What an asshole. Up the northeast coast, they've finally started doing lottery drawings for elk tags. These are places where elk have been hunted to the point of endangerment. People do the same shit up there though. They draw a tag and think they can get away with hunting more than their share, and unfortunately, usually they do get away with it. Even in the mid-west, elk populations aren't what you could call "staggering." If you ask me, the penalties for poaching certain animals are not nearly stiff enough. 2 (or 4) grand fine? Are you fucking serious? A lot of the guys that hunt elk are some serious fucking hunters with money to burn. 2 grand for the life of such a large magnificent animal taken with no regard for responsible conservation is nothing more than a slap on the wrist. 4 years intense probation, 72 hrs in jail MANDATORY, 100 hrs community service, and a 10,000 fine PER ELK seems much more reasonable to me. It's not like the DNR couldn't use the extra revenue. They've all been operating on little more than twigs, duct tape, hopes, and dreams for the better part of 8 years now.

It looks like a bunch of people tried to rush the theater to get in for free.

The incident started around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night, according to a release from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, when an officer working off duty in the 13100 block of City Station Drive at the Regal River City Marketplace Stadium 14 was rushed by a group of juveniles and young adults allegedly trying to force their way into a movie.

I wonder what movie they were trying to see.
