How does one know when they are "falling down drunk" if they are seated the whole time?

I've heard of people getting DUI's on bicycles. Is it possible to get a DUI in a wheelchair?

You can't get a dui on a bike i don't think man. I've tested that way too many times... here and in the city. You can on a scooter or jetski though :>

If they can't get you for DUI then im sure they can nail you for something else. public intoxication.

Actually, I met a guy once who got a DUI on a bicycle. He was riding home from the bar (because he lost his drivers licence for a 2nd in 5 years DUI) and a cop drove past and stopped him. Merry Christmas, another DUI. And 3 in 5 years makes it a felony offense.

I didn't think to ask him how much it cost to impound his bicycle.

as of yesterday i'm never drinking again.

1) you can know wtf is up when you're talking to women, if you're drunk you usually just end up saying stupid shit, that turns them off or pisses them off (at least for me)
2) i'm still hung over and I drank 24 hours ago

i wasn't drunk, but I got a dui off .03 lastnight w/ an open container. It was with the park service, anyone else ever have to go to federal court for a dui?

no, but I don't think you can plead a duai down any further than a duai, basically the judge has no discretion, and unless you can discredit the charge (looks impossible to me..unless the officer made an error, you're out of luck). but that's new york's law, I don't know about other states, or a federal thing. duai is above .05 here. unless you are driving erradicly, or are drinking in your car - i'm not sure if the latter changes anything. basically you should get a lawyer anyway, and he'll tell you what's up.

if it was more severe, you should refuse the blood test, or breathalizer, because then if it goes to trial it's much harder to prove exactly what happened. although you will pay high fines, it's better than having a stronger case for jailtime.

in NY this is what you'd get:
about 750 dollar fine to the dmv.
300 dollars to go to six obnoxiously boring classes to get a conditional licenses (each three hours long)
a substance abuse program (this could cost you thousands), but without a huge income free insurance should take care of all of it. if you have insurance, it depends how good it is, you may have to pay for drug tests at 150 a pop with _your insuance. basically you can drink all you want, and smoke crack, but whatever you do, don't smoke weed, because that stays in your system. sure it's possible to pass the tests, but it's really a pain
500 for a lawyer
600 in fines from the court
higher insurance
an accident prevention course (75 dollars)
vicitim impact panel 35 dollars
tons of time in court

my advice is do everything they tell you, and don't break the rules as much as you can. which is pretty much impossible, because with a conditional license you technically can't stop to get gas, unless it's the one hour a week you have to drive anywhere (you can't stop to get gas going to work). and when you go to the classes, follow a very simple philosphy to get out as quickly as possible, don't say anything unless you know they'll agree with you.

.03 that's lame, but driving drunk is bad!
