Do you see any other choices here?

if this universe, as we know it, were to end, what would god do?  how and what god would do, if he exists, is beyond our comprehension.  how can i make choices up, and say they are adequate choices.  belief in god, by nature, doesn't entail understanding of how he does things.  regarding questions of this nature, this is how i truly feel.

It would?  Funny, because Hawking predicted how black holes would radiate energy based on an understanding of the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics, before such radiation was confirmed by observation.  How did he do that?  Prayer?

previously i was eluding to the improbability of a lifelike universe forming, based on the big bang.  these improbabilities are part of science.  i was speaking of this prior scientific result

I'll guess: he eats an infinitely large box of cheerios and says "oh darn. that's what happened to the last universe I made!"

i have no problem with science doing whatever they want.  i'm saying you could guess, but we can't comprehend what and how he would do something.  so it would be a rather uneducated guess.  lets leave the science out of god, unless of course we  come to understand more about god.  maybe all we will know, is he is the reason the universe formed the way it is.

why substitute God (totally unproven and ultimately unproveable) for a theory with actual observable evidence?

The big important lesson to be learned here, is this:

If it can't be easily recorded, observed, inferred, or calculated, religious people will invariably blame it on God, instead of looking for a real answer, and in doing so, they majorly handicap their intellectual growth and their general understanding of the universe.

"God" is the lazy-man's answer to the hard questions that are produced by having a modicum of intelligence.

I doubt GOD is behind every falling rock...

he's also not the reason that energy can't be created or destroyed...

Evolution seems to work pretty well all by itself without interference by a mythical construct...

and the universe could have created itself without any predetermined design and without outside forces having anything to do with it.

but im sorry, i do not feel that i am the result of "millions of years of adaptations".

what sort of biology have you been studying?

if by millions he meant only 2 than i would agree.

the main difference between apes and humans is our consciousness - ultimately our brain. so really the changes over the 2 million years from ape to man is incredibly small (98% of the DNA) - except for the brain. how is it then that we became so much smarter? 2 million years is indeed a very long time, and man did the brain increase in complexity! how did this happen? from what i understand our ancestral eating habits shifted to a heavy meat-based diet (protein for the brain to develop further). over a long period of time we now had what was essential for the brain to develop. of course, this alone wouldn't explain it. it seems three key factors skyrocketed the brain into uncharted territory: language, imagination, and technology. it's hard to say which factors were more important than the other, but it's safe to say these all played a very important role.

all the tools for walking/breathing/proper digestion/etc. were there already.

until then, it looks like science works very well with god.

science tells us that complex beings come into existence LATE. so to say science works very well with god (a highly complex being that has no evidence) couldn't be further from science. i think you're trying to say that since god solves all problems that science hasn't solved yet, they are compatible. god of the gaps for the win!
