Georgia, although this year it is NOT the case, has a history of being a little overrated in the pre season...(as in, after their really good team in 2007 or whichever year that was)..

I think you're referring to the 2005 season when they last won the SEC East title. I would agree that they have been overrated, but not because they are just plain old overrated. They have been overrated based on their ACTIVE players at the start of each season for the past several seasons. Every damn year, they seem to get in trouble with the law either in the downtown Athens bar district (which is LITERALLY right across the street from the school), or one of the nearby towns, and usually for dumb shit like DUI or misdemeanor drug possession or some disorderly conduct, etc. Same shit this year, of course. If I remember correctly, back in late June, their star runningback Isaiah Crowell got pinched at a DUI checkpoint for illegal possession of a handgun. They also smelled weed in the car, which is what gave them cause to search the vehicle in the first place, but they never found any... so obviously they were smart enough to chuck it out or swallow it before they reached the checkpoint, but STUPID enough not to chuck the 9mm Luger out.

Crowell was a huge part of UGA's offense, because QB Aaron Murray is pretty good, but I really doubt he's quite good enough to have another 10 win season based solely on passing yards. That's a big hole in the offensive gameplan, and hopefully some of these other guys they've red-shirted can step up and get it done.

If it's the same card each time, might I suggest closing that account? There are people who make their entire living stealing actual credit cards as well as just the numbers on them, either by copying the number on the card or by using a device that reads the magnetic strip. All they have to do is stand close to you in a line in a store somewhere and scan the device over your wallet in your pocket to steal the data. They can also steal your mail to obtain account numbers. The dumb ones will use your account to purchase things for themselves, and it's usually a matter of time before they get caught doing it. The smarter ones will steal your info and sell it to illegal websites that deal stolen account information. They make only a very small amount of cash per account number stolen and sold, but they are less likely to be caught. You'd be amazed at how easy and cheap it is to find one of these websites and buy a stolen account number for 5 or 10 bucks each.

If you're smart enough, I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to buy an account number for 5 bucks, order a bunch of shit online, have it shipped to a PO box out of your local area, then collect the shit when it comes in, and abandon the box. Of course you'd want to wear a believable disguise and give false info when opening the box. No, I would never attempt such a thing. I've been to jail before, and I'm not gonna do something stupid and end up there again if I can help it. I hope no one else attempts this either. But... I can't help but think "what if" and dream of all the cool shit I could snag basically for free if I were crazy and stupid enough to try it. :D

It has been 3 different accounts over many years, but it still sucks.

Then I'd say either someone you know is taking advantage of you, or perhaps some clerk at a store you frequent has a racket going.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/gametracker/recap/NCAAF_20120901_ELON@UNC/north-carolina-62-elon-0

broke several school records and one ACC record for the opener(most return yardage in a game). I know it's elon, but it was still an exciting start for the season. Elon had some harsh losses w/ their 6-5 record last year but, their last 2 games of the season was a 24-28 loss to appstate and a 41-34 win on furman. So yeah, they're not good at football but they're capable of playing at the typical smaller school level.

Went to the see my Dawgs play at Sanford Stadium in Athens today. HOLY FUCK WAS IT HOT! I came prepared to watch some football and drink a bunch of beers, but I ended up chugging water instead. Jesus footfucking Christ, I thought football was a fall weather sport! I was kinda excited about this year because the majority of their schedule consists of home games (giving me plenty of opportunities to go see games), but I think I'm gonna wait until the weather gets a little cooler than the surface of the fucking sun to see another one.

They won, but it wasn't exactly the ass-whooping I expected it to be. Buffalo ain't half bad. Got to see Georgia's new freshman runningback in action. He's pretty good, but I still don't think he can replace Isaiah Crowell. Although... one play in the first half he did scream past every Buffalo defender to return a kickoff for a touchdown from about 2 yards deep in their own endzone, a school record for kickoff return yards supposedly. Not bad at all for a brand new freshman runningback replacing a star player. Hopefully it's a sign of more good things to come from him.

sounds like y'all just played an ok-game and it may have enabled them more so. I'm not too familiar with buffallo but i've never seen anything too good. Should have checked out that game a bit.

Anyone's thoughts on nc state v. tennessee?(i watched that last night)..

right now i'm watching clemson auburn and flipping to bama michigan on occasion.

oh, and here's a few highlights from the unc game, our defense has changed even more than our offense has possibly..

here's a little clip of a pass that got picked off but was still caught

It wasn't a very exciting game. Honestly the first half was the best and closest part of the game. That run back for a TD by the new RB (I forget his name at them moment) was the biggest highlight. Georgia played pretty half-assed defense in my opinion, but who the hell knows at this point. I'll be able to judge that better once the suspended players get their asses back on the field. Missing Rambo at the corner position is apparently a huge vacancy in the defense because Buffalo was fairly successful in their passing game. Not sure whether to attribute that to a decent QB or just a lack of D on UGA's part. All in all, Buffalo still impressed me even though they lost. It's not inconceivable to see them being #1 in whatever the fuck no name conference they are in.

SOOOOOOOOOO glad that college football season is back! NFL is cool too, but lately the NFL has been rather boring. For fucks sake, the New York Giants won the Superbowl last year! That shows you just how shitty every team was, because the Giants weren't exactly what I'd think of as a superbowl team. But the ncaa... Alabama and LSU were both neck and neck all year long. They meet once in regular season. No one thinks its possible for them to meet again, but somehow someway they do again, and for the national title. Fucking magic. That's how footballs supposed to be, people.

GA's new running back is Gurley, I mean that is his name

GA was not playing with all of their starters or they would have won by a bigger margin.

FL will be lucky if they can repeat the 7-6 season they had last year.  They barely beat a Bowling Green team that was 5-7 last year.
They won 27-14 but the BG kicker missed two short field goals.  BG had 22 first downs to FL 14  :ohlord:
FL had faster guys so they hit a couple of big plays for TD's, if it was not for that they lose.
FL offense looks one dimensional, the quarterbacks can't make consistent throws.  Against a better team, they will get beat.
They play Texas A&M next week in TX, I predict a loss for FL.

yeah, one of the school records UNC broke was most people played(else we would have broke the school record for most points in a game, also).

so earlier in this thread when I said this season will be the coming of the tar heels I was half-way joking... but, the no huddle spread fast-paced spread offense + the 4-2-5 defense seems to suit us well....as opposed to like, an NFL-ish formation when we're not a team that can pull that off.

I saw the ga tech v. va tech game last night and wasn't too impressed with either, so hopefully this will be the season where we do some work. Looking forward to facing both of those teams... we play wake forest next, then after that it's louisville, ecu, miami, and the hokies.. so after facing those 4 we'll have a better idea where unc is.

louisville ain't gonna be ranked in 11 days. ;)

I didn't see any of the GT v VT game, but I'm assuming that Paul Johnson is still the head coach of Georgia Tech and GT is still stubbornly stuck using nothing but his triple option run offense with the once-in-a-blue-moon long bomb pass (which even less frequently is completed) sprinkled in whenever they start getting trampled on the scoreboard. Until Paul Johnson pulls his head out of his ass and puts a PASSING AND RUNNING quarterback behind center, they're gonna get beat by teams who aren't as tough-as-nails as they are again and again. I'll give GT one thing, all their players big strong resilient guys who can plow through brick walls and get back up over and over, but that whole "lets do nothing but run every fucking play!" philosophy ain't fooling anyone anymore. It eats up clock and wastes time, which can be good, but its also shooting yourself in the foot when you can't SCORE doing that and the other team CAN.
