Coffinegar and whiskey. What the hell is coffinegar, you might ask. Well that's when you have horrid looking shit floating in every cup of coffee you make with your Keurig coffee maker, so you follow the directions to clean/de-scale it by running distilled white vinegar through it, and even after you run 3 full reservoirs of plain water through it to flush it out, the coffee still tastes like fucking vinegar... and still has shit floating in it.

2 seconds away from taking this damn thing outside and setting it on fire.

I was playing bartender at home last night. Last week I ran across some Red Rock golden ginger ale at a little hole in the wall farmers market not far from me that sells locally grown stuff. Hadn't seen any of this stuff since the mid-90's, and even then it was pretty rare to find. Usually you'd only find it in some small backwoods out of the way general store or gas station. So I picked up a few 6 packs of it. This stuff ain't like your regular Schweppes or Canada Dry ginger ale, which are "supposedly" made with real ginger. This stuff is ACTUALLY made with real honest-to-god ginger, so it's got a good bit of spicy burn to it like pepper juice or horseradish.

Anyway, I was making several things. Gin Thing (gin, ginger ale, dash of lemon juice), ginger whiskey sour (whiskey, ginger ale, dash of lemon juice, sugar), Ginger Buffalo Sweat (Bacardi 151, OJ, ginger ale, tabasco). This shit's awesome for cocktails. Gonna have to keep my liquor cabinet stocked with it from now on. I highly recommend it... if you can find it, and I doubt you ever will. It's not too fun the next morning if you drink too much shit though. My stomach feels like a giant ulcer this morning, haha!

Like I said, it's... "spicy", is how I'd describe it. It literally burns your mouth and throat to drink it. Which is probably why it's not more popular than it is. I'd guess most people would find that unappealing, especially since people aren't used to that kinda thing in ginger ale anymore.

Apparently they made this stuff way way back in the day and it was kinda-sorta popular back then. Apparently THE Babe Ruth even hocked the product in ads for a while, so that tells that you how long it's been. And back then there were tons of weird beverages on the market that people today haven't heard of, some of them they still make, some of them they don't. Shit like "Nehi". I dunno if they still make it (probably not), but I've seen quite a few antique metal sign ads for it.

From what the bottle says, it's made in Georgia, so I dunno if it's available outside of GA at all. If it is, it's probably just in the very very rare mom-n-pop gas station somewhere in the southeast. You can probably find somewhere online selling it I'm sure, but they'll likely have a minimum purchase of something like 2 or 3 cases.

Apparently they no longer sell Fosters lager in 6 or 12 pack bottles. Only way you can get it is in the big oilcan.

Uh... nah. I don't drink imports in cans. Cans change the flavor of whatever's in it, true story. They spray the insides with some kinda shit that leeches into whatever they fill the can with. Fuck a can.

Been drinking some pretty strong Harvey Wallbangers. Basically using the "traditional" recipe, with a bit of my own over-alcohol'd twist to it. Instead of using regular vodka, I'm using 110ish proof homemade vodka made from tater mash. This shit is strong enough to blister paint off a car fender, haha! Also, instead of using regular orange juice, I'm using homemade orange juice hooch that's fermented to probably about 15-20% alc/vol. Stir it together on ice, then pour on a layer of Galliano (which is 60 proof, like a really super strong desert wine), which has a bit of a licorice taste with hints of vanilla all on it's own, but mixed in OJ, you really can't taste the vanilla at all. Always a good idea to keep some Galliano in your liquor cabinet, it's a key ingredient in tons of different pretty deranged cocktails.

So anyway, yeah, I should be good and smashed in another hour or two.
