Calvin Johnson is a beast, everyone knows he is getting the ball and they still can't stop him.  He just passed Jerry Rice for the single season yardage record.   :notworthy:

He is already over 200 yards tonight, He will probably have 2,000 yards before the regular season ends.

Yeah yeah. But nevermind the fact that they LOST, and Atlanta clenched the #1 seed in the playoffs for homefield advantage. They barely mentioned that. No respect. After the game, there was one single lone lady from EPSN giving Matt Ryan his obligatory rushed post-game interview, meanwhile there were fucking mobs of reporters and photographers all clinging to Calvin Johnson's dick. :lolsign:

The Giants got dominated yesterday, that is 2 weeks in a row.

KC lost to Indy, but rushed for 352 yards  :purpleshock:

Cincy got past Pit while only rushing for 14 yards, AJ Green saved their asses by having a big day, 10 rec for 116 yards.

Houston is in the playoffs, but they have looked bad the last couple of weeks.

Adrian Peterson was held under 100 yards yesterday so he needs 208 yards in the last game to break the rushing record.  I seriously doubt he will get that against GB.

I saw a small headline on the back page of my newspaper, it said Atlanta has home field advantage for the playoffs  ;)
Congrats to Atlanta, if you want to go to the SB, you must go through Atlanta  :notworthy:

Lastly - The BUCS SUCK  :raincloud:

Yep, the Giants looked fucking bulletproof and unstoppable when they played Green Bay a few weeks ago, but ever since then, they've just completely lost whatever motivation they had. I didn't see that game yesterday, but I was thinking that Ahmad Bradshaw be back in at RB for them and that would help them some. It's fucking weird. They've dominated some of the better teams on their schedule this year like San Fransisco, Green Bay, and New Orleans, but then a game or two later they just utterly lose whatever intensity they had.

As for the Bucs... maybe they suck, maybe they don't, but they'll probably have an easy game against Atlanta next week. Atlanta really has nothing to play for as far as standing goes, BUT, some of the local sports reporters have been interviewing players and a few of them have mentioned how they'd like to finish off the regular season with 14 wins for the second time in franchise history to tie the 1998 team that went to the Superbowl. So either Atlanta is going to not take the game too seriously, or they're gonna come out with all their starters and try to put it away early. Personally, I hope they bench Matt Ryan and let backup Luke McCown get some playing time. I didn't really get to see much of him in pre-season, and the word is he's a decent backup that can run quite a bit faster than Ryan if he needs to.

The last thing you want to see is a playoff team lose a key player going into the playoffs.

I hope all of the teams are at full strength during the playoffs, that makes for better games.

Uh... yeah.

Sometimes I wonder what people in the NFL use for a fucking brain.

I thought it was possible, but I didn't really think coach Mike Smith would actually DO IT. He stuck in ALL the starters for the WHOLE GAME. Fucking stupid. CB Dunta Robinson was out with a head injury of some type, and towards the end DE John Abraham got rolled on by a teammate and twisted his left ankle pretty bad. The othe CB Asante Samuel is still playing, but he's been injured recently, and all it would take is one misstep and he'll re-injure his shoulder again, so he's basically playing while being held together with fucking scotch tape. I just don't fucking understand it. What was the point? To stay ready for the playoffs? To prove anything to anyone? Because the only thing it ended up proving is that a team who didn't even have a chance at a wild-card spot could beat the team with the best record in the NFL when they were at full strength. Just fucking stupid. But I gotta hand it to Tampa, for the first time in a while they played a pretty good game. I think they only had 1 or 2 penalties all game. They played mistake-free football for the most part, and thats usually what it takes to beat Atlanta these days.

My good ole Bucs, they show a glimer of hope when it means nothing.  TB RB Martin finished the season 5th in rushing, he looks like he could be a good back for the Bucs, if he can stay healthy.
Sad to see the Falcons get banged up, at least they have a bye to get in better shape.

GB/MN - Peterson almost got the record, he came up 9 yards short @ 2097, still a hell of a season after coming off a season ending knee injury.
Minn's victory gets them another chance to play GB, this time in GB.

Wash/Dal - I see Romo came through again in a big game - 3 ints

I wonder who will be the Jets QB next year.  I think everyone knows Tebow will be gone, but I'm not so sure Sanchez will be there either.
Sanchez sucked this year with 13 td's and 18 int's, I will say that he did not have much around him to work with.

I saw where Reid is out at Philly.  He probably has needed to go for a couple of years, I think that team has been without good leadership for a while.

I think Andy Reid's a good coach, he just has a shitty QB to work with. Like I've been saying all along, I never "got" why everyone was so piss-their-pants excited about Michael Vick coming back to the NFL. Maybe his first year in Atlanta was decent, and maybe his first year back at Philly was sorta decent, but he's never done anything anywhere in the NFL that I thought was particularly worthy of all the hype and attention he got coming back.

I'd expect to see Greg McElroy as the starting QB for the Jets next year. In my opinion, it doesn't really matter WHO they put in at QB, if they can't get their offensive line to start pass blocking better than they are, I don't thing ANYONE'S gonna be able to pass for anything. Maybe Mark Sanchez ain't the most accurate passer in the world, but it's not hard to see why he's got more INTs than TDs when he's getting smothered by defenders before receivers running short hitch patterns can even get turned around to see the ball coming.

As for Dallas, I'm kinda on the fence about Romo. Sometimes he can't hit jack shit with a pass, but most of the time he's got amazing pocket awareness and the ability to avoid defenders. I'd probably keep him around a few more years if I were them. Main problem I see with their offense is that their receivers are sooooo inconsistent. Miles Austin used to be one of the best receivers in the whole damned NFL in my opinion. But for the last few years, he hasn't been getting as many passes thrown his way, and when he does, he only brings in less than 40% of them even when it's a sure thing. And Dez Bryant... sometimes he makes some amazing catches, but more often than not he drops the shit. And maybe they weren't winning enough games with Wade Philips as head coach, but it seems like since they fired him, their defense has been a lot worse and they've been losing games by a larger margin.

As for Washington, I think they're on the right track, and they definitely have the right guy for a head coach now. Mike Shanahan is a very smart war general, and he knows how to fill a decent roster. I doubt this is Washington's year and I don't expect them to advance past the Wild Card round, but in the next few years with a few more decent draft acquisitions and trades, they'll probably become a superpower. They're pretty close as it is, and drafting Robert Griffin was a HUGE step in that direction.

As for Green Bay and Minnesota... it kinda sucks for Minnesota that they have to play Green Bay twice in consecutive weeks, because the 2nd game is probably gonna be MUCH harder to win. But I still hope that they do. I wouldn't mind seeing Atlanta getting matched up with Minnesota in the Divisional round. Atlanta's defense really needs to face an exceptional run team like Minnesota that doesn't pass as much. Atlanta's defense has a really bad habit of throwing vicious hits rather than putting their fucking hands on people to make tackles sometimes. That shit drives me FUCKING NUTS. :frustration: And you saw what happened late in the game yesterday. Martin broke through to the secondary, and safety Thomas DeCoud had him dead-to-rights, but he throws a hit at him rather than wrapping his arms around him, Martin does a spin move, bounces off him, and strolls right the fuck into the endzone for the score.  :ohlord:

But alas, I'm pretty sure that luck will have it that Atlanta's first post-season opponent will be Seattle, and Seattle will continue kicking major ass and put them down in the most pathetic fashion conceivable. Some people might think I'm nuts, but I'm expecting Seattle to win it all this year.

Some people might think I'm nuts, but I'm expecting Seattle to win it all this year.

I would have thought that also at the start of the season, but Seattle has been on fire the last few weeks and what really matters in the playoffs is who is playing good at that time.

LSU coaches made some dumb calls on their last possession.  They passed on all three downs, on second and third they only had 2 yards to get.
They go 3 and out and Clemson did not have to use any timeouts.  I don't know if it would have changed the outcome, but they were dumb calls.

NFL PLAYOFFS, B'YOTCHIZ!

For today, I'm calling Houston Texans to win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Also calling Minnesota Vikings to win over the Green Bay Packers. Actually got money on that one. I know, I know, it's crazy to put money on Minnesota over Green Bay, but that's reflected in the odds too, so I get a decent payout if it happens. Besides, they did it last week, so anythings possible.

For tomorrow, I'm taking Baltimore over Indianapolis, and Seattle over Washington. Dunno if I'm gonna put anything on those games. If Minnesota loses tonight, I probably will lay something on Seattle. Might do it anyway even if Minnesota wins.

I really enjoyed watching the ND beatdown lastnight.

The ND top-rated defense got exposed.

Yeah, I said that I was gonna root for Notre Dame... but Monday afternoon, I finally came to my senses and I put 300 on Alabama to win since I kinda need some extra cash right now. I knew all along that Alabama was probably going to end up winning... but I never figured that Notre Dame would allow them to completely and totally skullfuck them the way they did for 90% of the game. But honestly, I should've seen that coming, especially taking into account how Notre Dame damn near lost one of their final games of the regular season to Pitt in overtime in a rather low scoring game. I mean Pittsburgh isn't exactly the worst team out there, but they aren't "good" by any measurement either. If a team playing for the BCS National Title is having problems buttfucking Pitt, they're gonna get nothing but obliterated by Alabama.

That was honestly... THE WORST... BCS title game I've seen in the entire BCS era. It was pretty hard to stay interested in watching it. I would've much rather seen Oregon play Alabama. That would've actually been a contest instead of a 4 quarter long pimp-slap.
