WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!!!!

Saw it once, it came on a movie channel again, I couldn't turn it off fast enough. It's a collection of over-elaborate suicides set to artsy new aged music with a lame plot device to hold them together. Watch 28 days later again, then watch sunshine. You'll realize what sunshine tried for and missed.

I'll do that...maybe it was the crown and cola that spurred my "raving" review but I enjoyed it all together. The special effects caught my eye instantly and the plot was interesting for a "independant" fox film.

It even impressed my fiance who is pretty much anti sci-fi.

On that note..she recommends "Atonement"

Grindhouse Double-Feature

I didn't get a chance to see this in the theater. I don't know why, I'm normally all over Quentin Tarantino movies like stink on shit.

THIS MOVIE FUCKING ROCKED!

I like how Quentin Tarantino lately has been adding some classic 70's genre themes to his movies. (That's one thing I love about Rob Zombie's movies, he has a true appreciation for 70's horror cinema.) This one was particularly attractive. The whole movie had effects added to make it look like an old cinema reel with scratches on the film, hairs caught in the projector, and missing/broken sections of reels. It wasn't one of those movies that EVERYONE would love, but anyone with an affinity for zombie movies like myself would absolutely LOVE the first half of it. As far as your trademark Tarantino memorable dialogues, this one really didn't do it. In fact, some of the extended dialogue in the second half of the movie almost makes you stop paying attention. But by the time the action starts again, it grabs you by the balls and doesn't let go until the movie is over.

As the title suggests, it's done up like one of the old double features they used to do years and years and years ago in theaters. It even has mock trailers and ads between the two "feature films".

I give it 8 out of 10 half-eaten human brains.

By the way, Tarantino only wrote one of the two features ... the second one. The first one was written by (had to google the name : Robert Rodriguez.) So it sounds like you didn't like Tarantino this time around

I thought I remembered the previews on TV talking about Robert Rodriguez. I should've figured it was his work with all of that wonderfully spectacular prevalent gore. He also did From Dusk Til Dawk, one of my favorite movies for many reasons. The "pussy" speech by Cheech Marin at the beginning was side-splitting. He also did Desperado, which I thought had some of the best shoot-out scenes ever put to film.

The Strangers - still not sure what I felt about it, some moments were pretty intense, although it dragged on.  The final scene was pretty rough, just imagining going through something like that....

I thought The Strangers was pretty lame.  I was hoping for a good scary horror movie, but it was just underwhelming.  Nothing really scary to me, just a couple SURPRISE! moments good for a minor jump, but even then the surprises were fairly telegraphed.

The gore was fairly minimal too IMO.

For a good gore movie, watch "Wrong Turn 2", that was pretty good in that regard.  Overall just a so-so movie, but entertaining at least.

An interesting portrayal.  Generally avoided any cheap shots.  Brolin got the accent and mannerisms down flawlessly.  All really well acted, except for the cartoonish Condoleeza Rice character.

Saw it when it first came out. I hadn't paid close attention to the previews and was under the impression its purpose was to make you laugh. Instead, while it was funny once in a while, it portrayed Bush as a sympathetic character and was fairly well done. Pretty pathetic though how bad his "father-better-than-me" complex was.
