Most of louisville is returning starters... hard for me to be so concerned when UNC beat them last year, as well as ncstate in that bowl game.. both equally as bad. Being that I feel we have a much better team, i'll obviously be disappointed if unc loses to them haha.

I saw the result though of the kentucky game and going just by that louisville seemed a bit dominant.

Rather than beat around the bush, I'll get straight to it........the Saints looked HORRIBLE.  They were out -coached and out -played in all phases.  Roman Harper couldn't cover me without getting burned or getting a penalty. It's been 30 years since I have been called to run a pass pattern; I'm not kidding, I could smoke him. What is so special about this guy? His tackling ability?  :eyecrazy:

The team looked flat and unprepared - that's coaching - or a lack thereof.

Now give props to RGIII. That young man, if he stays healthy, will rank with the top QB's that ever played. He is smart, has quick feet, and a delivery I haven't seen since Dan Marino. He can cock and fire in half a second, and the ball hits the receiver one second later. I was very impressed. Saints better get it together or this could snowball into a really bad year.....like 6-10.

Yeah, I think this year proves that you can learn a lot from pre-season. That being... that you really can't judge what a team will do in regular season by everything they do in pre-season. Indianapolis looked like they were ready to whoop some ass and be undefeated with Andrew Luck, but they got bitch-slapped onto their fat asses against the Bears. Redskins looked fucking untouchable. Which kinda sucks for the rest of the really good rookie QB's as of the past several years. RG3 gets paired up with a "decent" team, and the rest of them get stuck trying to turn a pile of shit into gold with pile of shit teams. Colt McCoy is a good QB, so is Brandon Weeden, but they're both doomed to lose at Cleveland. Same with Cam Newton. Cam Newton is better than Robert Griffin in my opinion, but he ain't gonna do shit with Carolina, and unless he can find a way to go somewhere else before it's too late, he's gonna be out of the NFL or stuck with a backup QB job and an insulting little paycheck in a few more years.

I saw a few small glimmers of hope from Atlanta in pre-season but was overall resigned to the idea of having another horrible season,... but if Sundays game is any indication of how the rest of season will go, I think maybe, just maybe, they've finally got a kickass offense put together. They aren't much in the running game, but they're stacked sky-high in the wide receiver department now. Finally Julio Jones is living up to the hype and paying off. If Atlanta can get the defense to do their fucking job, stay glued to their assignments, and make stops, they'll be wowing critics and kicking some ass this year. Maybe shit ain't as glum as I thought it was.

I didn't catch much of the Saints game, but I'm assuming they've butchered the roster and shot themselves in the foot. Was watching the San Diego game against Oakland tonight, and I could've sworn I saw Robert Meachem in a Chargers jersey. They had a great team pieced together a few years ago when they won the Lombardi, and it seems to me like they've taken a beautifully crafted machine, parted it out, and sold off the pieces. Why? I dunno. Makes no sense.

saints = bad offensive line, terrible defense  :fight: (even when they did manage to make a stop in crunch time, they gave it away with a penalty...), penalty ridden on both sides of the ball..

as far as rg3 goes..he looked good, wouldn't say great..curious to see how he does against a real defense

Cam Newton is better than Robert Griffin

Maybe Robert Griffin, but not Robert Griffin III. Both of them have top level talent, but I think RGIII is on a different plane.  Wow, did I just say that? Cam Newton is REALLY good. Yep. Time/injuries will tell.

$$$$ and other distractions...They have yet to put together a defense that could make them serious contenders in consecutive years. Offense is pretty, defense wins.

I wish I could see more Atlanta games. Even when Atlanta and N.O. play at different times, we get stuck with the stinkin' cowgirls. Hey Jerry ...  :nana:

Wow. Just watched the first two quarters of the Virginia @ Georgia Tech game. Either Virginia sucks bad this year, or Georgia Tech has gotten better. Last year, Virginia won the game. This year... different story. Georgia Tech has scored on every last single possession, including a turnover on downs when Virginia was on the GT 11 yd line with 4th and 1 :D, as well as a turnover by interception. 38 to 7 at the half. Yeah, don't see much of a reason to watch the rest of it, it's pretty much over for Virginia. Can't wait to call my brother-in-law who's a Virginia grad and ask him if he liked the game. :lolsign:

Well as far as I've "seen", Cam Newton seems to be a little more accurate with his throws (at least he was in college). From what I've "heard", Robert Griffin III is a total freak of nature who tested off the charts in the NFL combine in jumping and all that shit, I dunno about running speed though. But I think if you traded RG3 to Carolina and Cam Newton to Washington, Cam Newton would start winning a lot more and RG3 would be getting L's every week. That's why it's gotta totally SUCK to be a first round draft QB. The great QB's always go in the first picks, and those first picks are always the shitty teams. You just gotta luck up and hope you get drafted by an at least minimally decent team with a front office that doesn't have it's head up it's ass about how to build and maintain a winning team around you. So you work your ass off in college and get rewarded with wins and bowls and titles and maybe a Heisman, and then you finally get to the NFL where you get PAID for it, and you gotta squat and shit gold for everyone pronto before they doom you to a backup QB job and a less than what you're worth paycheck.

louisville rocked us the first half, but we won that game. can't wait to post a replay of the last play... UNC WR catches the ball in the end zone, lville defender out of desperation face masks him and rips his helmet off, and the helmet is what brings the ball out of his hands....

stupid ass shit.

and yeah I was surprised with the ga tech uva game... keep in mind pitt smoked va tech today though right after beating the yellow jackets

Georgia Tech is passing just a little more this year, but it's really not that effective because every single time they do, the line up in pistol formation with the QB about 5 yds back from center and the runningback lined up right behind him, so it gives it away every time and isn't any surprise for the defense at all. And of course they still stick a runningback in as QB, so he can't pass worth a fuck, he loops the pass way the fuck up high like a moron to let defenders see it and adjust to it and move under it to either possibly intercept or block it.

I was watching the Louisville/NC game but I switched when it got so one sided.  I looked back and it was 39-34 and I went  :WTF:
I switched over and saw the play you were talking about, definitely a questionable call.

I was surprised at the FL/TN game, I really thought FL would lose it.  Florida's QB played the best he has played by far.
I hope this game was not a fluke.  They play KY next week so they should win, but after that they play LSU  :purpleshock:

I hope LSU leaves enough of your Gators asses for Georgia to kick right before Halloween.

Speaking of Louisiana and ass kickings, how bout them Panthers? :D All the pregame show analysts and commentators were picking New Orleans to win, except for Rob Riggle over on Fox. :D Dunno why I find myself rooting against the Saints these days, because I still like Drew Brees. Well... actually... I do know why. It's the whole "bounty" thing for injuring opponents. I was watching yesterday, and a few of the New Orleans defenders are still playing with that spoiled brat bounty attitude. At one point near the end of the 1st half, Cam Newton makes a redzone dash up the middle, everyone piles up just before the goal line, they use their hands to rip his fucking helmet off, and then I see people in Saints uniforms intentionally stomping their feet in the area where Cam Newton's helmetless unprotected head is sticking out of the pile. Apparently the officials AND the guys calling the game in the booth missed it, and luckily no one actually stomped on his face, otherwise he'd be needing some facial reconstructive surgery this morning. Completely uncalled for, and if New Orleans loses every single game this year, it serves them right. :ohlord:

Falcons defense picks off a pass by Peyton Manning. Then on the very next Denver drive, they do it AGAIN. Denver gets the ball a third time. I'm hollering at the TV, "Come on! Let's make it 3 in a row!" I don't actually expect them to, but, THEY DO IT A THIRD TIME! Some really poor choices in the passing game early, but I was also very impressed with the way Atlanta was doing some crazy and impossible to read shit on defense. Manning had NO fucking clue what to expect, and his offensive line was kinda confused a few times on blocking assignments. I was a little disturbed by Atlanta's decision to get rid of last years offensive coordinator, but I'm starting to really like what I'm seeing. In years passed, Atlanta has always been about 65% run - 35% pass type of offense. They've finally decided that the old philosophy of "run, run, run - pass only when you HAVE to - bleed the clock" is not the best option anymore, and they're taking advantage of some of these great receivers they've accumulated by becoming pass-happy.

You still gotta give Peyton Manning credit, he came back in the 4th and started hurrying the shit out of his offense, got Atlantas defense huffing and puffing, and found a way to claw back into it. But as long as he's wearing a Broncos jersey... FUCK HIM. I'm glad John Elway was there last night to see the Falcons rape his ringer quarterback. A little payback for that Falcons loss to his horse mouthed ass in the 1999 Superbowl sure feels good, even after all these years.

Yep. Shit starts looking promising and running smooth, and someone has to be a fucking idiot and throw a wrench in the cogs.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/atlanta-falcon-michael-turner-arrested-124428353--nfl.html

Since he ain't running worth a shit anymore anyway, it wouldn't completely break my heart if they suspended him the rest of the year or even dismissed him. Honestly, getting rid of him should have been one of the changes they made this past off-season in addition to revamping the coaching staff. Really all Atlanta needs now to be a truly deadly offense is a back that reliably get 4 or 5 yards per run to take care of the situations when it's the 4th and they need to run and retain possession to run the clock out.

I'm thinking maybe the DUI and extra attention helped convince Michael Turner he needed to start actually giving a shit about playing his position better, because he looked like a different Michael Turner against San Diego today. I'm not really surprised that Atlanta is 3-0 at this point. 2 years ago, they were basically undefeated most of the "real" season (not including the games they relaxed on after they clinched the #1 NFC playoff seed) with the exception of getting robbed by Pittsburgh out of an overtime win in week 1. I expect Atlanta will continue playing decent. I know I was bummed by what I saw in preseason, but I've done a complete 180 from that opinion. Shit's looking promising this year.

However... I AM surprised to see the Saints going down 0 and 3. Their defense really ain't playing too terrible, they just seem to get tough luck and nothing but.

Even more surprised to see San Fransisco get it's first loss to MINNESOTA of all teams.  :WTF:

Quake 2 needs a public square.

This is not a debate.

If you were attached to reality, you'd realize that.

Quake 2 needs a private bathroom.
