EXCEPT they rewrote the physics engine entirely, and when an indie dev writes a physics engine, there is bound to be quirks :/ the laptop doesnt quite handle it so well so i get tons of weird shit going on, like the mouse will suddenly jump up like triple in sensitivity and feel like there is acceleration... jumped off a cliff like that more than once trying to turn 90 and spun 270... hopefully will work better on my new beefy laptop

very fun game, i recommend it to anyone who likes tower defense

Popped on this weekend to play this as per suggestions from Gator, Quadz et al.

It is amazing.

I am totally addicted and probably put in 10 hours on it over the weekend getting my bearings and learning by doing.
It takes a great amount of patience at first because there are a ton of things you will need to learn, and if you're all by yourself I can see it being insanely tough.

Even with a team helping you, your chances of living if you decide to go apeshit on the zombies are next to nil, as they will come from a long way around to investigate your gun shots.
If that wasn't bad enough, other players will happily gun you down for your gear if you make yourself a target and they can hear your shots from a half mile off.
You have to be stealthy and ready to run and hide at a moment's notice, and it really forces you to think about even simple actions like lighting a fire to warm up or cook food, as you are drawing attention with every poof of smoke.

If it hadn't been for the TS crowd playing co-op and runnin teamspeak I would have died of starvation a couple times now, to top off my handful of zombie related deaths.

You will definitely need some time on your hands to play it, but it's very rewarding due to the difficulty and the sheer paranoia factor that comes with permanent player death.
It's not often I play a game where I find myself so very screwed so easily: My very first death, I literally crawled broken legged thru the street trying to find a zombie to eat me just to save time and respawn instead of lapsing in and out of consiousness and bleeding out slowly.

The typical experience for me so far after spawning has been about an hour of travelling thru the woods avoiding zombie contact and locating myself in the huge game world via landmarks, roads and transmission lines.
From there I've been proceeding to the nearest deer stands and farms/barns to try to cobble together some basic food/water and weapons so I don't die in the first day, and then making my way to specific locations where I can meet up with the rest of the group.
Last night we did some team scavenging that went well (no hostile pvp contact, no deaths to zombie, and a profit in terms of gear) and I can really see the game opening up at this point with tons of options.

It's quite possibly the best sandbox game I've seen, and definitely the hardest game I've played in years.

Felt like I should talk about this a bit more.. even though some people are a bit pre-occupied to care. It's probably one of the best RPG's I've ever played, and probably one of my favorite games now, which sucks because the game has NO replay value. It's all about the story, and once you know all of it, the game won't have the same impact on you like it did the first time around. If you have some time to kill, PLEASE consider playing this game.

Speaking of MOTHER, I also played Earthbound all the way through as well, but in my opinion, it just wasn't as good as Mother 3. 

Oh yeah, and I'm also playing Chrono Trigger at the moment as well. AMAZING game, but I'll probably never get around to finishing it. (Depending on when I get unbanned. :x )

lolnvm. Just beat it. It's a really, really great game, but for some reason, I still think MOTHER3 is better.

Started to spend more time playing Board games with the kids than q2 lately.

Simpson's Clue was a lot of fun. Monopoly didn't go so well even though one of the 6 year olds wiped the floor with us before we quit. I've also been introducing them to different war games with much success. Nerdification process started!

Just Cause2. Theres a multiplayer test from sat to sun this weekend. (aug 10 2012) I cant wait!
When the test server ran two weeks ago the player count peaked at over 1500!

Been playing Dayz for quite some time now.   Glad to see others enjoy it.  I typically hunt at night with small squads of individuals I've played with since I started.  I will say though, the game can make you predatory after a while.    I saved a guy once, bandaged him, fed him, ammo'd em up and what does he do?  Shot me in the head, took my items.   Ever since then, if I see anyone, they're right to keep their eyes on me.   Your killers come with smiles.

I had a roommate who was heavily into Romance of the 3 kingdoms. Its a turn based Take over china province by province and micromanage troops and conquered cities and such. Lots of fun on its own and made even More Fun with a character editor that let you program your own NPCs to set loose in the world,so we had fun with it. All of them supermen,all odf them from sitcoms and the like. Mr Howel is asking if you require his services,while Baretta and theFonz are assaulting the town next door . Fortunately its run by Fred Mertz and Andy Griffith is running the army. Stuff like that. Meta Amusement,when you play a game and visualize known characters enacting their game fate.Betrayed by My Left Nut! I am glad all these very old games are finding new homes in smartphones and the like...like carrying part of history around
