When I first arrived on scene I thought the window was out because a sprinkler had gone off, it looked like the blinds were pushed out by the force of the water.

I asked on of the fire crewmen if I could head up to the suite to start extracting all the water with our wet-vacs and he said not until they remove a body and get the all clear from investigators.

They had the severely burnt guy sitting on the curb as they tended to his skin and fed him o2 while the other geurney had a body on it that I cannot describe.

Well last night should of been a blast, my buddy came home on leave and we decided to celebrate the occasion the right way with alot of alchohol, we all got smashed but it was weird....like...he didn't seem himself at all, kind of just stared sometimes--didn't wanna talk about the shit he'd been doin there or anything within reach of the subject.... $:-\$ was really weird, because last time he was on leave he told me all about it--everything he'd done etc....now the subject is pretty fuckin taboo...dunno, any thoughts?

It's called the 1000-yard stare and anyone who has seen serious combat knows it. He has seen some serious shit and he didn't like it. He has also realized his own mortality or has seen one or more buddies in his unit killed or seriously wounded. He will talk about it when he's ready but probably not with you if you are non-combat or civilian. You wouldn't understand it.

Don't make fun of it or play it lightly. If he does talk about it, just listen, don't make stupid comments about how cool it is that somebody got fragged. Pay attention to comments about suicide or wreckless behavior beyond the usual mosh-pit self-destructive behavior he may have exhibited with you in the past. Look up the symptoms of depression and post-traumatic stress syndrome and be aware of them in him. Refer him to professional counselling if he is discharged from the service.

Your buddy is in some serious pain.

I couldn't imagine a person like him getting all headfucked like that but then again I know he's seen combat...who knows what kind of fucked up pictures he has in his head $:-\$ well ill be keeping an eye on em, ill be heading to chill with em today sometime.

tonight was fuckin insane !!!!!!! , we hadg like 8 cases of bud light between like 11 peoplee and a beer bong that held 5 beers in it--had 2 hosesd so 2 can do it at once (did I mention im fuckin wasted right now) I did so many of em I had to walk home....jesus christ im fucking smashed

i just drank 2 jooses (24oz, 9.9% alc) then smoked the other half of my blunt of straight sour diesel. one heineken and then its off to bed for another long day's work
