I thought the Dawgs brought the defense against FLA, they were living in the FLA backfield.

How could FLA beat teams like LSU and A&M and play the way they did against Lafayette 

The FLA offense has been non-existent most of this year, the defense has been saving their butts.
I look for another tough game this week, I think they are playing some community college 

FLA St. will dominate them, the only reason it probably won't be a blowout is the FLA defense.  I predict FLA won't get more than 10 points.
My prediction is FLA St. 28  FLA 10.

Yeah yeah yeah. I know what to expect. Let the Falcon bashing begin. Enjoy it. Saints got lucky that Roddy White on that next to last pass didn't get turned around in time to run under that pass, he had a good 4 or 5 steps on the two defenders who let him get over the top of them.

Lucky on that play, no doubt.  But it was one play.  Face it, the Falcons have not played the most difficult schedule up to this point and they have been winning in close games.  I admit they have a very talented team and good coach and unless they have a bunch of injuries they will make the playoffs. At that point, we'll have a better idea of how far they can go.

I wish the Saint's could play with the attitude they had today for the rest of the year, but they won't.  My 4 win prediction may be too low; they may get six.  You're right about Ivory, he runs with violence; he may get hurt, but if he runs over and around a bunch of cowering falcons for one more game I'll take it. No gloating intended..... we are 4-5 and the Falcons are 8-1.  That speaks for itself.  But I go to bed tonight knowing the 1st loss was inflicted by a sorry N.O. team.

I took some Zanaflex for back spasms prior to the game, so I slept through the live version.  I recorded it and burned through the replay and didn't catch the full aspect of that play.  White sure looked wide open and I was just glad it hit the ground.     I'm sure I'll check it out again when I have more time.  Nothing beats seeing the Saints put the Falcons in their place.....hehe.

The Bucs won their third in a row yesterday to raise their record to 5-4.  I still don't feel that they are a playoff team yet.
They are 5-4 but the combined record of their opponents is 33-49 and they have only played two teams who have winning records.
The rest of the season will be tougher, their remaining opponents have a record of 34-28.  I see the Bucs finishing 8-8.

FLA st will prob beat the gators by a little, they can still win though. I wouldn't be too pessimistic... the noles were really only tested against Clemson, and I guess ncstate since state won haha. They beat va tech and miami, and didn't play UNC(unc beat miami/va tech/ncstate.. not GT) or GA tech.

Sooo if the noles feel good going into that match against the gators, hopefully it's based on confidence in themselves and not some false notion. It'll probably close low scoring game.. boiling down to the gator's offense and the nole's defense(or lack of, for both).

Speaking of Georgia Tech, I dunno what the fuck happened against North Carolina. I haven't seen the Jackets score that many points on somebody in a LOOOOONG time. Almost makes me wonder what to expect when Georgia plays them in two weeks. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think Georgia has lost to them ONCE since Paul Johnson took over as head coach at Georgia Tech, which includes 4 or 5 years ago when Joe Cox was still QB for Georgia (before Aaron Murray). So historically speaking, Georgia has the superior gameplan. But with the Bulldogs facing Auburn and Georgia Southern in consecutive previous weekends (both piss poor teams), Georgia's defense might assume they can coast for that game and end up giving up too many points. Honestly, I hope Georgia Tech does bring their A-game again for that one and keep UGA on their toes. God knows they'll need the extra practice defending against runs going into the SEC Championship game. Their defense hit a mid-season slump in the run defense department. Past game or two, they seem to be back in shape, but who knows how long it'll last.

Really looking forward to next months bowl season. Usually it's just the major bowl games like the Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl, Cotton Bowl, etc, that I'm excited about watching, but there should be plenty of other minor bowl games that should be very interesting too depending on how they pair the schools up. Considering that even the remaining undefeated teams don't look entirely unbeatable at all times, it appears as though ANY game could be that one amazing game to watch.

Yeah, they played well... paul j. and their offensive c. did good shit to prepare for our defense... At a glance, I can kind of see how a 4-2-5 D could be exposed by the multitude of quick offensive options... I think that, plus unc having the worst safeties and corners in the nation, plus unc's defense not even doing too good to begin with, is what lost the game in general haha. Can't BELIEVE the lack of coverage there was on GA tech's classic pray-to-baby-jesus-that-someone-catches-this-on-3rd-down passes. They got like, 4-5 TD passes off dudes abandoning their man / the long options(see plus #1).

I could talk about the fumbled snap to a TD pass, or the interception to a TD pass, or whatever offensive fails we had but unc still put 50 points on the board against a ga tech defense that was playing marginally better than their own. 68-50 actually set an ACC record for highest total points, and that was the most points allowed ever in that stadium. GT had had a good game plan, came to play, and beat unc home on senior's night. So kudos to them, and with that loss that means unc doesn't auto-win the division anymore(unc is disallowed from post-conference games, so it wasn't in the discussion to begin with).

But yeah, I was surprised too with GA tech putting that much points up...although some of them were easy. Normally high scoring / heavy offensive games in the acc, these days, are from clemson fsu and unc, and normally a team doesn't break 68.

If you remember several years back, 2009 I think, Georgia Tech was getting some MAJOR national attention with their run option offense that Paul Johnson brought. I remember they even made the cover of Sports Illustrated mid-season. They were all the rage, and sports columnists across the country were kissing their ass. And exactly what you mentioned above is part of how they were able to continue their winning streak all season (with the exception of one loss to Miami) until their final game against Georgia. None of their ACC opponents had ever gone up against a team crazy enough to execute nothing but run plays exclusively, especially option run plays. And to their credit, they DID execute the option run very intelligently in most cases. And within a handful of downs, teams saw nothing but run after run after run, which would force their defense to commit too hard to run defense... and that's when QB Josh Nesbitt would drop back and heave it down the field to Demaryius Thomas, their secret weapon wide receiver.

While Georgia Tech might've gotten some fame and glory out of such a terrific season, it also got the attention of defensive coordinators who tasked themselves with spending extra time studying all the looks of the offense and designing specialized playbooks to use against run option offenses like Georgia Tech. And it's worked at stopping it, too. Since 2009, Georgia Tech with all their toughness on offense hasn't managed to become ranked top 25 again. They're a one trick pony, and most of their opponents don't have nearly as much trouble against them anymore.

Yea, God is real, but he could be a Notre Dame fan.    God involved in football scores?...I'm not so sure about that      College is so whacky I have no further comments or predictions for now.

Bucs might make the playoffs, Sgt. They seem to be getting a mojo. A mean mojo.
Falcons are a mirage. They may beat the Saints, but can they handle the Giants, Packers, or 49ers? O my, the 49ers looked like world beaters tonight against the bears.  And even with a short weeks rest and the game being in the dome, Saints vs 49ers could be ugly.  They are REALLY good in all phases and the backup QB looks better than Alex Smith.
