string theory is beyond human comprehension (for now), but it still yields experimental results that are as accurate as measuring the united states accross to the width of a single human hair. just because we can't fully understand a given topic fully does not mean that we can't use certain aspects of it to our benefit in seeking the truth. just because we don't fully comprehend god does not mean he does not exist, or that we can't develop theories off it (look at almost every religion). we must never take a pessimistic attitude toward difficult subjects if we are to have any potential in finding the truth.
since i believe in god, i'm going to need a reasonable explanation for the latter to change my belief. also, it looks at this point, as though something is required to fine tune this universe.
i must say it has to be hard to turn someone's belief without evidence into a lack of belief because of the lack of evidence.
my sole belief is that there must have been some outside entity facilitating the creation of the universe (multi-verse?), as opposed to shit "just happening".[...]
Clearly such an outside entity is too perfect to have "just happened". It must have been created. Obviously anyone who doesn't comprehend this is an idiot and is out of luck due to lack of common sense.
this is why i wanted to talk about things less open to interpretation. i'm interested in physics, and the ideas people have surronding it. so i'm not going to say, what evidence i think supports the existance of god. or argue that what you are basing your beliefs on is based on assumptions of the same kind (lack of evidence).what are you studying at college?
computer engineering.
god is unworldey, so why god doesn't need a cause is beyond our comprehension, so on, and so forth.
Because it's exactly the same as saying, God was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster, who is meta-unworldey.
no i don't agree. we are assuming there is a god.
no i don't agree. we are assuming there is a god.But WHY are we assuming there's a god??? (Weren't we assuming there was a God, because of something?)
you could assumd the universe has to be fined tuned in order for life to exist, so god would be the "entitiy" doing the fine tuning.
