it's a 12% energy drink / malt beverage focalor.... pounding 2 of those things is like taking 10 beers to the face (i have drank more than 10 tonight, i will add for thread relevance)

and yeah i've read somewhere that caffeine was the main concern, weird.

Laying around the house in my ratty old blue plaid "I just don't give a fuck how I look" pajama pants, drinkin' cold beers, watching the Saints beat up on the helpless Cowboys, waiting on the dressing to get done so we can woof down some Thanksgiving dinner before drinking more and watching the Jets kick the shit out of the Bengals later tonight. My old lady blistered the shit out of her forearm frying the turkey out back. From the way she came flying in the house screaming her tits off, I was thinking, "Oh weeee, a trip to the ER!" Wasn't as bad as she made it sound though.

Also remember it's VERY important not to allow air/oxygen to sit on the batch during fermenting. The idea I had of screwing the cap off 1/8th of a turn will usually be enough to hold enough carbon dioxide in (to void out the oxygen and chances of bacteria forming) while allowing excess amounts of it to escape so that the jug won't burst. I've heard of people taking a sewing needle and poking several holes in a balloon and fitting the mouth of the balloon over the jug opening to let excess CO2 out. I don't really like that idea though. The better solution would be to use a water airlock. You'd have the jug air-tight with a tube running out of the top with the other end sitting in a glass of water. I'm not too fond of that idea either though, I'd personally prefer the container remain pressurized with the CO2 so I know without a doubt that air hasn't gotten in some place. Air + moist environments = molds and bacteria = very bad.

I have a friend who is "good with tools" (the McGuyver smoker type) and he is pretty much helping me get it done here. He comes over daily, we chill, smoke and check on it every once in a while, he is following the instructions to the T and if in the end this stuff is do-able we may make a couple more batches!!

If you're making the OJ hooch, use LOTS of sugar. Using 3 or 4 cups in 3/4 a gallon isn't too much. The more sugar you use, the longer it may take to fully ferment it all (sometimes up to 3 weeks), but it'll keep increasing the alcohol content. If you're not going to distill the beer down to straight alcohol, I'd definitely advise using as much sugar as possible. If you're going to drink it straight, might as well have as much alcohol in it as you can get. I warned you, it's fucking harsh tasting. It's not bad for making weird mixed drinks though. I kinda enjoy the rotted flavor in screwdrivers. If I've already been drinking and my stomach's nice and primed, and I happen to be low on beer or out of beer, sometimes I'll drink it straight or at least half & half it with Sprite.

This is my recipe for screwdrivers I came up with: 16 oz glass, pour in a double shot (3 oz) of Smirnoff or Grey Goose, add about 4 oz of the hooch, 3 oz of cold OJ, then splash on 2 or 3 oz of cold Sprite, add some ice, stir, drink.

Here lately I've been leaving the plain OJ out and using only the hooch instead. 2 or 3 shots at a time isn't sane for weekend drinkers, so use caution and take it slow, kids. Remember I'm a professional.
