I got an Android Phone recently and would like to hear recomondations for games,especially RPGs. I like single player ones and don't mind paying for a good one.

Did find one good RPGthat I ignored when it first came out,being a disagreeable top down view for the action,but that works well for a phone sized screen.

I've watched gameplay videos of Hawken.  Reminds me of Q3A gameplay, just with mechs vs people.  I would be more interested in a mech game that's more involved with the mech, not just running around like a shooter.

I'm hoping you'll post a review of what you think about it.

hawken is pretty good, lot of people really loving it... but it kinda doesn't feel much like a mech game

mech games to me are like... armored core or mechwarrior... still spending a lot of time on mechwarrior online occasionally

Well playing Hawken for a bit and it's not a bad game. it has alot of customization options which is essential in any mech game. They have different types of mechs for different types of players. all ranges and strategies. it's quite diverse. However since you have to actually level your mechs, (ala Call of duty style). i haven't been able to do much with customization. so far i gather the games gives a certain amount of points to build your mech the way you like. you have to buy points i believe to get it going faster i'm assuming. the gameplay is ok. the information about the mechs are limited. you basically have to figure out the controls on your own.

The battleground all look like destroyed cities and look similiar. just giant scrap heaps. The graphics are good (for a free game) in which you can pay later for credits. The Hud doesn't give much info, so you have to assume how much damage your taking and what the enemies weapon damage tables do to your mech. i especially liked the weapon ratings for balance adjustments . The sound effects are kinda blah. it would be better if they had an enthralling alert system when you take damage and comments on battle events. it's a fun game. i just wish they would curb some of the levling up and find a different way to get diversity in weapon customizations.  7.5/10 Golgo Rating

Christ what a beautiful looking game. The environments are gorgeous to say the least. Seems like a big plot hole linking the 2nd to the 3rd. There are things mentioned that happened in the story line that I do not recall from the 2nd. I don't think I missed any SP DLC, but if I did it may have been in there.

Great looking and playing game. I love the addition of the crossbow in the gameplay. You can customize it with variable pull strengths and 4 different arrows. Also, there's a hacking element added that I have thoroughly abused to change targeting protocols on turrets and, heh, reactivate them just after an enemy manages to shut it down. Surprise Muther Fucker!!

The overgrown foliage is unlike any others in games I've seen before this. The tall grass truly obscures your sight. It reacts fluidly to movement and forces around it. Remember the scene in one of the Jurassic Park movies when the raptors are weaving through the tall grass and all you see is their wake? Yeah, that's how cool it looks here.

I have yet to see the MP side of it but had played it in the closed Alpha and then in the Open Beta. For me the MP in the Alpha and Beta was hampered by the engine. I couldn't find a happy balance of settings that provided a good visual without slashing fps. There seems to be quite a few improvements in the way the engine performs because I am able to play the game at a steady 35-40 fps with everything maxed out at 1080p in SP.

8/10 Just for the SP experience I've seen so far. Keep in mind I'm about half way through the 2nd mission 'Fields' and have yet to get to the meat of the game.

Finally got around to figuring out how to get DOSBox running. Been playing around with some of my old favorites, mostly Redneck Rampage. It sucks by current standards, but it's still pretty fun to play. Funny as hell.

Actually many of the game sounds I'm using are a little different from whats in that video. When the game came out, you had the option of going to the Xatrix website and downloading the "Cuss Pack" add-on for $1. But these days through the miracle of the internet, you can find it many places for free. Anyway, here's a complete sampling of the changed sounds.

Also still have the original CD and package for Redneck Rampage - Suckin' Grits on Route 66 official expansion pack for Redneck Rampage which I bought back in 1998 about a year after Redneck Rampage came out. Also still have my original CD for Redneck Rampage Rides Again, the sequel to Redneck Rampage, although I seem to misplaced the CD case and original packaging, but at least I still have the manual.

Wasn't easy to get these things running on my Win7 machine either. Nothing would install from the CD's so I had to install all 3 of them on my old Win98 machine, then copy all the files onto a CD-RW, then copy the CD-RW to the Win7 machine. I've had a couple problems with the game locking up in certain places on a couple of maps, but after saving my place in the game and trying several different approaches to those areas of the one or two maps, I was finally able to get past the trouble spots.
