Dillon danis is THE most pitiful person in mma. Did the wannabe Irish pussies got a taste of their own medicine? They do stuff like that, and now the McGregor fans want to act like pacifists and they're promoting sportsmanship. What a fooking joke. Lol

I'm actually a big fan of McGregor and khabib, and I hate seeing that shit. I completely agree, but I'm just acknowledging of what I think is hypocrisy.

I saw it live. When I watched it live, I thought McGregor didn't initiate anything either. Seeing some of the replays, it does appear that Conor was the first to throw a punch towards someone on Khabib's team before they attacked him. Khabib was the first one that launched an attack before anyone though, when he leaped and did like a Donkey Kong overhand punch on Dillon Danis (Conor's BJJ coach). When Conor jumped to hop the fence and assist, someone grabbed him when he was on top, but then that's when one of Khabib's crew, who was at that time inside the cage, jumped on top of the cage as well (presumably to join what was going on outside), within arm's reach of Conor, and Conor threw a left at him. After that is when at least two more of Khabib's crew attacked Conor, including the guy in the red who landed at least two or three shots on Conor.
