Man, that was sad. He got his ass handed to him in the 2nd. Kimbo's learned a little bit about how to work on the ground, but he hasn't learned shit about kicks. He needs to stick to straight boxing.

Hard for Kimbo to compete apparently when the person he is against happens to be not afraid of em..and big enough to do damage toe to toe with em.

Everyone knew this was inevitable, was predicted by many people that skilled fighters were simply to much for Kimbo....all of a sudden all his famous street fight tapes look bland and uninteresting.

Yeah, I think he'd continue to do well as street brawler... if there were any forum for that type of fighting other than in illegal street fights.

He just doesn't have the experience and training to compete in the UFC. You can take the biggest baddest motherfucker in the entire prison from 20 different prisons (and they'd all be quite comparable in weight and size to Kimbo Slice) and every last one of them would get owned in UFC because those guys are just "professional", they have trained for it since they were young kids. Most of them know more than 2 or 3 different techniques as opposed to the street brawler type of fighting that consists of mostly punching. That's why I say he'd probably be better off training up to be a professional boxer if he'd like to continue any kind of mainstream fighting professionally. He seems to dislike having to use kicks for some reason. Plus, he seems to be able to take some pretty hard blows to the head and body without losing too much steam. I don't think any major boxing association would allow him to keep the beard though.

He's a fairly small heavyweight, weight-wise anyway. I think he weighed in at like 225. Perhaps he could cut down to the 205 class and do a lot better there. He's 36 too... so no spring chicken either.

I personally think Paquiao would beat the dog shit out of Mayweather...and Mayweather seems to know it too, he dodges alot.

UFC took a gamble on Kimbo. Thing is, he didn't just get a card straight into the octagon. He had participate in the "Ultimate Fighter" show before he was allowed to enter a sanctioned fight (akaik. please correct me if I'm wrong

He showed promise there and tried his best. The display in that fight WAS pitiful. He completely collapsed into a turtle position when he should have, as we all heard from the commentary, bridged and struggled to get free.

The way he just gave up (aka turtling and, i don't know..., hoped for an opening) was a display of someone who was just hoping someone would call it or let the square off again. That's not how it's done in the UFC or the majority of the MMA leagues. He needs to learn that nobody is going to help him out. He must rely upon himself to get out of these situations or start to train on how to.

As much as I used to rag on his street fight vids, I have to say that he's put in the effort to make himself legit. He just needs to build on his skills and understand that he's against people that are seasoned fighters and know that he doesn't have a multifaceted approach to fighting in an MMA atmosphere.

These things have been said already so sorry if I sound redundant.

It helped him out before when people were afraid of him either by his size or his reputation. He was up against a guy who had played in the NFL for several years. He's gone head to head with guys even bigger than Slice before. Sure, in pads, but probably the only guys you'll ever find in the NFL with a fear of being hit are kickers and the occasional backup quarterback. Everyone already knew that Slice was a completely one-dimensional fighter, I honestly think that the president of UFC only allowed that fight to happen as an excuse to fire him without upsetting the fans.

Kimbo was a ratings ploy to me. It was funny to see him in there, but i will not miss him now that hes gone. It think rampage might win in ufc 114...but he always eats leg kicks and falls apart it seems. Evans can kick too

I'm glad UFC and other MMA organizations like DREAM have taken off. Boxing was just so boring. I remember back when UFC was just starting out, they had a really limited number of competitors and inevitably someone from the Gracie clan would win them all. It was kinda funny, I was supposed to go see one of the first ones here in Atlanta, but at the last minute, the city decided to pull their permit and they had to move it to somewhere in Tennessee. They thought it was just too hardcore and too dangerous for the fighters. From what I've seen, UFC has always been more closely officiated and safer than some other MMA orgs. People in DREAM regularly get nearly beat to death before they end it.

I for one am psyched to see these two finally drop all the shit talking and get the match done, Rampage is a fucking animal but Evans isn't a joke either...going to be a good fight (I hope), not anticipating any first round k.o. but it wouldn't all together supprise me with as much power that will be flying back and forth.
